Jen is the first (and definitely last) solution to that problem for me. I had experienced increasing back soreness, twinges & just overall discomfort for close to a year. I mentioned my issues to a friend, who told me about Jen and with the pain not going anywhere (despite trying to fix them in a variety of ways), I went in to see if she could help. In short, it has been truly life-altering. I am so much more limber, I have been able to pick back up on exercises I had to quit doing, and most importantly my body just feels rejuvenated. If you've never tried acupuncture, I assure you that Jen will make you wonder why you haven't been doing it your whole life. If you have tried acupuncture before, Jen will make you wonder why you haven't been going to HER your whole life.

I experienced constant back pain for about 10 years after having my second child. I was so tired of it that I finally had an MRI done last year to see what was wrong. After only ONE visit, my back stopped hurting. This was the first time in 10 years I didn't' have back pain and it was a result of Jen's great care. I highly recommend this to anyone suffering from chronic back pain. Like I said, it's life-changing.

Jamie and Amy are the best! ____________________________________________________ Dr. Jamie Reed Jamie is phenomenal acupuncturist and so much more. She holds a doctorate in Chinese Medicine and combines that knowledge with her experience as a licensed massage therapist, mobility coach, and CrossFit athlete to provide all-encompassing treatments that may include acupuncture, cupping, body work, mobility training, nutrition recommendations, and prescribed herbal supplements and tinctures. I started working with Jamie two years ago. At the time, I was struggling with anxiety and depression as well as chronic back pain, knee pain, and a condition called "trigger finger," which caused the ring finger on my left hand to lock in a closed position so tightly that I sometimes had to use my right hand to physically force it open. Jamie helped to relieve my anxiety and depression to the point where I feel like a new person today. She cured my back pain. She's reduced my trigger finger symptoms to where they're barely noticeable to non-existent, giving me back full use of my left hand. And she's managed my knee injury to the point where it's completely pain-free. That allowed me to start running again for the first time in years and helped give me the lower-body stability I needed to lift substantially heavier weight so that, as of the day I'm writing this, I've broken through the performance plateau that I'd reached, gained over 20 pounds of muscle, and dramatically improved my speed and power as an endurance athlete both on my bike and when running. Beyond what initially brought me to Jamie, I found that when my allergies are bothering me, Jamie combines acupuncture and lymphatic massage to open my sinuses better than any OTC or prescription decongestant (and unlike drugs, with zero side effects). She's so good at this treatment that I'd love to start every day with it if I could. When I broke a rib for the first time mountain biking last year, I discovered that all western medicine had to offer was the recommendation to rest for 30 days, which didn't sound like much fun to me. Jamie combined acupuncture with a prescribed herbal supplement that had me 95% pain free in three days. The same week that I broke my rib, I was able to get back in the gym doing modified workouts and back on my bike riding without any discomfort. Not only is Jamie amazing at what she does, she's also become one of my favorite people. She has a relaxed, non-clinical style and is just fun to hang out with, making me look forward to every session. Finding Jamie improved my health in so many ways. I can't recommend her more highly. ___________________________________________________ Amy Hundley, LMT Best. Massage therapist. Ever. For real, folks. Amy is awesome. If you're over-stressed, she can turn your brain off in minutes and leave you fully calm and relaxed by the end of your session. If you're an athlete looking to speed up recovery or anyone in need of help with an acute or chronic injury, her sports massage technique is perfection. She very quickly assesses your needs (in my case, much better than I can) and dials in the amount of pressure you need to get the maximum possible therapeutic benefit. She's skilled at cupping, which works incredibly well when you have deep muscle tightness. She also makes recommendations to improve your warm ups and cool downs based on your individual needs and provides guidance on techniques you can take away to speed recovery from an injury. Among other feats, she stopped a persistent headache that I had for multiple days in minutes. And recently, when a sinus infection with asthma complications including a severe cough knocked me out of commission, Amy combined lymphatic massage and other specialized techniques to help open my sinuses and relive the tightness in my neck, back, and chest caused by coughing that sped the recovery process and got me off the sofa and back to training. Amy does it all, and she does it incredibly well. Very highly recommended.

I recommend Lindsay extremely highly, especially if you are dealing with a chronic health problem…read more The following is a long story, but the short of it is that Lindsay is my lifeline for keeping my autoimmune condition in check. I can't explain in biological terms how acupuncture works, but I can tell you that without Lindsay's attentive care, I would have to take immunosuppresants which would wreck my immune system and leave me very vulnerable to various forms of infection. Quarantine and germ-paranoia would be my new "normal" without her amazing work. It's hard to express in words how grateful I am to have her in my life. I've been suffering from Psoriatic Arthritis with wandering joint and tendon inflammation for my entire adult life (since age 19). Thankfully it was wandering and migratory for most of this time, so the downsides of treating my condition the "standard" way (immunosuppressants) outweighted the benefits. In 2018 it took a really nasty turn, and at the end of the year, I was at the point where I was having difficulty walking because of frequent knee and ankle inflammation, and worse still, unable to effectively use my right hand because of trigger finger that stabilized for a period of months. It was time for me to swallow the bitter pill and take immunosuppressants. I tried everything under the sun that there was any research literature in support of (AIP elimination diet, actual medical Keto with ketosis greater than 3mmol/l, cryotherapy, fish oil, curcumin, ginger root extract, boswellia, and much much more). A dear friend of mine recommended I give classical acupuncture a shot, and I sought treatment with Neil Gumenick in Santa Monica per his recommendation. Having a materialistic science-based worldview, I was extremely skeptical that acupuncture would work, but figured I had nothing left to lose by trying. Much to my surprise, within a month the improvement was so dramatic that it became clear I didn't have to give up having an immune system for the rest of my life to keep my condition stable and manageable. The finger joints that already had accumulated some arthritic nodules gradually became better and better, and over the coming months, the nodules had decreased to the point of being barely noticeable at all. My state was more manageable and mild, still with some minor migratory flare-ups, but nothing like the serious state I was in before acupuncture treatment with Neil. In late 2019, I decided to make the move to Austin, TX, and was willing to fly back to California every single month to continue treatment with Neil. Unfortunately after the move, I had a lapse in treatment before I finally resumed, and paid the price with my condition dramatically worsening. Whatever doubts I had in my mind about whether the acupuncture was responsible for my improved state were gone. Once I resumed treatment, my condition stabilized once more. As luck would have it, one of Neil's best students, Lindsay, happened to live and practice in Austin! I quickly began seeking treatment with her, and my condition was relatively mild and very manageable until the COVID-19 situation and I could no longer see her in person for a while. Predictably, my condition has worsened as it did before during my lapse of treatment. She has been extremely supportive and helpful, doing remote accupressure sessions, which has kept things a bit better than they would be otherwise, but I am very eager to resume seeing her in person. Even through these difficult times, Lindsay has been a wonderful source of support and care. In short, I am a die-hard skeptic that has been convinced by Neil and Lindsay that classical acupuncture can be a very powerful way to treat certain kinds of diseases, and I would recommend Lindsay highly to anyone who needs help. She is my lifeline, and my quality of life would suffer dramatically without her.
