When leaving lunch, i noticed this place a couple doors down. My kid loves swee so i decided to stop in and see if they had something worth getting. I was greeted as soon as i entered the establishment. I can say that it was a bit clustered on the counters. The associate explained each cupcake flavor to me so i really appreciated that. I got two peanut butter cookies, one caramel crunch cupcake and an iced vanilla latte. The latte was really good, the coffee was fresh, it woke me right up after that meal lol. You can definitely tell it's a bakery. It smelt heavenly inside. The menu also caught my eye since I am a breakfast person and their options made my eyes widen. Came here with my dad on a Monday around 12 PM for lunch, I ordered the Hawaiian chicken sandwich and he ordered a sandwich. We both got fries on the side. The Hawaiian chicken sandwich was really really buttery and the sodium content was crazy. The pineapple basically tasted salty and buttery, which wasn't the best. My stomach was hurting a little by the time I stopped eating, and I left a little left on the plate along with a lot of fries. The smell in here is really really strong and unpleasant. If you're grabbing a coffee or a pastry to go, don't worry about this. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend staying here for a meal like we did. This definitely affected my appetite. read more

Ever since I first saw the spam musubi, I had been hankering to try it. Finally made my way over today and accomplished that. The menu prices on their website do not match that of their in store menus. The spam musubi I ordered was $10.95, instead of $8.95. I waited around ten minutes for it and when it finally arrived, I was shocked at the size. It's very small (see pictures). The taste is akin to anything tempura fried. The spam goes unnoticed, zero of that salty spam flavor comes through. For me, the biggest disappointment was the value. $10.95 for spam and rice wrapped in a little bit of seaweed. I truly fail to see what they're charging for. This isn't made with sushi grade tuna; it's budget friendly meat in a can. And the size is truly laughable. I actually stopped somewhere else and bought a sandwich as well. For like $4 more you can go to the poke company and get an entire bowl of delicious tuna and tons of mix ins, and have a meal that will actually fill you up and is made with healthy, quality ingredients. The service left much to be desired as well. The woman working there, was emotionless and barely functioning. One of those server robots they have at toojays is probably friendlier. When I asked her for a recommendation On how I should get the musubi (crunchy or not) she said she didn't know, she never tried it and has a sensitive stomach. I'd love to tell her it tastes like nothing so she should try it, but honestly, I don't see a reason or feel a need to go back. There is tastier food for better value to be found elsewhere. Also, oddly, the showcase of baked goods is in desperate need of being replaced. I find this odd because after all, it is a bakery, and you'd expect that to be the most appealing part of the bakery but instead it was old and the exterior was filthy, the mirror glass on the inside was all cracked up, and it just looked like it was at least 20 years old and ready for the glue factory. Doesn't exactly entice one to buy what's being displayed inside. read more

My friend and I decided to have brunch at the Aloha Bakery and Cafe this morning. This was the first time we have ever been here, and I was pleasantly surprised with the interior of the restaurant. Upon entering, we were greeted with a cheerful "Aloha"! They have bakery display cases with all of their yummy goodies inside, but also an area to sit and enjoy a meal. My friend got the pancakes, and I got the serious avocado crepe. He really enjoyed his pancake breakfast, and my crepe was out of this world! My perfectly made crepe was filled with scrambled eggs, avocado, and feta cheese. So delish! We were too full to try at any of their bakery goodies but I definitely will be back! We had a good lunch here over the weekend. They were busy with folks still having breakfast and I liked that you could get breakfast as well as lunch. They had a special for each meal, too. We've been to this shopping center before so we were familiar with it. The restaurant faces the Street -- the GPS directions may have you driving in a strange direction. It's right down from Bonefish Grill. They have a patio area for outside seating as well as inside seating. We grabbed the last open inside table. My husband got their breakfast special -- a wrap with scrambled eggs, choice of cheese, bacon or sausage, onions, and Hawaiian potatoes. It was a fat wrap stuffed with goodies. He chose cheddar cheese and bacon. He said it was slightly sweet -- which we figured out later were the sweet potatoes in the Hawaiian potatoes (!). I got their Turkey and Brie sandwich. It came on focaccia bread. In addition to some Brie and a lot of sliced white meat Turkey, there were the thinnest slices of green apples (for crunchy texture) and whole cranberry sauce for sweetness. I was not that fond of the bread, but otherwise really liked the sandwich. I'd get it again on another type of bread, perhaps. Or maybe if the bread had been toasted? The sandwich came with a choice of side and i got a side salad. I'm not a big fan of mixed or frisée lettuces, so I ate the cucumbers and tomatoes off the top of the salad -- and left the