August 22, 2025 I posted a review that has now been removed. For public safety, I am reposting our experience with this business. YES I DID CALL POLICE FOR THE ASSAULT ON A FIVE YEAR OLD BY A COACH. My daughter is five and had just come back to coach connie after missing 3 weeks of classes. She wasn't sticking the landing so coach Connie wouldn't give her a high five. My daughter was upset and when it was time to send all the girls for water all three girls ran to the water station where I WITNESSED CONNIE GRAB AND YANK MY CHILD BY THE ARM. She turned her entire body around aggressively to threaten her. I ran over and picked my daughter up and told coach connie that there was no reason to ever grab a child like that. My daughter said she was scared and hurting and that coach Connie told her she was going to punish her. I went to the front office where they pulled the footage, confirmed and said my daughter shouldn't have ran around the corner and it is their protocol to grab the child running around the corner. Only my child was grabbed. The coach was frustrated with my child for not sticking the landing and with her crying. This isn't how anybody working with children should react. I contacted the police department which I believe is lapd. They confirmed they saw the coach grab my daughter but that they stated the owner and the coach both said were safety protocols and because she didn't push, hit, or shove that they couldn't prove assault. Disappointing and disgusted to say the least! IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR CHILD SAFE. DONT GO HERE! read more

My daughter has been doing gymnastics here since she was three years old, and she's been on the team for the past six years, training about 20 hours a week. Coach Connie was my daughter's first coach. So I can tell you first hand what an amazing coach she is. In all that time, I have only ever seen a safe, positive, and family-oriented environment. The coaches are incredible -- not only do they help the kids grow as athletes, but they also teach respect, discipline, and responsibility. Sometimes children may not always listen or act respectfully, but I know firsthand that the coaches are always focused on keeping the kids safe and guiding them in the right direction. I have only wonderful things to say about Monarchs gymnastics! My daughter took classes for several months before joining the team. Shes also attended camp there numerous times. She was on the team for two years and loved it! The staff and coaches are friendly and encouraging while also helping the gymnasts reach their full potential. It was a great fit for my daughter who loves soccer as well. My family as well as the family that i work for love Monarchs. All the kids have gone through their programs and 2 of the girls are on team. The coaches are truly great. They are experienced, fair and kind. Lynne who works in the office is also extremely kind and very helpful. Our daughters have attended monarchs for the last 8 years. Our youngest is on the J.O. team and the only reason we allow her to do competitive gymnastics is because of the monarchs' coaches. The gym feels like one big family. After having tried out other local gyms, we feel so fortunate to be a part of Monarchs. My daughter has been going to Monarchs for the past five years and honestly we could not imagine practicing gymnastics anywhere else. The coaching staff and front office have become like a second family to us. And what I like most is that the coaches always stress the importance of safety while at the same time encouraging our kids to accomplish things they never thought they could do. I would wish I read the previous comments. But in summary they have the worst unfriendly make up policies. They only allow you do one make up per student per month. And has to be used in that month only.m, no carry over. 2nd parkour class is just too dangerous. My kid has injured multiple times in a month. Definitely need to Stop enrollment! Called this gymnastics place to ask about what programs they offer my 2.5 year old daughter he told me there is one class at 11 Monday for 2-5 year olds and I should stop by and check it out. I said great is there anything I need to do before coming in ? He asked me to go on their website and sign a waiver for them being in the gym so I said no problem. I called back and asked if I need to do anything else after signing up to their website and signing waiver he said no just bring grip socks . Ok no problem. It was the only class they offered during the day so we switched all of our schedule around to be available and We drove 30 mins to this class. I was 10 mins early so I go in to see if there are paper work or I have to pay for class before or anything I need to do to not waste the teachers time and the lady at front just said didn't anyone tell you not to walk in earlier than 5 mins before ? I was a bit taken back but I apologized and said no but I was wondering if I needed to sign anything else since I'm here for my toddler to try out a class ? She said we don't even have you in the system come back in 5 mins and drop off your kid by the door because parents can't come in. I said excuse me but I was not told that this is a drop off class my child is 2.5 and I don't even know anything about the class who it's with or how it is I don't feel comfortable just dropping off my child without knowing anything and she said well this is how it is. She said if you want to do the workouts with your toddler sign up for a parent and me classes at other gyms, and I said no that is not what I was interested in but you have no option to watch your kids from the distance or even outside and I don't even know who the teacher is or how the class is since this is our tryout so I do not feel comfortable leaving my 2 year old in strangers hands and have her have a negative feeling and separation anxiety as well towards gymnastics in general and I apologized and said I don't feel comfortable doing that. I was so frustrated and it would have been lovely to be told that earlier on in advance. I checked with a few other moms and some other gymnastics places and they said that is unheard of for parents not to have an option to be there for the first tryout class and after to observe from the distance at the very least . The place looked pretty dark, old and outdated as well and the front entrance and rugs looked pretty dirty anyways . I guess it was a blessing to not go in but no way would I ever leave my toddler somewhere like that read more

