There is only one sheet of ice but the arena in general is so well maintained and situated in a nice park area that it is hard to give them anything but 5 stars. The lobby area is large with large windows to watch from the warmth of the lobby. There is a very nice snack bar where they make fresh pizza and other grill items like hamburgers and eggs. The coffee isn't the best tasting, but it is fresh and hot - and costs just $1. There are a couple TVs hanging from the walls and a small arcade. I didn't see a pro-shop but they do sell a few items like tape in a vending machine. The lone negative in the lobby is the restrooms. They're dingy and usually dirty when I've been there. The ice rink is very bright. All the lights work and the score board functions properly. They also have a board that displays shots on goal, a nice feature that not all rinks have. A nice thing they do, which no other rink does for amateur hockey and least at the A level, is cut the ice between 2nd and 3rd period. That is an awesome thing. There is a lot of room for the spectators, and the steps are not steep. Very comfortable. This rink doesn't want people to watch along the glass at the corners, and they have put visual obstructions on the glass to discourage people from standing there. They probably have a good reason, but as a parent I often like to stand where I have the best vantage point to see him play and hopefully get action pictures. They have a large parking lot too. With the nice amenities for parents, this is a good venue for tournament games, or any activity that requires you to spend time here waiting, This is a rink that I always look forward to coming to.

On our second try, we came on Sunday, and it was insanely full of kids with lax parental supervision. The rink seems to be poorly managed -- they never bothered to flip the skating direction (most rinks flip half way through), they didn't have a Zamboni intermission, and they didn't stop kids from skating in every possible direction, throwing their hockey gloves in front of unsuspecting adults, etc.. It was kind of a free for all. On one end of the rink, adults were conducting hockey drills for kids (bad idea during public skate), and kids were using hockey pucks in the main skating area. Good luck not tripping. Summary -- great if you're a kid, but stay away if you're an adult. Next time we'll try the adult only session.

So, if that's their typical level of covid awareness and enforcement, one should factor that into consideration. Otherwise, a decent location for active fun.

The city maintains the pathway well; just recently workers were filling depressions in the path to make a more even walking or running surface. Porta-johns are there for relief - the brick restrooms are typically locked for whatever reason. A good spot for getting and staying healthy.

I loved all the decorations, which made the atmosphere so much fun! If you get a hole-in-one at the last hole, you can get a token to play the course for free next time! I surprisingly got a hole-in-one! I was able to do it even though I'm a beginner golfer, so I bet anyone has a chance of getting a hole-in-one! I saw a lot of families with children. Every hole was set up so neatly, with creative layouts, multiple drops, and thoughtful details that kept it fun the entire way through. I especially loved that they had an easier course for younger kids, which made it perfect for our children, and we also noticed the moving/more challenging course, which looked like something my husband and I would love to come back and try on our own. The seating areas placed along the way made it feel relaxing and enjoyable, and there was so much to look at that the whole experience felt special. One helpful thing to know before you go: it is cash only, so make sure you come prepared. It was $25 for 2 adults and 2 kids under 6. But aside from the ample parking, what matters to me? Coffee. And this place has vending machine coffee and no snackbar. Blech. A positive is the temperature inside the rink. While decidedly cool, it isn't a meat locker and that's important when you are essentially stationary for an hour. It has a 100% functioning scoreboard, also a huge nice to have. On the downside, the players benches and penalty box obscure the view along the boards. Rinks where the benches are opposite the bleachers are better. If f this place had fresh coffee I would give the rink 4 stars - but they don't so they get a 3.

Public skating here is fine…read more I have had nothing but bad experiences in the programs for learning to play hockey that my kids have participated in, culminating in my son's attempt to play in what they called a developmental league. There were maybe 15 kids in the program, with no teams, bad coaches, and no communication. My attempts to learn more and eventually get a refund went unheeded for weeks. Note that the various hockey clubs that use the rink may be different and are not run directly by the rink.
