The most uncomfortable massage I've ever experienced. Went in for Swedish and left feeling bruised and battered. She used her elbows most of the time and did a weird pinching thing to my fingers that set off all the nerves in my body. She kept pulling my underwear down by increments which made me uncomfortable but then she pulled them down completely and I was like, "um, no, thank you." And she laughed. Also left the door open when she went to talk to someone. At the register, I was going to tip with my card because I didn't feel like I had enough cash when the lady who did the massage literally ran out, stuck her open palm right in my face, and demanded her tip. All the workers work hard so I'll give them that. My low rating is for cleanliness. No way they are changing the sheets etc. between customers. The lady also used gloves on my feet and spent 45 seconds removing them as to not turn them inside out and not rip them. She placed them back in the basket with the lotion. Gross! We had three appointments for an hour-long foot massage. They were ready for us on time. Nice, dark, and quiet room with some partitioned (by drape) spaces. All of us really enjoyed the experience. Not sure if they really know what they're doing there because I certainly was not looking for a spinal rub, she literally dug her elbow into my vertebrae, between the T1 and T5...I knew nothing about the numbers on the spine until I ask a chiropractor about the pain. As previously said from another review, the masseuse, does some deep work and focuses on hot spots and areas of concern. And yes, firm pressure. After looking up other options on yelp that would be open after 5, this place and up with a closing time of 8. I called them and the same woman I saw had a difficult time understanding my questions about closing time without thinking I was trying to book a 5pm appt. made a 6pm appt and went back to be told they couldn't honor the appt because someone was late for their appt and that I should come back in an hour. If I could pick a negative star, I would! I was brutilized by the man who gave me my beat down...I mean massage. I went in for a foot massage and the guy they assigned me looked me up and down with disgust and then he said something in his native language and the other two women (masseuses') said something like, scolding him. I should have left right there! But, like a dummy, I stayed. I just wanted a foot massage to relax... I got the foot massage which wasn't comfortable or relaxing and then he gestured for me to flip over, it was his hand flipping over, so I got on my stomach and he began with my shoulders, shoving them down into table, it was so brutal. I put my other hand up and asked "please, more gentle" well, it got worse! He started using his elbow and digging in and multiple times I put my hand up to tell him more gentle...I should have barreled out of there, it got worse I finally got him to stop and he walked away. I got my shoes on and paid. The woman got made when she aske " no tip? " I said no tip and left. Then I realized how much pain I was in. I cried from Truckee to Portola. I am a tough woman who does not bruise easily, nor do I complain about my bad experiences. But, I feel that this needs to expressed so that no one else gets brutilized like I did at this horrible place!!! I have been getting massages for over 30 years, many different styles. My favorite are the people that had a kiosk in Meadowood mall. I have had amazing wonderful massages, never a brutal, debilitating beat down like this! It is true, Anne does not speak a lot of English. I decided not to try and describe my particular problem. It turns out, Anne did not need to speak English. Within five minutes she had found the problem and worked that area a dozen different ways. She would let me relax between the deep tissue massage, but she knew the area was not finished. I did not miss the banter at all. I simply said, "Thank you" when something felt good. She might have said, "You're welcome" once or twice. Absolutely amazing massage by Bean. Got the $35 foot massage as a Christmas present and used it last week expecting a foot massage like a pedicure and a short touch on the neck and shoulders. Not so! This is almost a full body massage while being fully clothed. Bean hit every kink I had and worked it through. It started with a cranial massage including my face and scalp then a relaxing warm towel over my face and some intense work on the shoulders and upper arms while my feet relaxed in a tub of warm water. Then came an amazing foot massage with the reflexology hitting all the right spots, not always gentle but always effective. After that came calves and thighs before turning over to have my back worked on along with the back of my legs and thighs. I melted out the door. Ummm yes please! I tell everyone about the one hour foot massage for 35$ it's awesome and they get you head to toe just with your clothes on. It's so relaxing in there with low lighting and sheer golden curtains. This is also the most hygienic facility I have been in in the area. They use several clean towels to cover your skin and keep you warm and when they put your feet in hot water there is a plastic bag in the bucket so no germs and they even wear gloves when they massage your feet. I can relax even more knowing that I am not going to get some weird foot fungus a month after my foot bath ha ha. I've been 6 times and the one man has been the best! read more

60 minutes of spine and sacrum work... AMAZING! Deep, pressure point therapy very therapeutic... Foot massage- meh... It was more of a thorough lotion application and repeated knuckles down the arch. (I'm a massage therapist) this was very unfortunate and unpleasant. :( If your conservative, the draping is pretty loose and sporadic, but fantastic for getting into the muscles! OK so i almost didnt come here based on the past reviews and that would have been a real loss! I simply cant figure out where these folks were coming from with their reviews as my experience was lovely. The spa is very clean, pretty decor and big relaxing chair for a foot massage. And yes they begin with a delightful face and scalp massage, as my feet were soaking pleasantly in a nice hot tub - what is not to like about that?! Then on to neck massage - for a nice long time. On to arms and hands - if i had known i would have taken off my jewelry ahead of time. Then the foot massage - very much a traditional Chinese massage on the pressure points. Like Thai foot massage, some is bliss and some is on the edge of painful - while doing it - but then after my feet felt fantastic and i have really bad feet. Lower legs are a part of this as well. I expected this to be all, as my hour was nearly up but no! she told me to turn over and low and behold that nice chair had the little cut out for your face and she did MORE scalp and neck massage, and then went to work on my back. Follow this with the back side of my legs and i was a noodle. I simple did not expect practically an entire body massage for foot massage prices. I highly recommend this place. Oh and i had no problem with English. I am irritated by people who are so intolerant of other cultures (as if they speak Chinese!) that they cant accept a traditional experience for what it is. read more