greens. For drinks, they have quite a selection. I was in the mood for iced coffee (which I never order), but they had decaf iced so I ordered it. My only small quibble was that they didn't carry skim milk -- only whole milk, soy or almond milk. But I made do. It's served in a tiki mug. The iced coffee was delicious. And I made sure to take the remaining coffee in a to go cup. I'd like to come back and try some of their pastries. The cookies and cupcakes in the case looked very appealing. A good lunch today at Aloha Bakery. Some very artistic cakes and pastries in the bakery cases greet you as you walk in, as well as friendly staff, inviting you to sit anywhere you'd like. I ordered the Aloha Breakfast Special, a grilled wrap filled with scrambled eggs, onions, potatoes, sweet potato bits and your choice of meat, ( I chose bacon over sausage and of the cheeses I chose cheddar). Our orders were delivered promptly once completed and I enjoyed my wrap. Rootbeer was my beverage of choice and, inspite of them not having coca-cola, was a good flavor pairing. The pastries looked very enticing but my wrap was so huge, I had no room to enjoy a selection. Fresh baked Rugulah sitting in the baking pan cooling. The crispy chocolate overflowing each corner. Rock sugar on the top just glistening in the light of a Sunday afternoon food court. The employee, young woman was quite nice and accomidotaing. A second woman popped out and adding fresh cupcakes to the cooled display. Both were nice and added value. They appear to bake for several local businesses and keep extra and leftovers for this mall based location. After popping two chocolate treats my son decided to grab a Cannoli Cupcake on the way out. It was devoured during the car ride home and said it was fresh and loaded with the filling in addition to cannoli shell chips on top. read more

I have been meaning to check out Aloha; hooray for new bakeries! Aloha is more than 'just' a bakery though; they are a full blown cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, plus an ice cream station inside the store (in the middle, not with the bakery items). When I stopped by, the cafe part of the store was hopping. This seems to be a busy business with a loyal customer base; good for them! I was so pleased to feast my eyes on the beautiful baked goods and cupcakes that I forgot to notice the lack of any prices, nor descriptive labels. This is usually a pet peeve of mine, because it is frustrating to have to keep asking an employee what something is and how much it costs. However, this strategy must be working for Aloha, since people purchase their goods regardless. There is something freeing about ordering without looking at pricing, which is what I began to do immediately. I didn't ask about a single price, just began ordering items right and left! I was so enamored with the small boxes of bread pudding that I ordered one of these as well. Well, in the end, it is a good thing there were zero prices or I may not have made the same purchases! For 1 small tin of bread pudding, 4 croissants, 1 muffin, and 2 tiny rainbow cookies, my bill came to over $25. Not exorbitant, but a good reminder that I will need to ask for prices next time. The bread pudding was undeniably delicious. It was moist, with layers, and the flavor was a lovely coconut. I can't comment on the other items since I gave them to my family. I have since learned that Aloha makes donuts on the weekends, including something very Hawaiian sounding that stands out; I look forward to trying to snag some on a weekend morning! read more

Overall 2/5 Food 1/5: got a cream puff, coffee and quiche. The cream puff was stale and it was basic whipped cream. The coffee was very bitter. The quiche was literally a block of egg. It wasn't even slightly creamy. It was an over cooked block of egg. Not good. Atmosphere 4/5: decor is very cute and it's a clean place. Service 2/5: they skipped over us 2 times. They also took forever to even acknowledge our existence. I almost left but someone finally acknowledged me before I left. Cute spot! Went here based on other reviews and it definitely didn't disappoint. I was sat upon arrival, staff is super attentive and friendly. I came during the week around 9am, they weren't too busy for dine in but were doing quite a few takeout orders. The restaurant isn't very big but can seat a decent amount of people. There is a large baked goods/dessert display right when you walk in, ice cream display and bar seating area when you walk in. I came for the breakfast, the Aloha scramble hit the spot- Scrambled eggs with Portuguese sausage, served with potatoes and toast. The coffee is delicious also. Yelpers helped me find this gem. I was leaving my doctors appointment around lunchtime and looked up Best Lunch Near Me. Aloha Bakery came up and I am so glad it did. I followed the directions and it brought me to the Boynton Beach Mall. No one mentioned that it was in the mall food court and I hesitated going in but I decided to go in. I got the lime chicken, organic vegetables and macaroni salad. Everything was absolutely scrumptious. The lime chicken was in a sauce that was out of this world delicious. The vegetables were really good and the macaroni salad was GREAT! I make my own macaroni salad but this was a simple macaroni salad with just the right amount of a mayo dressing on it to rival mine. It was pure macaroni and dressing, nothing else, nothing fancy but absolutely delicious. I was going to my daughter's house so