Explorer Pediatric Dentistry does a wonderful job of calming children down the best they can and making the whole environment soothing. For both of my children, their first time at the dentist was terrifying for them. I was able to hold them in my lap during each of their visits while the staff examined their teeth. They'll sing songs and let them pick out a prize afterward. Something I really appreciated during my last visit was how nonjudgmental they were about my 1-year-old still using a pacifier. We were seen quick and scheduling was a breeze. The hygienist took the time to personally review my child's special needs with me and took careful note of important instructions (i.e. my son aspirates thin liquids and cannot have water squirted into his mouth). Dr. Becky's recommendations were on point and reasonable. While being child-friendly, she delivered the necessary advice and care my children needed. They were happy to leave with a goodie bag full of quality samples and prizes for good behavior. Moreover, my kids received a hand written note later that week from Dr. Becky encouraging and reinforcing the brushing that was discussed at the appointment, and she even included some extra stickers for good measure! When I asked about their "late policy", I was told it's 10 minutes--but it isn't written anywhere for the patients. Also, on my last appointment, they called and bumped our appointment 30 minutes early, and we sat and waited 45 minutes before the dentist came and did his filling. The lady at the front desk was rude and dismissive, and the office manager never returned my phone call. For families, it's also worth knowing, it's difficult to schedule siblings together because how they block their schedule. Disappointing experience.
