I've battled a challenging TMJ condition for decades following complications from a disc…read morereplacement procedure (which was later prohibited due to negative outcomes in patients like myself). Over time, I explored just about every non-surgical approach available and adapted to living with my condition while steering clear of additional surgery. Recently though, I sought professional guidance regarding the ongoing deterioration in my jaw and to understand my current options. After weeks of intensive research to identify top-tier oral/maxillofacial surgeons throughout the United States, I discovered Dr. Krajekian and traveled from California to Cleveland for a consultation. Remarkably, within the first few minutes of meeting him, I felt an immediate sense of confidence in his expertise. What makes Dr. Krajekian truly exceptional is his pioneering work in modern TMJ surgical techniques. He is one of very few surgeons who uses immersive virtual reality (VR) technology for diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and surgical rehearsal. I watched his VR demonstration with great interest. It made me realize there had been a dramatic evolution in TMJ treatment since my earlier experience. Beyond his technical expertise, Dr. Krajekian demonstrates an unparalleled dedication to his patients. He carefully developed a customized treatment strategy for my specific situation and has patiently provided detailed, illuminating answers to all my questions. His care is not limited to office visits. He makes himself directly available for direct communication via email and phone - yes, without having to go through admin staff or a patient portal. This is an unprecedented level of availability that I've never before encountered with any healthcare provider. I'm choosing to share my experience now, even before undergoing the actual surgery, because I understand how challenging and overwhelming it can be to find the right specialized care for complex TMJ disorders. Dr. Krajekian's thorough and outstanding pre-surgical support and accessibility have already made a significant positive impact.

God has blessed my socks off with Dr.Krajekian and his team as His vessel! I have ... .no I had…read moredealt with a tingling tongue for almost 4 years. The pressure was intense some days. I made several visits to my dentist through the years and a few to my PCP, no one could help me! In January, I developed a bump behind my molars so I decided to try the dentist again. After a visit to another dentist who referred me to an oral surgeon, I was told I had a cyst and an impacted wisdom tooth close to the jaw bone. It needed to be taken care of asap but another surgeon would need to do it. After an ordeal with finding an oral surgeon, an appointment with Dr.Krajekien was made. I was so defeated by the time I walked into his office and figured it would be the same old same old. He assured me that we were going to resolve this. He was so kind and compassionate and understanding. I told him what was happening and he told me about the VR that he uses in surgery that would show him exactly what was happening in my mouth. After dealing with this for so long and now adding the cyst to the problem and listening to Dr. Krajekien, I knew VR would be my best option. It would show the most accurate analysis of what was causing the tongue issue and help determine the best way to eliminate the cyst and hopefully the intense tingling. I walked out of his office with renewed hope!! He and his team were great with finding appointments that would fit into my husband's and I's busy schedule. Communication was great after I asked what was the best way to get in contact with him and his team. He went above and beyond for me. Due to insurance issues I was about to accept defeat. He would not let me quit! Dr.Krajekien went to bat for me and hit a grand slam! The day before the surgery at my pre op appointment he showed me the VR image and explained to me what was happening and what he was going to do. Amazing! The image he showed me made it crystal clear why my tongue felt the way it did. I was so nervous but so excited for the next day! The day of surgery he was upbeat making sure I was comfortable, happily answering any last minute questions. Once in the OR he was so kind and compassionate, making sure my anxiety was under control for the brief moments I was conscious. During surgery his team kept my family updated every step of the way. After surgery my jaw was still intact, my cyst and wisdom tooth gone and I felt no pain. The surgery went quickly and smoothly I believe due to the VR aspect in preparing for my surgery. In the days after surgery I was able to contact Dr.Krajekian with any questions or concerns. I am on day 7 of my recovery and have had very little pain and no tingling tongue!!! You can tell Dr.Krajekian loves what he does and is dedicated to making those suffering better! He and his team are top notch!! Thank you!!

Did it very efficiently and very fast. Again, explained everything clearly. Very skilled with novocaine (do not underestimate this skill set as some docs/dentists are not good at it and it is critical to avoid pain). Plus you can have nitrous if you want. I thought it would take a long time to get the teeth out, he had them out in about 3 minutes. No pain, no messing around. Dr. Popper is masterclass. Not that I like going to oral surgeons, but this is where I would go again. Staff was excellent as well. Plus, he called me in the afternoon to see how I was doing! Did not expect that. Actually she didn't know, as her fingers poked my throat and I almost threw up right there. This "doctor" didn't even take the time to answer questions or explain any procedures. Later, I found a different oral surgeon and when I went back to get my x-rays, her staff refused to give them, then agreed to copy them for me (would not hand over the originals) and later I found out she had tried to bill my insurance $15 just for a photocopy of the x-rays. My swelling was unlike anything I've ever seen and I had cuts on the side of my mouth. Currently, I have shooting pains in all of my teeth, a jaw that won't open more than an inch, and tongue numbness that won't go away, presumably from Dr. Wazney damaging my lingual nerve. At my follow up appointment Dr. Wazney barely looked in my mouth and handed me a syringe without any instruction on how to use it to clean my tooth sockets. She is cold, rude, and the way she conducts surgery ensures the most painful and long recovery process. I would never recommend this doctor and would definitely say she has provided the worst medical experience I've had in my entire life. Update: I went to get a second opinion from a different surgeon. Turns out I had dry sockets for the entire week that Dr. Wazney failed to treat me for. The other surgeon also said my tongue may not recover for several months.
