I have been seeing Dr. English for about a year now, and couldn't recommend him higher. I travel quite a bit, and he is always accommodating to my ever changing schedule. Dr. English and his practice have quite changed my life. I am a postal carrier and constantly lift bins/parcels up to 70 lbs so I have reignited neck and back pain from years ago. I disliked that he made that decision for me. And then when I had to put my foot down and said I paid for it and I want to do it, he changed into a child and rudely said "fine let's do it". He started acting passive aggressive and slamming things around. You could cut the tension with a knife. I had no idea what I did wrong I just asked for what I paid for. I started visiting Aloha Wellness at the end of June and still attending today. Dr. English and his staff are incredible. He took the time, to listen to me and figure out what was bothering me the most (My back and Knees). He then gathered information on my ailments and put together a treatment plan. He was open and honest and upfront. He informed me, that my treatment was only as good as my dedication. I currently attend three times a week, and it is great. His manager Jennifer is so nice, and informs you on your appointments. Now , i stated i have been going for about 4 weeks, but the plan is working. I feel 100% better !! I found Dr. English's practice through a Living Social I bought on a whim because of the practice's name. When I went in for my first consultation with him I was so happy with the price of the adjustments that I decided to change to his practice since the co-pay was so low. BAD! I had a massage scheduled today and less than a 2 hour notice, Dr. English called me and cancelled on me. Even though if I had cancelled in less than 24 hours, I'd still be financially responsible for my visit. (I have a groupon, so I'd just lose what I paid for) I asked for an additional massage on the house due to less than a 2 hour advance notice cancellation and was refused. I was given some sob story about the therapist being pregnant and sick. Not my problem. Plus they advertised a 60 min massage and the massages are only 50 minutes. Beware! I would NOT recommend this office, nor will I be going back for anything after I use my groupon visits. STAY AWAY!!! There are so many other good places out there than to waste your time here. Would not divulge any information about prices kept meandering around the subject and actually started a fight with me in his office telling me he and I would not get along! I started going here a few months ago because I needed to reevaluate my back as I have scoliosis that affects my ribs, hips, and back. Upon going in for evaluation the doctor had me do whole body vibration and brain tap. I was amazed with the techniques he used so I started doing weekly PT. Within 2 months now of PT my rib cage has adjusted much better to the proper location and my back doesn't hurt at all anymore. I had a Groupon for an evaluation, X-rays, and 3 1-hour massages. During my first visit I had my evaluation and X-rays. During my second visit, Dr. English explained my physical condition and based on that suggested a PT plan. He said since I met my deductible and since it is almost the end of the year, he'll offer me no out-of-pocket costs if I do the suggested PT plan until the end of the year. When I told him that I probably won't be able to do it (even though I'd love to) since I'm a full-time Mom and won't be able to come in 2-3 times a week, he got almost upset and said in a very condescending way "I've never met someone that wouldn't take something that's free." I then had my first massage and when I was done, he apologized. He said "Let's just do your Groupon and 3 massages." I thought "You got that right, because after that I had no intention whatsoever to help you make any more money." The massages felt good, however, every single one of my 3 massages was only 45 minutes long even though I had bought a Groupon for 3 1-hour massages. Alright, first off, let me start by saying I am always very skeptical to any kind of business that uses a Hawaiian word, especially the word Aloha. That being said, when my wife and I first went to the Aloha Wellness Center back in 2014, we were greeted with nothing but Aloha. Dr. English and his staff were/are very caring and knowledgeable. Dr. English has his own x-ray machine, which made the initial visit and subsequent follow up/treatment plan pleasurable. Oops, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. Ok, the Aloha Wellness Center offers chiropractic work, massage therapy and also physical therapy. All right - covered. So now very quickly on my favorite- massage therapy. When we first started, Dr. English had a full staff of therapist, ( which I had the pleasure of being worked on by one of the best therapist that I've ever had ). Unfortunately during the years, therapist have come and gone - some ehh, others bliss! Now, in 2016, the Center is down to just one massage therapist ( the reason for only 4 stars instead of 5 ). Dr English himself is a very knowledgeable person and the wife and I really love his adjustments. Plus the good doctor has added some new toys to his treatments. One, darn, I forget the name, but you sit in the dark room with earphones on and listen with your eyes closed as you hear messages and lights flash, which are designed to train your brain and depending on what series you'd like to listen to, gives you very positive feed on a variety of subjects from weight loss, stress relief, getting a goodnights sleep, etc. he also has another machine called the Vmax fitness whole body vibration machine. It does what it's called. Cool machine. And on a final note, Dr. English is always willing to work with his clientele in regards to staying within their budget. I was looking specifically for Graston work, which their website said they offered. I told him when I made the appointment I wanted Graston. When I walked in and saw the "machine" front and center, I knew how it was going to go. The doctor kept talking about stress and what did I do for it, then questioning my other treatment providers and asking why they didn't do some crazy Chinese therapy I've never heard of. And KEPT pushing the stress thing, which was NOT what I went in for. When he realized I knew more than he did about my treatment needs, his body language changed and he became abrupt and rude so I left. Of course he called and left a message, claiming he didn't know what happened and that had never happened before. Probably because other clients don't have the extensive knowledge of therapy procedures that I do. He was only interested in getting me on his "machine" probably because he gets a kickback from the company that provides it. Take a chance, if you must, but I would avoid this place. My experience with Chiropractors on a whole has not been very positive one. I have been going for years to several different doctors pretty regularly and had no improvement. My pain had gotten to the point that I was considering surgery after the last doctor I had been to had ordered me a nerve block and the pain came back within 3 months. This is a process where a pain management doctor injects medicine to numb your nerves. This was hard enough for me to agree to to begin with much less the thought of actual surgery. I have been seeing Dr. E for my back pain for almost a year and I am finally living comfortably! His practice made so much sense to me once it was laid out. He combines chiropratic adjustments, physical therapy and massage. I continue to get regular monthly adjustments and a massage to maintain my progress and stretch on my own at home based on what I have learned. My husband has also been to see Dr. E with neck pain and he has also been relived of his pain. We are both satisfied and grateful that we found him and his team (Rose & Ashley are the best massage therapists I have ever been to and I've had PLENTY of experience). I visited this establishment for the first time by buying a groupon. Ive had unexplained back pain for quite awhile, and was thrilled to find this "deal", because it sounded like exactly what I needed for a REASONABLE price. If youre like me, and have no health insurance, far too many health/wellbeing issues get put on the back burner, because the back burner is far cheaper than a visit to the doctor. First of all, the groupon clearly (and tackily, in my opinion) states that Aloha's "awesome clientele always tip on the full amount of the service, and tip GENEROUSLY". Umm...does this business not understand the concept of Groupon?? If I had the money to tip generously, I wouldn't be searching this stupid app for deals 24/7! I ended up shrugging off this minor "eww", and went to the appointment anyway. I will say, the staff is very knowledgeable. You definitely feel as though youre getting ligit, accurate information. They are very thorough, and do a ton of "investigating" into your pain. HOWEVER, of course, theres a catch. After these professionals tell you all these things that are "wrong" with you, then show you x-rays of yourself, and how jacked up your body is, they want to put your broke ass on a 12 WEEK, CONTRACTED "Care Plan"! Oh, and ps....this will be your ONLY option in moving forward. 3 nights a week (who the f has time for that?!), for 12 weeks at the LEAST, all to "correct" things that you aren't even sure are really wrong with you. When I asked if there was any "less time consuming/inexpensive options" ie...a simple adjustment here or there....I was told it would be "much more expensive that way". Moral of the story here people, is unless you have plenty of money in the bank/ and-or medical insurance, and are ready and willing to basically spend all your free time, for the next 3 months at this place, DONT EVEN BOTHER. read more
