We've been using A Better Pool Service for a while now. This is the second house we've used them…read moreat, my mom was the first to recommend them to me after I was constantly complaining about my last pool company. Making the switch was the best decision. They come out very fast every time I have an issue or concern with any equipment. If they don't know the answer, they find someone who does. We especially love Lance, who comes out every week. Our pool is never cloudy or green and he never leaves even one leaf behind! They are all super friendly, even my 3 year old gets excited to go say hi to Lance when he is here. They go the extra mile. They sent out step by step instructions on what to do in case we lose power during the freeze. Lance took that step even further by sending out pictures for those of us who are more visual. I could go on and on about the fabulous customer service.

That guy, Neal, is absolutely horrible. He seems like he just tries to see how quickly he can get out of there, doesn't care if the job is done or not. He was at my house for 8 minutes today and last week was around the same amount of time but then sends an email outlining what all was done . Service is to include vacuuming. He has lied twice saying he vacuums but have it on camera what was done. Bugs are still in the pool just as they were before he got there. We have canceled already but they were supposed to finish the month out but seems pointless cuz Neal does nothing anyway. Stay away from this company

However one day after his visit, our chlorine levels didn't even register on our Taylor test kit. I knew right then and there the $200 per month cost was essentially money down the drain and we needed to cancel them. In all fairness the management did try and offer to come out and fix it, but at $200/month? I'm not interested in having to supervise employees to make sure they do the basics. We had such a great experience with the pool installation. We had this issue a few years ago as well and cancelled. We figured it was worth trying again. This time was so much worse. If you're prepared to watch over the tech to make sure they do the basics it's probably fine. For us, that ends up making it no longer a timesaver. Might as well diy. At least I know I'll try to get the chemicals right. I'm not bothering to try to recover the money that essentially went towards nothing, and I almost didn't post this, but it felt irresponsible not to warn others to keep their guard up. Here's hoping that should you move forward, you have a better experience! Crown team- Again, we looooved our install, but I'd seriously exam who you have representing you from a service perspective.

Had trouble scheduling an installation date or getting calls back from the store - they finally came out and installed it, but it was not done correctly. The filter container was hanging off the concrete pad, they tried to feed DE through a skimmer with a sock on it, and the pvc piping wasn't done well. It took multiple calls to the owner and 2 additional visits for someone to come out and finally fix it. This was after they insisted they came to my house and "everything looked fine", but my Ring doorbell and gate confirmed they didn't come at all and must have gone to the wrong house. Immediately after the fix, the brand new filter started leaking from the seal joint, and no one will actually commit to coming out and looking at it again. I've been scheduled "on the board" for multiple service visits - but then they no call/no show and I have to follow-up again. I understand staffing is tough, but they've used the excuse of being "down" a pool tech all summer so that the owner is having to go out on calls himself. I also had a big issue with high copper in my water - it was filmy, blue/silver in the net, etc, and they said "they had never seen anything like this" and didn't know what to do. They didn't test the water or seem to have any ideas or solutions - I figured it out myself with a test. The price on the filter was ok and I was trying to find a more locally owned alternative to Leslie Pool. However, it's been such a hassle dealing with unnecessary issues from the installation that I would not recommend purchasing equipment from them.
