I can't say enough good things about Aloha Beach Camp! My son is 7.5 and this is his 3rd summer at Aloha and it's the only camp he wants to do all summer. The third day of camp I woke him up and all sleepy he said "every day at beach camp is the best day of my life". Seriously. I am not making that up. The counselors are kind and care about the kids, they are never forced to do any activity and they take safety seriously. Communication is always answered quickly and when I have asked anything extra (like can they stay on him about wearing his hat) they are happy to help. She has done a mix of sand play, boogie boarding, games, and arts & crafts everyday, and comes home so happy and tired from a full day of activity. Aloha Beach Camp this is the 5th year of camp we signed our son up for. It is really nice when you can drop you child off at the camp bus that is going to drive him to Zuma Beach. There are numerous locations of bus spots to make it easier for the parents. Ethan has had so much fun boogieboarding and he took a surf lessons with the camp counselors. This is his favorite camp to go to. They have various games the kids can play with the counselors setting them up. Or if your child is like mine. They are in the water or chilling on the sand. Last year two of Ethan's friends from middle school joined him at Aloha Beach camp. Both of Ethan's buddies had a awesome time at the beach camp. All 3 boys felt like it was the best camp they have ever gone to. They ratio of counselors to campers is wonderful ! Your children well taken care of and safe. read more

We've been sending our kids to Aloha Beach Camp for years (4 years for one child and 2 for the other), and it continues to be one of their favorite parts of summer. They love the counselors, the activities, and all the games they play throughout the day. The weeks always seem to go by so quickly because they're having such a great time. While the bus ride can be a bit long, it's also the perfect opportunity to wind down or catch a nap after a fun-filled beach day. As parents, we also appreciate how friendly, communicative, and approachable the staff is. My kids (6 & 8) absolutely love Aloha. They wake up in the morning with out any hesitation to get to the bus. They look forward to the bus rides, the songs they sing and meeting new friends. The counselors are mentors for the kids too. Every day my daughter tells me Some fun fact about one of the counselors and always has a new friend at drop off. One of my favorite parts of camp is that they encourage the kids to try something new but don't force it. If your kid loves water, they can be in the water, if they like art or sports they can do that too!!! Aloha is the only camp we keep returning to!!!! read more

This camp makes it easy for your child to escape the summer heat of the SFV. They have buses that take your child to and from camp. You don't have to go everyday, you can select the days you want your kid to attend. The kids love the ocean and all the activities in between swimming, boogie boarding and surfing. The field trips are a great opportunity for your child to experience some independence. The owners respond quickly to any questions or concerns. Well-run and superb supervision. This camp also offers an additional two weeks of camp at the end of summer when most camps have finished - a great opportunity for children on an alternative schedule. We love this camp! read more

This family owned and operated camp is an absolute dream. This was my kids' first summer but it will definitely not be her last! She has had the most wonderful time and comes home exhausted but happy. This camp is joyful and wholesome and fun, plus my daughter has seen so much nature and sea life, which she adores. We've been Aloha campers for 4 years. My two sons emphatically said "5 stars!" when I requested their rating. They love that they can have choice over what they want to do, but everything is really well run and supervised. Well, okay, maybe I added that part! I've interacted with the counselors at the bus and they're always so great! My kids and their 2 cousins have been attending every year. This summer we're kicking things into high gear by going to Hawaii for Aloha HI Beach Camp in Oahu. My kids are finishing up their Malibu time soon and then hitting HI in late July. Aloha Beach Camp is our favorite camp of the summer- hands down! Between the fun activities, the counselors, the transportation and the incredible owners, they really can't be beat. When I first thought about ABC last summer, my kids were in early elementary and I was nervous about signing them up for this camp. I was hesitant about them going all the way to the beach and nervous about how safe they would be (in the ocean, etc) once there. So, before signing up, I went down to Zuma for a beach day and sat next to the camp to check it out. What I saw had me convinced and comfortable leaving my kids in their care. The counselors were fun and engaging, but also had some serious rules and organization that made this camp feel safe and well run. The ratio of counselors to kids is great and they are definitely using safe practice in the water. Plus it's right next to the lifeguard tower which is obviously a plus. My kids come home tired and happy- the best combo- and never say they don't want to go to camp. I really can't say enough great things- we LOVE Aloha Beach Camp! read more