My daughter has trained & competed with Monarchs for the past year (level 7), and I want to give them a well-deserved shout out here. Coach Vadym cares about the kids as if they were his own - he is patient & supportive, & he seriously rebuilt my daughter's confidence after it was crushed by some coaches from her prior gym. Plus, it's very reassuring for us parents to have a muscle man right there to catch your daughter while she's flying through the air off of the high bars! Whether it was spotting her on vault, bars, or helping her overcome a back handspring mental block she had for a few months during mid season, my daughter felt very safe trying new skills with him by her side. Coach Elona is also great - she's a perfect mix of tough love - pushing the girls to do better than they think they can, but also having their back. Tanya and Lynne kept everything very organized in the office, and I've been very happy with the communication. In being there just a year, between the wonderful staff and the super nice gymnastics families we met (and became friends with), in the span of just one year, we felt like Monarchs was family. The only downside for us is that the gym itself is just too far from our home, and the commute turned out to be too much for our schedule. If you are closer to the Agoura area and your child wants to do competitive gymnastics in a safe (yet challenging) and happy place, Monarchs is the perfect place to be! My daughters and son started gymnastics classes in 2003 at Monarchs. Now, it's time for our families next generation to take gymnastics classes. My granddaughter and I look forward to every Tuesday seeing Coach Connie in the Parent/Tot class. It's fun for us all. My granddaughter loves doing things her mommy did when she was younger. In the first class, my daughter did a cartwheel as my granddaughter watched, she copied doing a forward roll all by herself. To say I grew up in this gym is an understatement. I spent over ten years as a competitive gymnast at Monarchs and I learned so much about life here. I now take my two year old daughter to the Parent and Me class. Her coach, coach Connie is absolutely amazing! My daughter talks about her gymnastics class and everything she learns there throughout the entire week! From personal experience I know that the staff; coaches and front desk is beyond wonderful and the gym is kept in clean condition. My daughter and I attend the 1-2 1/2 yr old class and WE LOVE IT! It took a couple weeks for my daughter to warm up to all the new and exciting things but Coach Connie is the best! She is so energetic and so wonderful with the kids! She keeps the kids moving from one activity to the next, and teaches in such a loving way. She made us feel right at home from the get go. We recently started attending classes again after a long break due to the pandemic. So happy to see the high quality management and friendly service from Lynn at the front desk! She really goes the extra mile to make it happen. It cannot be easy running such a dynamic business with many different age groups and class options. She juggles it all and still has time for a friendly smile and checking in! The teachers are great with the kids and do a fantastic job of meeting the kids where they are at and building up their skill level and confidence. Love this place, they have such a big facility and an additional parkour gym right next to it. I take my daughter to gymnastics and my son to parkour, they both love it. I love coach Russ he's a great parkour and gymnastics instructor, he's patient and very motivating he's got a great teaching style and my kids love him. The office staff is top notch coaches are great, and gym is always clean. read more

I have my girl in a 3 year old class. Her teacher is great- she's attentive, creative with what they're doing, friendly, and upbeat. Perfect for teaching young ones. The reason I'm only giving 3 stars is because of the other staff I've encountered and watched. Their younger staff they have is lazy, bored, and easily distracted. I'm surprised their parents pay for class from a 15 year old who talks through most of the class. I'll say that this is me watching through a glass and my observations, maybe they're speaking in length about how to point their toes and straighten their legs? I highly doubt it. Also the first time I came in, I knew nothing of where to go, who my teacher was or anything. She was completely unhelpful and was annoyed that I asked her to show us where to go. I had to guess the first few times on where they should be! It was confusing and should NOT be. Their flips and tricks class looks pretty great. Attentive teacher and looks like a lot of fun! I'm not saying don't come here, but you should probably make sure your child's teacher isn't 15 years old. Also, don't expect much help from the office staff. read more

