I have lived an adventure filled life and have had some very serious injuries, most of which were exacerbated by the adventures I embraced. My spine is a mess and I have had 6 total spine repairs - 2 of which were procedures to fuse 5 levels in my low back, and one was to fuse 2 levels in my neck. I currently have 6 herniated discs (apart from the fused levels) and moderate to severe foraminal stenosis in my neck. I have a *lot* of neck and back pain. I have had weekly massage therapy for a good 10 years and have years (accumulated) of physical therapy. I have been seeing Zoe for about 2 months now and I say with experienced perspective that she is absolutely exceptional in her knowledge and skills to provide pain relief. I also see what is the best physical therapist I have been to in Sparks, twice a week. Zoe and my PT do many of the same processes, each validating the other. Zoe has extensive (and impressive) knowledge of how the body's structures work together for function and health, and she knows what to do to mitigate pain and discomfort that result from use, misuse, and injury. I cannot imagine a better, more knowledgeable, or more relief producing massage therapist. Zoe is absolutely great. I have had a wide variety of massages over the years, including a number from physical therapists. I always prefer PTs because they know the body so well -- there is no feeling like they are randomly trying to find muscles and rub them. Zoe was even better. I felt like she navigated my body and knew exactly where to push, how hard to push, how fast to push, how to positions limbs and how everything is interconnected. I got a fantastic massage from Zoe while on vacation in Tahoe! She is extremely knowledgeable and skilled - among the very best massage therapists I have ever seen. I have severe scoliosis, which is often intimidating to therapists who have not seen me before. She dove right in and gave me some great releases. She also confidently got into my subscapularis to help relieve some ongoing shoulder pain that I hadn't been able to get relief from through other massage and addressed my chronic psoas pain - areas that are typically too deep or complicated for many therapists. And, she did all this in an hour massage! She has a bright, calm, quiet space with nice touches like pre-warming the table on a cold day, a heated rice bag on my back while she worked on my feet and legs, and hot towels for a finishing face wrap. Zoe at Aloha massage is hands down (pun intended) the most skilled therapist in town...perhaps anywhere I have lived. While I know she can deliver a silky relaxing massage, I go to her for therapeutic massage and she is incredibly strong and so knowledgeable about the body, our kinks and what is needed to get some relief. Just received an excellent massage from Zoe! I went in with lots of aches and pains and pulled muscles in my neck and shoulders. Zoe really listened and took the time to assess my body's issues.
