Had hawaiian bbq for the first time last weekend in Arizona. It was fantastic. So today I looed for a hawaiian bbq spot near me. Aloha showed up on yelp and was rated highly. We ate inside the location and they had about 10-12 tables and it was decorated nicely with a hawaiian theme and tropical music was playing. Ordered at counter and sat down. Food came out in about 10 minutes. We had a masubi appetizer. Its like a sushi roll with a slice of spam on it. It was pretty good and im not really a fan of spam. I ordered the shoyu chicken and wife ordered the short ribs. Their pasta salad is pretty good. I really enjoyed it. I got fried rice with my plate and wife got the regular sticky rice. Both were delicious. My chicken was more of a shredded chicken and I mea too order the grilled chicken. It was still good but I loved the grilled chicken I had in Arizona with the sweet sauce on it. I think what I wanted was the huli huli chicken. Next time! Mybwifes short ribs are vross cut ribs cut very thin with the sweet sauce on them. Hers was deliciously awesome. We also got one of the special fries apps. It was really good as well. Way too much food for us but we wanted to try a bunch of things. Im definitely going back to get that huli chicken.
My friend took my husband and I here for the first time and it was fantastic! We went around lunchtime on a Saturday and surprisingly it wasn't very busy, we were greeted promptly and had a few minutes to look through the menu, my husband and I decided on the big kahuna meals so we would have left overs - the macaroni salad and slaw are so tasty, and every meat option was fantastic also. The chicken was my favorite but they're all really delicious. There's plenty of seating inside, but this spot is also good for grab and go. We'll definitely be back, this was a little hidden gem and we're happy we know about it now!
We ate here on a Sunday around 1:30. There was nobody in there eating. It is t a huge place. Maybe about 12 four tops. It was clean and cozy inside. We ate the combo plate and a chicken katsu. We started with a matsubi- it was just as expected! We wish we ordered two! The combo plate was a generous portion and the chicken and pork were tender each with its own delicious flavor. The steak was also tender and good. The macaroni salad was amazing. We didn't love or hate the coleslaw, it was just okay. The chicken katsu was very crispy and flavorful. I loved the small bed of cabbage on the bottom. Overall, we really enjoyed the meal and the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get. We were surprised that it wasn't busy at all. We would eat here again and look forward to trying the loco moco.
Came here today and we were pretty hangry bc we were awfully irritable. Our food here instantaneously turned us around. First impression was a very friend male working hard cooking the food and greeting everyone. I can tell he is very dedicated and cares about the service and the food. Ordered the garlic shrimp and the huli huli chicken. When it came out it was very good. Stacked plates like mountains full of our chicken and shrimp, fried rice with spam and macaroni salad. It was seasoned well and flavor was very tasty. We were very satisfied. The one thing was the ventilation is not great here. We moved 3 times. We smelled the smoke from the kitchen. Once we sat closer to the front door, it was much better.
Unfortunately I must now take my 5 star review down to a 1star. Our last 2 orders have not been 5 star quality & this last one will likely be our final order. We usually order the pork which is usually fabulous. The last time it was old & dried out but we ordered late in the day so I gave them a pass. Yesterday it was early so we decided to give them another shot. I always thought about trying the beef but know I loved the pork so we decided to just order the 2 combos. I do always upgrade to fried rice it's a small up charge but worth it... IF YOU GET IT... our food was NASTY! I was so excited to try the beef.... It was all gristle. I tried to cut around the gristle but it was not working. The beef sadly went to the dogs. The pork that I've loved every time..., nothing but fat! It was so gross. There's no way they didn't see this when packing it up cause it's the first thing we saw! Maybe the person packing orders needs new glasses??? I will say the chicken wasn't terrible. It had hard cartilage pieces in it but for the most part the chicken was good I just had to pick around the stuff that wasn't. Now to the sides... that fried rice I paid extra to upgrade... nope, it was just white sticky rice. The macaroni salad was good but the slaw, I think they watered it down. It was swimming in watery liquid & not good. I normally love their slaw but it was gross! Overall we likely won't be back. It's sad cause we once loved them but when you see the pictures of the garbage they charged us $20 a meal for... you decide... I have to agree with the others that have commented about them declining. They used to be amazing but it's rapidly declining & no longer worth it. They were great when they opened. I hope another Hawaiian place opens in the area cause I do love the food this place just went to the dumpster.... & decided they prefer it there.
I am a huge fan of Hawaiian food and wherever I'm visiting I'll try to find a place that has it. The chicken and beef were alright probably like a 6 or 7 out of 10. The pork I would rate a 3. I couldn't even finish it and I'm not one to waste food. For some reason it tasted like an overly burnt taste even though it did not appear burnt. My theory is maybe the sauce that it was cooked in was burnt. It was really disappointing. The spam masubi was good - rice was a little overcooked since it's been sitting for a while in the hot box. Next time I go I'll try one of the sandwiches maybe that will be better.

