I went to Alpha Lock&Key asking for someone to "pick the lock" in my garage because I lost the key and the garage door wouldn't open. They made a phone call and told me someone would contact me in a few minutes and arrange to come to my house to pick my lock. The proprietor said it could cost about $125 which surprised me. They sent two men who said the price was $275 if I paid cash, but10% more for credit and no checks accepted. With no recourse, and told him to proceed and two minutes later the door was open/no damage. I asked for a receipt and was told that he sent it to my phone.
When I could not open the receipt, I once again visited the Alpha Lock&Key shop and related what happened. He could not open the receipt, and was surprised at the price charged. He asked me to described what the men looked like, and said he recognized them. He then offered that it was now common practice to place a call to a "call center" who sent out workers where/when needed. They were not connected with the business I thought I was dealing with (Alpha Lock&Key). He could have told me this to start with and I would have taken my business elsewhere. Now I feel victimized by foreigners with no recourse other than to give this review. read more