My kids have attended Aloha Beach Camp for the past five summers, and it continues to be one of the highlights of their year! They always look forward to the bus ride, spending time with friends, and participating in the wide variety of activities, including swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, the dunk tank, and visits to the "Sugar Shack". Many of their school friends attend the camp as well, and over the years they've also formed new friendships that they're excited to reconnect with each summer. The staff is attentive, and whenever I have a question, I receive a prompt and helpful response. What makes Aloha Beach Camp truly special is the opportunity for kids to enjoy everything Malibu has to offer in a safe, well-organized, and fun environment. Aloha seems to be the best summer camp for our kids - 8, 6 and 4. They get off the bus smiling and are tired in the evening. We are on our third summer in a row and have a hard time signing up our kids for anything else. The beach never gets old and the field trips to Oxnard Harbor are something to look forward to! This camp was extremely disappointing. They advertise having lots of activities but the only things my son did all week were dig in the sand, boogie board, and stand in the water. He has attended other beach camps where he participated in a variety of activities throughout the day. If other activities were taking place, the counselors clearly did not do a good job of engaging the kids or encouraging them to participate. The transportation was another major issue. My son disliked the bus rides, which were very long, and there was little effort made to keep the children engaged during the trip. Other camps we've attended have counselors lead songs or games on the bus, but that did not happen here. The most frustrating experience occurred on Friday when the bus arrived earlier than scheduled. I was never notified of the schedule change. I arrived five minutes before the bus was even scheduled to arrive only to be "late." When I explained that I had not been notified of a schedule change the counselor's response was dismissive and rude. Meanwhile, my son was left upset and waiting. Better communication with families and more professionalism from staff would go a long way toward improving this program. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this camp. read more

Being first timers to this camp, we came in with an open mindset, as we understood that it offered a wide variety of beach options for the campers. While our kids (8,11) were eager to try out the surf lessons on Day 1, it wasn't until I spoke to Erin (super nice & approachable) at drop offs that clearer directions were given to them so that they could try out the surfing option on Day 2+. All in all, the kids had a fun time at this camp and the bus transportation is a huge plus - had it not been offered, we wouldn't have been able to make the logistics work. The only advice I would have is that for first time campers, to buddy them up with either an experienced camper OR a counselor at least on Day 1, so that the campers better understand how to navigate their day - mine basically sat around and did nothing but sit on the sand on that first day, nearly prompting us to pull them out (if that was to continue all weeklong). Oh, and it would be oh so wonderful if occasional photos would be shared by staff, just so us parents could see all the fun being had by our kids. Overall email communication and responsiveness by Eric & Teri has been on point, though, and they have been so good with getting back to me on any questions I had throughout. I hope we can return again in the near future! read more

My daughter loves Aloha Beach Camp. We did it for 2 weeks last summer and on the last day she cried while getting off the bus because she'd miss the counselors and beach activities. I made sure to add more days this summer. Transportation is easy and convenient. Busses are pretty timely for having to deal with any LA traffic. My child is a tween and it's been hard to find a camp he will actually WANT to go to -and Aloha Beach camp is just that! My kiddo even tried surfing for the first time and only because it was offered through camp. We like Aloha and highly suggest this camp as SAFETY is key and a priority for all Camp Staff and Counselors. It will be our 5th summer with Aloha Beach Camp this year and we still love it. The kids enjoy the beach time, the surf lessons, the Wednesday paddleboarding/kayak outing, the occasional shaved ice truck. It's great that as they get older, they get a little more independence while also still being supervised. Our kiddos love it. And we love the convenience of the bus schedule. Teri is also a great communicator. Sometimes traffic messes with the bus schedule but we've never been worried as the information was always communicated. Highly recommend. read more

My daughter started going here when she was 6 and she absolutely it. We're starting our third summer here and she's so excited for it. The counselors are so much fun and the business is managed really well. It's easy to get answers to any questions you may have. My main concern was safety, and I feel very safe sending my daughter here. There are many counselors around at all times, and they keep the kids safe in the water.