I picked up a pineapple upside down cake for her dessert. She called me later to tell me that it was the very best pineapple cake she has ever had. (I was a little jealous since I make a pineapple upside down cake too!). I am looking forward to going back to enjoy another sampling of deliciousness. Try it out. The girl behind the counter was so excited about each dish and bakery item that she told me about. I really enjoyed lunch today but there were a few things that turned a 5 star review into a 4. While our server was very friendly and accommodating, he was not very knowledgeable about the menu. I had asked if I could get the Lomi Salmon added on to my salad instead of the cooked salmon and he was clueless as to what Lomi was. If you're working at a Hawaiian restaurant, that might be a good thing to know. Second on the list we're the cucumbers that were in my salad; they were soggy and on the verge of rotting but somehow the salad was still tasty. Third on my list of improvements is that it was super hot in the restaurant, and I'm someone that's always cold. I sat in one of the booths and was almost sweating. I don't think all of these negative points would keep me from returning though. I will definitely be back and would definitely recommend! Came here for lunch with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. The inside is not that big for social distancing however they do have plenty of outdoor seating which is appreciated. I ordered the tuna Maui Melt ($12.95) with cucumber salad on the side. The bread was a homemade focaccia that was unfortunately on the rubbery side. The tuna was just okay. I should've ordered it on a croissant. My husband ordered the Lau Lau Sliders ($8.95). He enjoyed it but it was a little on the dry side and he would've liked more of the Sweet Hawaiian Dizzle sauce. My friend ordered the Grilled Turkey & Brie sandwich ($13.95) which sounded good on paper but was just okay. And just for fun we ordered the Spam Fries ($7.95) served with spicy garlic sriracha and Spam Musubi ($8.95) served with Teriyaki Sauce to share. Honestly these were the best! I am a barista and had a mocha -- it was alright! About the same level as other mom and pop breakfast places. The reason for the 5 stars is the service and food were IMPECCABLE. We had a very very sweet waitress. I had the Maui tuna melt. I was expecting a basic tuna melt but was BLOWN AWAY!! their house-baked rosemary focaccia was mouth watering. Aloha is located in the Renaissance Commons shopping plaza. They opened at the end of 2019. My friend recently visited and posted tempting looking pictures of her meal and dessert on Facebook. After a bad experience at a different place the night before I wanted an enjoyable dinner that I didn't have to cook. Aloha is open during Covid-19 and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can order by phone, online, or as I did in person. Feel free to walk in. They aren't like some places that treat you like a leper for patronizing them. It was empty except for one other person so I was perfectly safe. If you don't feel comfortable walking in I'm sure they would be happy to bring your food to the door. I was greeted warmly and invited to wait inside while my meal was prepared. I ordered the Bora Bora ribs dinner ($18.95) marinated in Polynesian sauce. It came with two sides and I picked the Hawaiian slaw and vegetable of the day which was asparagus. I also got two of the $3.95 cupcakes, the Italian cannoli and coffee flavors. Other menu items include Huli Huli chicken, poke, salads, and crepes. I could smell the delicious aroma of the ribs the entire ride home. As soon as I walked into the door I tore into my box. They were fall off the bone finger looking good. I was surprised by how large of a portion I was given. I actually had to save some for the next day so I could have room for my dessert. The slaw was not mayo based or vinegary. Instead it was fruity with pineapple pieces. The asparagus was perfectly cooked. Between the asparagus and cabbage I felt a little healthy so I could be indulgent with dessert. Of the two cupcakes, the cannoli cupcake was my favorite of the two. It was the perfect mashup of my two favorite desserts. Even though there were only two guys working they had me out in ten minutes. It would be even quicker if you want to call ahead. My review is totally based on their cupcakes; loved their Cannoli, Salted Carmel, Coconut, Smoors, Strawberry shortcake, Peanut butter & Boston Cream cupcakes ... As my husband and I were driving around looking for a place that was open during this pandemic, we popped in here after I suggested seeing the spot on Yelp and remembering others that have checked in here prior to the visit. What a cute Hawaiian themed and delicious place! It's a shame that we couldn't have ate in, so we got takeouts. The thing that caught our eyes when we walked in was the bakery counter. All of the sweet treats looked so good and it's hard not to get something from that section as well. In fact, I knew what I wanted for desserts (yes, more than one ;)) before even ordering dinner. Dessert before dinner, eh? Why not? There were several dinner menu items that were tough to choose from. I got the grilled turkey and brie sandwich with granny smith apple and cranberry chutney along with a side of jasmine rice. I wasn't sure how it was going to taste and it exceeded my expectations. The combination of apple and cranberry was the magic to the 'wich. The bread pudding would