Cute little boutique hotel in the area. My nephew graduated from Cornell and this was the closest accommodations we could find. It's clean and quaint. Within walking distance to a ton of restaurants and the Destiny USA mega mall. Front desk staff here is super friendly. The gym is cute and they even have an indoor pool. Rooms are equipped with a safe, fridge, individual coffee/tea maker. The bed was actually comfortable too. The walls are pretty thin though so beware. Housekeeping the neighboring rooms woke us up every day of our stay. I do like that you don't have to pay extra for parking as well. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. read more

We stay here simply for the cheap stay. The scent across the hotel is sooo strong. Some cleaning or Fabreeze stay. It's brutal. Pillows are terrible so bring your own. The counter area by the food ordering and shelves have crumbs everywhere. The water in the lobby is always out. I'm surprised that I was able to find an Aloft hotel in Syracuse. When I saw it listed in Yelp, I knew it was my hotel choice. The Aloft hotel brand are all pretty much the same from Boston to Virginia. Their concept is simple, make the lobby stylish and the room layout contemporary. It makes for a totally choice stay. My check in was easy, I went to the front desk and showed my credentials. Once I was given my room key, I was chillin' like a villain with luxurious sheets and superior bath products. Beer recommendation: Hamburg Berry Berry Sneaky Although, the bartender poured the wrong beer twice when it was asked for. Drinks were a problem. I had a one night stay here for work. Aloft is a Marriott brand which I hadn't yet tried. There is a free parking lot across the street from the hotel. The lobby is a retro club/ radio vibe. There is a bar area, lounge and breakfast/ food area in the lobby. Check-in was east, staff is friendly. There is a small pool and a decent workout area also on the first floor. My room was on the second floor near the elevator but I had no issues with noise overnight. The room was clean and well laid out. Outlets and usb ports on each side of the bed. A decent workspace. Bathroom was clean and good water pressure. As far as location, the Destiny Mall is across the harbor. You can see it from the hotel. There are restaurants within 1-2 miles but nothing walkable. But that seems to be the norm for Syracuse. read more

In A Nutshell: -The Aloft here in Syracuse is in a good location. -Lot's of open fields surrounding the area plus the lake. -It's also about 1.5 miles from downtown which is good to get some steps in by walking. -The hotel itself has pretty spacious. -Check in & check out was easy. -They have a free shuttle service you just have to let the receptionist know where you want to go & reserve the time slot. -Ubers & Lyft drivers can also easily get to you. -The room was pretty big & the bed was very comfortable. -There is a bar in the lobby area, they guy who works there named Max is extremely nice, great guy. -If you need to do laundry, they have one coin-operated washer & one coin-operated dryer on the top floor, which is very convenient. Overall, I had a really nice stay & it's very close to the Syracuse airport, which was an added bonus. read more

We were happy to stayed here last month for an overnight trip. Clean room, friendly staff, great location to Destiny Mall and easy to get back on I-81. They didn't have free continental breakfast like in some hotels but they had free hot beverages and fruits. You can buy other things and order from a limited menu. I had stayed here for a few nights, as I was having some renovations done to my home here. The bed when I checked in, had some long black hairs on it. Made me second guess whether or not it was actually cleaned. The service was alright, they came and fixed the issue. But I feel it shouldn't have been there to begin with you know? Close to Destiny USA in a revitalized part of Syracuse next to to the inner harbor. A very modern hotel concept. The check in area is right in the middle of the entrance so it WILL get loud during happy hour and when the music is turned up. Wasn't a fan of that. Also, the cafeteria area was near by with self service items. The day we were there, breakfast options were danishes, toast/bagels and yogurt. The grilled or cooked items were not in play. Free coffee and tea though. Slow elevators. Rooms were modern and spacious. Bathrooms were moderate sized. Needs 2 sinks for a 2 queen bed room. Toilet and shower were closed off from vanity sink area. Smell of standing water from toilet was nasty. The shower water pressure was of a gentle rain. For $200 per night, wouldnt be worth it. Its more of a $100-$150 night hotel. It was "meh".... read more