It's quiet inside but would be nice to have some kind of Hawaiian Ukulele music in the background. Then again we came in at 645pm on a Sunday. Still great place to grab some Hawaiian grub. We got "The Big Kahuna" combo and pot stickers. I'm glad we shared because that combo is huge! It's enough for two people. The pine apple coleslaw was okay until I got a piece of pineapple and it was delish! The macaroni is a bit on the salty side for me personally but my wife said it's wasn't. The pork was (I'm going to say it) moist, and tender. The beef was also tender and full of the marinade flavor. The chicken also had full flavor of the marinated and tender. As for the pot stickers... well it's pot stickers what else can I say. The sauce, however, was yummy. It's garlicky, sweet and a little kick of spice from the garlic ( I could probably drink the sauce). Overall great place for a little taste of Hawaii. Would definitely recommend and come here again!
Let me preface this by saying I was getting over stomach flu. Rating may have been higher if I had a better appetite/ hadn't just been sick. The combo plate is a good deal for the price, huge serving with three meats (chicken/beef pork) and three sides (white rice/mac salad/coleslaw). I ended up getting 3-4 meals out of it. I thought the quality and flavor were just ok, but again this might have been a me-thing. I'd like to come back and try it again, and will update my review if so.
I stopped here for lunch and got their platter that brings three different meats. Let me tell you, it was really freaking good. They give you good portions and the guy working there is a one man army. I give 5 stars because I can tell that he puts a lot of love and passion into his food. The rice and salad were good/okay but meats were much better.
Found this new to us place while driving thru strip mall. it is a great find. Mike answered all our questions. You order at the counter when you enter-find a table and meal is delivered to you. I had the Imu Sandwich Which is pulled pork on a Hawaiian bun with choice of sides- I had their fries. The pork was delicious so tender and tasty- there was a side of pineapple slaw also- My friend had the sarong wrap with Shoyu chicken. It has a spinach tortilla with sticky rice and pineapple slaw and came with macaroni salad. We each took home half of our meals. There is serve yourself drink area with iced tea and sodas. There are about 10 tables inside and 2 more outside. Plenty of parking out front. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes.

Stopped by Aloha to go today on a whim because I was in the area and starving & I'm really glad I did. I love finding and supporting good small local businesses, and this place definitely earned a return visit. I ordered the Killa Kilauea Fries with extra sauce & a Spam Musubi. The fries were fresh & crispy, what I really liked was that the cheese was mixed throughout instead of just being thrown on top. Everything tasted really fresh, you could actually taste that smoky BBQ flavor in every bite. The extra sauce was worth it too. The service was super friendly, the place is very casual, colorful & the whole experience was just solid from start to finish. Definitely one of those places I'll be stopping at again whenever I'm in the area. read more

Had many different Hawaiian plates in different states to be exact. This place rocks!! Food is delicious, service and ambiance is super chill and welcoming. Definitely recommend trying it out! read more

OMG my dreams have come true ! I don't have to drive an hour from home now for my favorite Hawaiian food spot! So happy this closer location opened up! I've already been once a week for the last two weeks! I love Hawaiian food and this is one of the only spots near tampa besides a Hawaiian food truck that's located in Brandon that I know of. I absolutely love getting the BIG Kahuna Combo it's huge definitely enough to share or for leftovers! All of the meats are so tasty along with the Mac salad and Pineapple Coleslaw! You really can't go wrong with Aloha To Go, never had a bad experience! Keep the new locations coming !! read more