have been better heated, but it was still good chilled. The tiramisu was lovely and the caramel cupcake is the bomb. I normally don't go for chocolate cupcakes and the frosting on the cupcake was perfection. It wasn't too rich and the taste was lightly balanced with the cupcake and frosting. The two gentlemen that were working there when we went in greeted us and were very friendly. I was glad that they were open and we were able to try something fun and new. We didn't have to wait long for the food to come out and it was presented nicely in the to-go boxes. I wanted to so badly to like this place but it fell completely flat for me. The initial ordering process turned me off immedently. I was in the online menu and called to ask a question about an item. While on the phone the person suggested that I just order on the phone. I agreed and ordered the plate lunch, he gave me my total and I was confused. He stated my lunch was $14.95 although the online price was $10.95. I mentioned this to him but he said that special had passed. (Then why do you have it on your menu???) I ordered that specific entree because I thought it was on special. With tip and tax the total was $17.00 which is out of my regular lunch budget. Upon arriving to the restaurant, the person behind the counter was helping other guests. He was explained about the baked goods. I had been planning on purchasing a dessert but he said the cupcakes $4.99 or 4 for $16 was the price for the cupcakes. I was a bit surprised. I thought they were very expensive. Plus, I felt they didn't look super fresh. I ended up skipping dessert. Upon returning home I opened up the box and was disappointed. I ordered the plate lunch which had one chicken thigh and pulled pork with white rice and macaroni salad. The chicken was delicious but ice cold. The pork lacked flavor and salt. The rice was dry and was unsalted. (I live with a Cuban and we make/eat rice daily). The macaroni salad had great flavor but lacked texture. It needed celery or cabbage, it needed a bit of crunch. Overall, I was disappointed with my lunch. It really lacked overall value. Maybe they could offer a lunch menu with more value? This was my first experience and probably my last. Uhm OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE! So cute, service great, Hawaiian themed and they had LILO AND STITCH my favorite! I came here for breakfast with fellow Yelper, Christina, and we were impressed. The menu is extensive and was hard to narrow down but I finally chose an omelet with feta, avocado and mushrooms, cilantro rice and a chocolate chip muffin. Complete with amazing ice coffee. The food was great, but the rice was a little crispy (not a game changer though). They have everything from eggs to pancakes to crepes a bakery and ice cream PLUS STITCH! Grabbed the aloha scramble to go yesterday for a late breakfast. There was a sign on the door that they were only accepting cash so bring cash when you go just in case. I wanted to try one of the Hawaiian donuts that was on the menu but they didn't have any. The potatoes that came with the scramble had a mix of sweet potatoes which was so tasty. The scramble had Portuguese sausage in it which was a nice change. Since they are new the workers seem to be all in training. They were young and seemed to have no service experience. I got the blank stare of a deer in lights by 3 different people when I walked in. No greeting, no welcome. When I went to order I was pushed to someone else with 2 others hovering over her while she tried to take my order. Which was then taken over by a young gentleman. The food was delicious but I think they need to take the time out to teach the staff how to greet people, learn the menu and get more of a process down for smoother transactions for their guests. All the baked goods on display looked delicious and I'm excited to try more from the menu but I'll wait a little while till they get things in order. read more

I never saw the inside so I can't speak on that, we were seated outside in the shade but it was a bit too warm after a while. The servers were nice but our food took about 45+ min to arrive which was a bit long for us. I'm not sure if they had forgotten about us outside or if they were just busy as a whole. I ordered the tuna melt and seasoned fries which were amazing, and the strawberry pistachio Nutella crepe. I had high expectations for the crepe but it was just ok. The presentation of it was beautiful though! There wasn't much taste to it, however. Overall the servers were kind but I do wonder if the long wait time is typical for them. We stopped by Aloha since we had a coupon for a BOGO ice cream. We were surprised to see they offered a full array of items for breakfast, lunch and dinner in addition to the variety of pastries and ice cream. We were warmly greeted by the woman working behind the counter, and she promptly scooped us cups of peach and cookies & cream ice cream. The ice cream had a decent quality but was not as rich or creamy as some other ice cream brands. Unfortunately there were no other customers in the Aloha Bakery & Café during our visit. They are a new business and could benefit from more advertising and better signage on their door and front windows. The sign on the building in front of the restaurant was not lighted either. Although the place is welcoming and has a nice atmosphere, people walking by don't have a clear idea of their offerings. They are located in a busy shopping center with several popular