The only benefits I saw, at the time, were 'shortcuts' to answering questions on the SAT and the one on one college counseling / essay writing with Julian Chou. Everything else felt like a waste of my time. I came to summer boot camps to make friends, some of whom I still keep in touch with. Looking back, all of that went a long way. Sure, some might argue it's not worth the money but it really depends on how the student takes advantage of all the resources. I certainly didn't take advantage of all of them but all the instructors are specialized in specific subjects and are quite knowledgeable. Some of these instructors already have full time jobs yet they take their time during or outside of Elite classes to help students. If you can study independently, props to you but most high school students can't. I couldn't. And in this way, Elite was very helpful, using both former and original test questions to evaluate how you'd score on a real test. I enjoyed all my teachers (few whom I still keep in touch with) and the staff, yes they were mean. They were too direct and condescending. However in retrospect, considering how annoying I must've been, imagine that multiplied with hundreds more. Elite wants their students to take practice tests as if it's the real setting. You can't talk, text, or cheat and you shouldn't fall asleep. I attended Elite about 10 years ago. I wasn't close to a 2400 nor did I get into an Ivy League. But considering what I've achieved since then, I can't thank them enough for prepping me for that very first step to 'adulthood': college.

Because those high-demand teachers are often requested a week in advance, it can be difficult to book them last minute. Most teachers are good and will ensure you understand the material, especially if you come prepared with specific questions. With the strongest instructors, you're thoroughly covered. They make sure their explanations are clear and detailed, and they check for understanding. With the less effective teachers, you may need to advocate for yourself more and do additional work independently to get your doubts resolved. Math instruction here is a particular strength!!Shout-out to my goat Victor, his guidance helped me ace a Pre-Calculus test I was convinced I was going to die during. On SAT prep specifically: after attending both Elite and C2 bootcamps, I personally no longer believe SAT prep courses are even worth it. just get good at desmos bro, you don't need to even know math to do well (as someone who scored 1500). If you are set on doing a bootcamp however, C2 was by far the better experience between the two. For college applications, I would not recommend spending your hours here. While they offer college-app help, in my experience they're not especially attuned to what admissions offices prioritize, nor do they try to research it at all. You'll likely get more value from the excellent (and free) resources available on YouTube. That said, their writing + ELA support for school is fine so dw about that. MADE coffee is almost right next door and I love getting coffee before I go in Saturday mornings, that is a mega plus. overall, I really like coming here and it has saved my butt multiple times. the community of it all is wonderful and they make you feel encouraged no matter what. I'm someone who has to engage with a topic multiple times to understand something, so often I feel pretty stupid when I go to other places for tutoring help, but I never feel like that at all here! After this conference, I e-mailed Noel at Connect the Dots, and he contacted me right away by phone. After that phone call I felt he was so knowledgeable and reassuring that I felt relief in my mind that we had a plan of action; and that proactive plan made me feel that Noel could help her more than I could alone. Connect the Dots Learning has been working with my daughter one-on-one for approximately six months. I have seen remarkable improvement in these areas. I've just recently enrolled her in the homework club there where she goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and she works on her homework with the assistance of Noel and his helper. These two days she has come home with her homework finished or nearly finished, and she can relax once she's home. They help her with common core, which is completely incomprehensible to me. The stress of me helping her is gone at least for those two days of the week. I feel as parents we have stressful jobs and lives. Having my daughter at Connect the Dots gives me peace of mind and lets me focus on my work and other things because I feel that I am doing the best thing for my daughter so she can learn and be successful at school. And she likes it.

So I guess this is a first person experience. Primary Source document of Yelp. The classroom was well air conditioned, and had water and tea which were provided thirsty students. It was a normal classroom, with tables, chairs, and a whiteboard. The class had about 10 kids- therefore everyone had one-on-one experience too. Even if there were more students, I'm sure Chris or whoever teaching would still do the same... they really tried their best to teach. The SAT course was 7 weeks, 3 days a week, 4 hours each day... However during the last 2-3 weeks Chris extended it to 7 hours, it was optional. But I was really happy that they always allowed me to come in on another day or stay after, if I ever needed extra help...Pretty flexible people. But we focused on Reading Comprehension, Grammar- sentence structure mostly-, Math, with Algebra, Geometry, Word problems, and Trigonometry. Also a little on ACT, but mostly SAT stuff. Worksheets were given, at times it would be done individually or with in groups, or as a class. Questions were ALWAYS answered. At the end of each week they gave a Practice test to see your progress, scores were given afterwards of course. (Since the class was long they gave breaks in between, many people went to the donut or sandwich shop nearby. I like the sandwich shop, they're really nice and family like). Well all in all, I'd definitely recommend this place to anybody willing to try and work hard, because they will do their best to help. Coach Asha helped me get together my interp events pretty last minute and I managed to qualify top 15 in California for nationals or NSDA (with a main event of dramatic interpretation). Also, throughout the season I got some specific technical feedback from Coach Shante which really helped me hone in my performance. While Coach Chris helped me get my DI up early in the season which led to me placing fourth at Peninsula. Additionally, Coach Janiel is mostly always at tournaments and gives a killer warm-up that really energizes me and my peers as well as give us a confidence boost admits the inevitable nerves. Furthermore, Coach Forrest and Coach Anna are really good with the younger students as they helped laid a solid foundation for my speech and debate skills going forward. I really started learning public speaking starting with them! And Coach Robert is great at platform events and is extremely detailed in his feedback. In addition, there are Coaches Kavya and Christine that I heard great things about from other peers but haven't worked with them too personally. With QD Learning I've been able to travel to Minneapolis for the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions and Arizona for the National Speech and Debate Association/ Competition as well as local tournaments around the area. In anyways I totally recommend them and have won a lot more tournaments than mentioned. However, the most special part about the QD Learning is the amazing process and journey that it takes you through as you make lifelong connections and work with amazing national champion coaches that take the time to understand your needs.