We had never been here, but wanted to try it when Dave recommended this place - especially the Huli Huli Chicken. He said it was a lot of food and very good. I wasn't that hungry, so I ordered the mini. I asked for slaw and rice, since the menu says "white rice and macaroni salad," and the fried rice & slaw seemed to be the same price. But we were charged an extra $1.50. Husband ordered the Aloha BBQ ribs. He asked for fried rice & slaw, and again we were charged $1.50. But it, too, said "seasoned fries or rice AND macaroni salad or slaw." Very confusing. When I asked why, the young man ringing us up said it was for 2 scoops of rice - 75¢ each scoop for each of us. But we only wanted one scoop each. And the menu says one scoop of rice was included. Why did we pay $3 more? When we sat down to wait for our food, the cook (owner?) came out to ask about my mini. He asked if I wanted 2 scoops of fried rice and slaw and if Husband wanted the same. No. We really wanted just one scoop of rice and slaw. Then we asked why we were each charged $1.50 extra? He said he'd make it right, but he didn't explain & we didn't see him again. Our friend ordered the shredded pork on a bun, with fried rice and slaw. Her meal came out last & she was unimpressed. She liked - and ate - the coleslaw. But she left her fried rice, and pork on a bun, behind. She said the bun was so wet with juices that she couldn't pick it up. When she told the cook it should have been drained first, so that she could eat it like a sandwich, he offered to make her another. She declined. Didn't want to waste more food. She told us it didn't have much of a taste, but the chutney included with it was tasty & gave it more flavor. She didn't eat much of the fried rice either, telling us that it was also tasteless. We thought our food was good. The rice didn't have a distinctive taste, but it was okay. The coleslaw was excellent. We ate it all. Ribs and chicken were flavorful to us. Husband and I brought our leftovers home to enjoy tomorrow night for dinner. We were disappointed that the cashier knew nothing about the food or how it was served. When we asked if the slaw was vinegar or mayonnaise based, he did not know. When we asked about the difference of white and fried rice, he did not know. He did know that the fried rice was $1.50 extra. We hope to try Aloha again, but our first visit was not as good as we'd hoped. read more
We love Hawaii and the food and was excited to see this open up on our side of town. There wasn't very many people there when we came in and we were able to order quickly. The girl at the front register seems to be very timid and not quite knowledgeable about the menu. We got a huli-huli chicken plate and a aloha ribs plate. Flavor was good. Decent portions. I wish the rice was cooked better or that they used better rice. It was a lil pricey but with inflation and everything, it's understandable. I know they had musubis in the menu but didn't see it on their case. If you don't want to do the cooking, grabbing huli-huli chicken to go is not a bad place to get it from! read more

Expensive for just a burger patty, bacon , cheese and BBQ sauce!! $17 total with water. Burger was tasty. Coleslaw not tasty.... Even with a little pineapple. Disappointed. Staff was friendly. read more

We got delivery. Having lived in Hawaii years ago. I always love this food and great Hawaiian food is hard to find ! This restaurant has been so great and the HuliHuli chicken is so delicious and as I recall it from Hawaii. The macaroni salad is well made and full of the same ingredients as I recall The portions are very generous! Fries are crispy and delicious as well. My husband had the teriyaki and he could not eat it all which says a lot about the portions. Prices are very reasonable especially for the size they serve. This is our second time ordering and we will do it again. Try it I promise you won't be disappointed read more

I came to this place for a week night takeout dinner. It was simply delicious. I order the short rib plate with Mac salad and rice and it was packed with flavor. The short ribs were juicy and flavorful while being cooked to perfection. Perfectly tender with strong island flavors coming from the marinade. The max salad was great and I do not enjoy mac salad typically. The rice was just rice. My only critique would be I want more of those short ribs on my plate maybe I'm just greedy! read more

We ordered The Big Kahuna combo, it did not disappoint.we also ordered Kalbi Robs again super delicious and flavorful. Service was excellent, friendly and fast. We will be back. read more
