From management to staff is drama. This location lacks leadership, compassion and motivation! They do not appreciate you, over work you and management loves to bully and use profanity and threats towards you. There is lots a favoritism giving staff that is favorited the green light to treat others with no respect. It's simply not a job for anyone. And even though it's memory care you deal with residents that are AL,Skill,Memory and syc! NOT WORTH IT. Management will leaving you hanging, don't help if your short staffed. I wouldn't recommend sending family member there unless you just absolutely hate them. They don't get fed and any drinks after dinner is served at 5pm until the next morning when breakfast is served. And most of them time the residents stay soiled.

We have friends that recently did that, and they are very happy with their choice. Our main consideration is to spare our children the responsibility of caring for us when (not if) we are not able to do it for ourselves. Our real estate agent, Zachary Roberts had toured it already, and he came with us. I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked through the front doors of Harmony at Greensboro. Marian Ragsdale, their Director of Sales and Marketing, met us with a warm welcome. Then what I immediately saw was a bright, cozy gathering room filled with people enjoying one another. All around on the walls I saw beautiful artwork, tastefully incorporated with fine furnishings. It was "swanky." We walked past a dining room where the tables were covered with white tablecloths and set for company. Marian showed us several residential 2-bedroom apartments. They were bright and beautiful. I had seen the floor plans, but they didn't do them justice. Let me just say that if you are considering whether to tour a community, do it for sure. Standing in the middle of each room, I could easily feel myself living there. If that were not enough, the services that they provide - fine dining service, housecleaning, light-bulb changing - anything you are now doing at home they do for you. Lastly, I thought it would feel like hotel living, but I say it's more like living in a neighborhood. I wanted to come home and pack!

My experience with Pennybyrn has spanned 24 years between being an employee and a family member of…read morea resident. From both sides, I can without a doubt share how amazing this community is. My Grandfather became their family and developed the best relationship with his caretakers. I never worried about the care he received, because it was always at the level where I would have cared for him. I expected the best, and he received it. When he passed, his entire household mourned along with me. They will still share an endearing or funny story from their time with him, and it really touches my heart to know their relationship was so strong. Pennybyrn has some of the lowest resident-to-caregiver ratios in retirement living, and this is designed to allow extra time to build relationships, give extra care, and support enjoyment of life and home. As an employee, I can share that this company will go to bat for its team and try to give the best of every penny and benefit possible. Pennybyrn is non-profit, meaning every dollar that comes in goes right back into resident care. When they give annual increases, free meals and amenities, and continue to keep benefit costs some of the lowest in the industry, they have strategically and thoughtfully given to their employees at great expense. Pennbyrn truly loves their team and will do whatever it takes to keep them happy! Please keep in mind that the other reviews listed here are subjective to each person's experience. Pennybyrn isn't perfect, but their mission and values are carried out in everything they do. You can come into the healthcare households right now and sing along to "My Girl" with a live band and dozens of residents singing and dancing along. There is a quality of life here that is unmatched, and the residents deserve to live each day with love, compassion, excellent care, and family. That's what Pennybyrn is all about and they deliver on their mission to "Demonstrate God's love to every life we touch".

From the moment you…read morego through the checkpoint, you can tell it is a very quiet and private community the employees care very much for the property as well as the residence and provide an exceptional quality of care for all of the people residing here. The property is very inviting to walk around as they have a small pond, lots of artwork on the outside, and the inside most buildings are connectedand you can walk from building the building without having to go outside. This is a higher end residential community, so it is a bit expensive to live here but as I stated the quality of care is exceptional, whether you are living on your own or assisted living.

On multiple occasions I have heard them talking about the residents loudly out in the halls. I have even heard them talking about the resident that I sit with. One of the CNAs said that the resident under my care, "is very rude and when I see her call light on when I'm working I purposely don't go in there because I don't want to deal with her" what if I wasn't in the room with her and there was an emergency? Another one of the CNAs took a very ugly tone with my client and said, "I don't know I'm not in her brain" when the resident asked when the nurse would be coming in with her pills. I found this very disrespectful and I personally would never speak to a resident or any person that way. Another thing is that they take up to 30 minutes to even come into the room and see what the call button was pushed for. The nurses, food service workers, and other employees are very nice and the facility is always clean. The only real problem i've seen is with the CNA's. f