restaurants, so with some additional brand awareness, maybe Aloha will become a go-to place as well. This is because I only believe in "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything ." This is the case most of the time unless I find a place so bad that I think it's important to warn others to not waste their time and money. Ok, on to the review. So this is somewhat of a hidden gem. This place is known for their baked goods. What is overlooked is their amazing food! They specialize in Hawaiian cuisine. In my opinion some of the best food you can eat when you get the opportunity. I had the loco Moco and my wife had the huli huli chicken and our daughter had the chicken Katsu. All three were amazing. Very authentic. It is nice to have a bakery nearby where I live and items they have are amazing. I have visited this place a few times, and most times, my experience has been great. Although this place is a bakery, they also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. Having tried a few things on the item, I found the black bean potato burger to be the best. It is delicious as it savory and sweetness. Also, it is a great option for vegetarians. I also love the caprese crepe. You don't find too many restaurants that serve crepes, so it was a huge plus that this one did. I also cannot forget their macaroni salad. Although it is basic and simple, it works as is because my mom and I absolutely love ordering it. As for baked goods, they make a lot of baked stuff from cupcakes, tarts, and muffins. It is not the same stuff everyday, but it is one of the reasons why I keep coming to this place. The cupcakes are great. They are probably pretty pricy since they are cupcakes but be aware that most of them have a filling, so it makes it worth it. Almost all are delicious and moist. If there is one thing that is a must is the mini upside down pineapple cake. It is sooooo delicious. It is caramely on the outside and moist on the inside. It isn't a slice but it is baked as a mini cake. It is also reasonable priced and pretty big for a mini cake so that is a must have. Having said that, try any of their baked goods because they have been all amazing. Of course, there are a few things that I wasn't a fan of. I tried their maui melt which happens to be a recommended item on their menu. The texture is like pate and it comes warm. I found it to be a weird texture and it just seemed odd. The staff is also very friendly. I have come across some staff members who are new so it might take some time to process orders. There have only be a few times where I had to wait for long times for my orders but it is typically on the weekends when it gets busy. Overall, I recommend coming to this place. It is refreshing and nice. They have a stand of goodies to view so you want to devour the baked items. Also, the food is relatively good such as the burger, sides, and crepes. read more

Stopped by for a quick healthy lunch break. The bakery display looked amazing. Also a great ice cream variety inside too. I ordered the avocado creep and the caprice he crate. I feel like the avocado creepy needed a sauce it would've been really good with like a Mexican style salsa or something on top, that being said it was quite tasty and healthy. The caprese crepe was lovely. The s'mores crepe was also quite tasty but it needed more chocolate drizzle. A side of the goodness to pour on would go a long way. Location When one drives down Congress you might notice Aloha. I did and looked it up online. In the renaissance's commerce plaza are several restaurants and parking might be a nightmare on a busy night. We went for lunch and had no issues. Decor & music & cleanliness Simple earth tones with cute large light features. It's a tight space with tables and booths as seating options. No outdoor seating. They have a tv with local Hawaiian music. I didn't particularly care for it. To me it sounds like someone whining; but not to others. One of their cups came with lipstick stain. Which sucks, overall the restaurant appears to be clean. Menu Breakfast is served until 2pm, dinner is served at 4pm, they close at 8pm. They have sweet and savory crepes, quesadillas, sandwiches, and more. We want to come back and try their breakfast menu. The food felt like it took a while to make. We were hungry so it might not have been as long as it felt. I ate the Italian savory crepe. I really like cheese and there was plenty. The smell of the dressing was overwhelming yet the soft crepe, chicken, and most of the cheese was cooked to perfection. The lunch plate is a generous amount. The chicken had bits that was under cooked. The pulled pork was VERY dry. If you order a side of soy sauce it saves the plate. The pasta/Mac and cheese is cold and it would taste so much better warm. This menu item has potential to be good unfortunately this time it wasn't. Price Range from $10 and up. They have lots of fun tea and a wide range of coffee and desserts to try. Would I come back? This is not your ordinary American cupcake shop. Not really Hawaiian but you can definitely find something special here. Here cupcakes are not too sweet , but has delicate yet complex flavors. The lady works here said there's filling in the coconut custard donut but there was not so it's a 4 star. If there was filling in my donut, it's a solid 5 star bakery. Flavor of the donut was very similar to the Korean/Japanese ones. I recommend black forest cupcake. I don't recommend their cookie. Tasted like Costco ones.. read more
