First off, I have had one positive experience, but this experience left much to be desired and it…read moredemonstrated a clear lack of care, consistency, consideration, professionalism, pride in the product and just WOW, DISAPPOINTING . To allow a plate to exit your establishment in this CONDITION was unsatisfactory & disappointing. I felt like I got scraps from a trashed kiddie meal, there was no thought given to this. The food was not cooked all the way. Fish was limp. Fish was as small as my thumb. The shrimp were tiny, dry, looked like they'd stayed under lights too long. I mean, the macaroni and rice are pretty simple, you got that in bulk. You can slang that all day. So why didn't anyone take time to AT LEAST make the fish and shrimp shine??? Regardless if the meal is a deal or not, what we receive is a reflection of each person who you touched that plate, WHO SERVED IT AND WHO looked at it, decided it was fine and put it in a bag to be delivered to someone who spent their money for food! Energetically and overall, this was SAD AND unfortunate. I gave my report on Uber already as one star: Maika'i Hawaiian BBQ (10311 North Eldridge) Thank you, Court, for your feedback. I'm truly sorry that your experience didn't meet our standards at Maika'i Hawaiian BBQ (10311 North Eldridge). We strive to provide excellent food and service, and I hope you'll consider giving us another chance to show you that. Please feel free to reach out to discuss this further. Also, don't miss out on our limited-time offer: buy one, get one (BOGO) free! Thank you again for your insights. Why would I reach out to discuss anything further when your establishment dropped the ball? Why would I take advantage of a buy one get one free deal? I won't patronize this establishment again. THAT IS ALL!! DO better.

Everything we had was flavorful, delicious, and all the meat was moist! I can't wait to come back and I'm sad it took me so long to find this place! Highly recommend!! Service was helpful and friendly. The restaurant felt very clean, spacious, and modern with a lot of natural light. They brought our food out to our table and gave us napkins and utensils, so we didn't have to get up and get them ourselves. Absolutely a great dining experience! The portions are also big! My bf and I each got a Hawaiian Favorite combo and couldn't finish them. The entrees are easily two servings for me, so it's a great value! The containers the food comes in are microwavable too, so extra bonus points for easy reheating! If you do manage to finish an entree in one sitting though, you will be stuffed! It wasn't mentioned on the menu, but there's steamed/sautéed cabbage under the meat. It looked a little deceiving because I thought it was just a huge pile of meat, only to find cabbage under. Thankfully, I love cabbage and appreciated that there were veggies to balance the heaviness of all the meat. That being said, there was still a lot of meat, just not as much as it looked like at first. They also give you little containers of sauce depending on which entree you get, which really enhanced the meal. If you get bbq beef or chicken, you get a delicious, sweet, Hawaiian bbq sauce. If you get the chicken katsu, you get a sauce that resembles sweet and sour. If you get a combo that has both bbq meat and chicken katsu, you get both sauces. I poured the sauce over the rice to season the plain white rice, then poured the rest on the meat even though it didn't really need it. BBQ CHICKEN: Moist, flavorful, and delicious!! Comes in small to large chunks. BBQ BEEF: Moist, flavorful, and delicious!! Comes in thin slices. CHICKEN KATSU: Moist! Fresh, crunchy breading! Tastes better with the sweet and sour-like sauce provided than on its own. KALBI SHORT RIBS: Delicious! Moist! Has fatty bits, unlike the bbq beef, which I really liked! Very similar, if not the same, flavor as the bbq beef. MACARONI SALAD: Delicious and flavorful! Tastes just like potato salad.

Their macaroni salad is absolutely creamy and full of flavor. It tastes so authentic that I always get an extra scoop. We don't mind the drive at all because the food and the service is absolutely worth it. They are always so sweet, attentive and kind. We always dine in and enjoy the decor and the vibe. They have a variety of canned drinks but honestly you have to try the Hawaiian sodas. They have a wide selection but I always get the passionfruit. So delicious and not overly sweet. It's pretty quiet and honestly they should have more dine in business because of how spacious the restaurant is and because of how sweet everyone is. But don't be mistaken, they get plenty of online orders because they are always busy with door dash. We love supporting good businesses and this one is definitely one we love showing support to. So if your looking for some really good food, make the drive to Aloha

From the moment I walked in, the girl at the front did not seem friendly or welcoming. I honestly felt uncomfortable even asking for condiments because of the attitude, but I finally did and she still seemed irritated while helping me. The disappointing part is the food itself was actually really good. The spam musubi rolls were a hit with both me and the kids, and the Kalua pork was flavorful and delicious. I hate leaving reviews like this because I know everyone has bad days, but customer service really makes a difference for me. Sadly, I probably won't return based on that experience alone.

While the food had some highlights--the sauce on…read morethe barbecue chicken was really good--I did have a few concerns about the overall experience. When I first walked in, the only front of house staff member on duty didn't acknowledge me and continued changing the trash bag for several minutes, while I was at the counter, before assisting me. There was no greeting either during my initial interaction or when I came back in to grab napkins for my order. This felt a little off in terms of customer service and I imagine it's not the experience the owner would want guests to have. The dining area was very hot, even with portable AC units running--it felt a bit like a sauna, which is why I decided to get my order to go. I also noticed the front door is quite difficult to open (there's even a sign warning you about it), which makes the first impression a bit awkward. As for the food, I was a little let down by the spam musubi, which came out soggy, but the barbecue chicken itself was tasty thanks to the sauce. I think with a few improvements--especially in customer service and comfort--the experience here could be much better. I would try again in hopes that today was just a one off experience.
