Kids In Motion - Kids in Motion - Summer Camps Near Me

My son has attended Kids in Motion summer camp for 5 years. He's a fifth grader now and already the thing he is most excited about is attending Coach Russell's camp with his friends! He is counting the years until he will be eligible to be a CIT. When I asked my son why he likes Coach Russell and Kids in Motion so much he said "it is the best camp because there is something for everyone and everyone is included. If you like sports and games there are lots to play. If you want to do art or trading cards you can also do those activities." While my son didn't use the word inclusive, I think what he was getting at and what I have seen is that Coach Russell and his exceptional staff create such a sense of inclusivity, of excitement and of belonging among their campers and within the community. Other things my son (and I!) love about camp--there's a super great variety of activities each day including water slides and other fun adventures. Kids are grouped very thoughtfully by age/grade level into groups so there's not a big range of ages. It feels very safe and secure to me as a parent but kids also get a chance to meet other kids who are similar in terms of age. We always run into Coach Russell camp campers around town after the summer is over! On a more practical note, Coach Russell is also extremely responsive to email, extremely organized and great at communication! If you're looking for a day camp opportunity in the Conejo Valley Kids in Motion is just the best! read more

The camp is amazing. Everyone is super nice. We play a lot of very fun games and sports. I completely recommend this camp.

My kids have gone to Kids in motion for 10 years. It was the only camps either of my boys wanted to go to during the Summers and now my daughter only wants to be at Kids in motion as well! Boys and girls love this camp more than anything, and I truly believe it is because of the pure happiness and positive encouragement that the owner and ringleader brings every day and to each one of his counselors that are with the kids! I can't say enough good things about this camp and the people that run it! 11 out of 10!!!! read more

Kids in Motion has been a must do every summer for my kids for the past 4 years and we keep coming back every year. Our 9 yo girl and 10 yo boy have somewhat different interests, but they both find something to love every day about this camp. Whether it's meeting new friends and doing arts and crafts or playing sports, slipping and sliding on the water inflatables, and getting their energy out on obstacle courses, my kids have an absolute blast every day. The camps are extremely well organized and the counselors are very good with the kids. We have known Coach for over a decade, and he is truly a gem of a person and runs this awesome program. He is not only positive, kind, fun-loving, encouraging but also runs a tight ship at this camp. The camp is packed with exciting planned activities and is located in a safe and secluded campus of a private elementary school in a quiet neighborhood. My child, a big fan of Coach, never could get enough of the camp since kindergarten. We, as parents, have trusted Coach to look after our child during summer year after year, and we have not been disappointed. We had Coach Russell come out to host sports for my 9-year-olds birthday party. This is a group of competitive boys, so I was nervous about a sports birthday party. Coach Russell took the field with his positive energy, fair rules, and love of sports. Coach Russell ensured that these boys had SO MUCH FUN playing tennis baseball and dodgeball. The kids were laughing, dancing, hugging each other...just a really positive field environment. They would have kept playing until the sun went down if they could! My 9-year-old claimed that it was his favorite party EVER! If you want a sports birthday party to run incredibly smooth and cheerful, Coach Russell is your guy! read more