We had a birthday party for our 7 year old daughter on a Sunday. From the moment we arrived, the staff was as helpful as could be! We had to move a ton of food and drinks inside, and they totally helped us. Staff was incredibly nice and seemed very interested in making our experience great. Now its play time for the kiddies, and these two coaches named Linden and Lisa were AMAZING! There were about 11 kids in our party, and they were having a blast with all the activities. The games were well organized, and the coaches are attentive to safety. (important because you have to sign a liability waiver before the party starts).. Anyway, the smiles on all the kids during the party were absolutely priceless. Especially for our daughter. The games were all fun, and very interactive. The kids were having a great time. The floor space for all their activities is ENORMOUS! One of the coolest things was for my daughter they have this apparatus in which they attached her and made it like she was flying. She was in HEAVEN!! The only downside is that the parents are not allowed in the gym area during the parties. They do allow it for the parents of the birthday kid, but all the other parents must stay out of the area. I'm not sure why. But regardless, the parents can see through the huge glass window how their kids are doing. And they were all doing great! So many parents complimented us on what a great party it was, and we thought that it was mainly great because of the staff. At the end of the day, my daughter felt like it was a tremendously fun birthday, and so did the kids, and so did the other parents..... We would totally have another birthday party there! read more

Unfortunately, our experience was deplorable: (1) when we first came in, the desk attendance (manager?) was rude and extremely unprofessional; (2) the premises weren't clean; (3) although we paid in advance, my son's name was not found in the computer system. I love this place and we spend a lot of time here. With two girls - who couldn't be more different- I so appreciate how the coaches see each child for who they are. The coaches have skills! Not just as gymnasts, but they understand all types of kids and always seem to find ways of motivating them to enhance their strengths and overcome their challenges. I'm sitting in my son's first parkour class at the Monarx parkour gym in Agoura. He is in seventh heaven. Coach Cooper is great with the kids. He is really patient and gives lots of encouragement and constructive criticism to the boys. We will be back! read more

My daughter has been coming to Monarchs Agoura Hills for a year now and we couldnt be happier. She loves it and goes twice a week for two hours at a time and has never complained once. She loves her coaches (Coach Gosha and Coach Erica). They do a great amount of strength and conditioning and making sure the kids have proper form before attempting anything they are not ready for and I value that. Gymnastics is not an easy sport by any means and it takes a lot of patience and guidance to properly teach technique. My son has been attending for almost 6 months, we started when he was 2.5 years old. He loves loves loves Coach Connie and Coach Ailin. He goes twice a week because he has so much fun. He is learning patience and taking direction and waiting his turn. The coaches are so patient with the little ones. In addition to my kids, I go to the adult class twice a week. I have met amazing people in this class and we have such a great time doing gymnastics. Coach Ailin is so patient with us and she really roots us on to try new skills when we are ready. I value my now friendships with these coaches and friends I have made by going so many days a week to Monarchs. My daughter also attends summer camp sporadically when our schedule allows and she cannot get enough. She refuses to go for half day, she has to go full day and the second I pick her up, she wants to go back the next day. Great and busy facility with classes like parkour. Prices are very reasonable ! I feel like it's good value for your money

I brought my daughter's here for a half day, Parkour session. They were only there for 3 hours and there was no Parkour or Gymnastics, like the schedule said. My daughter's said the teachers were not paying attention and they felt unsupervised. They also said when one of the kids got hurt, the teachers did nothing. They mentioned the teachers were complaining to each other, about how long they had worked there. I'm assuming they didn't want to be there anymore. We had considered looking into gymnastic classes, but after this experience, we won't be going back. read more

We LOVE Monarchs Gymnastics!! We started in their Mommy and Me class and we have worked our way up through kinder 1, 2, and 3 classes. We have also done Wonder Girl, Cheer Tots (my daughters favorite class), and Kinder camp! Both of my girls have learned SO much in a short amount of time. All of the coaches are always so warm and friendly and every year has been such a positive, fun experience for them and a "money well spent" experience for me since they're actually learning real skills that can help in any future athletic venture, not just gymnastics. The thing I probably appreciate most is how seriously they take safety.