Pros: Bed- the bed was actually good, which is rare. Comfortable sleep both nights I was there. Shower/bathroom- good amount of space, looked nice Location- centrally located, very close to the mall without being too close to all the traffic. Close to the highway. Stuff to do- has a pool, workout room, good space to eat and hang out. Cons: No microwave in the room. I know this is petty, but this sucked for my stay. I had to ride the elevator 4 floors up and down just to use the places one microwave. Workout room- not a lot to it. Floor is uncomfortable, planks and anything on the ground is out, unless you bring a mat. read more

Like most people, we haven't done much traveling this year except for day trip here and there. So, we were really looking forward to a quick overnight in Syracuse to visit some friends. I was using my Marriott credit card annual certificate for a complimentary one-night stay. We could have picked several other Marriott properties, but they all charged a $50-$75 fee for traveling with our dogs. So, we chose the Aloft as they are dog friendly and do not charge a separate fee. (bravo!) Nice room 2 queen beds. Small windows that actually open for fresh air. Bathroom/closet area strangely configured. All this empty space under the sink/countertop with a small refrigerator there. Great--except that the last guest's leftovers from Applebee's were still in there. Hmm, so that obviously wasn't cleaned. Wonder what else wasn't? Closet is opposite sink/countertop. You had better not be short, as it is elevated off the floor and you won't be able to reach the hangars. Small Mr. Coffee machine in alcove next to closet. Based on the refrigerator, no thanks. Cool modernistic sink, but easy to splash water everywhere. Pocket door to toilet and standup glass enclosed shower. One hook for towel/clothes, etc. Have to reach in to turn on water to warm it up, which means opening the door, which means water splashes on the floor. Oh, and the warm water? Never showed up the Sat. night we were there. I let if run (and splash while checking temp), run/splash, repeat. Finally gave up and took a very quick in and out cold shower. Go to bed--had requested 2 foam pillows via Bonvoy app the day before. Nope. 4 very soft feather pillows. Go to turn the lights off in the bedroom area? Have to get up and go to switch on the door, then stumble back in the dark. Need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night? Have to turn on bathroom light which illuminates the hallway/sink/toilet area too. Seriously, who planned this room? Oh, and the poor housekeepers have such a large cart that they cannot easily push it out of the supply room into the hallway without hitting a wall and maneuvering it around. Coffee/tea always available in lobby. Tried for some tea on Sat after dinner as the bar was not open. Water was lukewarm. Luckily there is a microwave in the kitchen area. Parking lot is free but across the street from the hotel. Very strange--front desk gives you paper to put on your dashboard that you are a guest. We parked on the well lit street. It was closer. The area is also quite desolate. There is nothing around to walk to where I would feel safe not knowing the area. Thank you for being dog friendly, but little issues=only 3 stars. read more

Wish I could give this place zero stars. First the staff at the front desk, have got to be the rudest people I have ever met. Secondly the aloft hotels are known for their night life/fun vibe. They had some washed up band that literally had one 65 year old spectator. Lastly something in my room started beeping at 4 am , but 4:30 it was so intense that I went downstairs to ask for help. They sent someone up and the phone receptacle was broken and not taking a charge. After being woken up by this beeping, they refused to compensate me, and stated it was like an alarm clock. I could not fall back asleep and packed my stuff and left by 6 am, with only four hours asleep. This place is horrible read more

I stayed here two years ago and would have given the place a 5-star review. The overall structure/facilities are still nice and feel new, but service has slipped. The inside of my room door was completely covered in coffee splatter. The fabric desk chair has lots of stains, some of which are thick and raised. They cleaned the door for me but did nothing to the chair. Most employees are unmasked, as well as the maid, whose children are running in the halls and in the rooms -- also unmasked. The kitchen is closed, apparently because the one and only chef is out sick. Go figure. Management could step up its game. Tightening policies and oversight seemingly wouldn't take too much. read more

This hotel was just ok, fine for someone just driving through like myself, and pet friendly which was good, but overall not my favorite hotel. There was a flashing light from the smoke detector that was flashing all night. The food At the bar was okay at best (the mozzeralla sticks were some of the worst ive ever had). There was nobody to help with our bags, but maybe shouldnt be expected at this kinda place. Beds were comfy and staff seemed pretty friendly at least, so definitely not a one star, but not my favorite read more

I'm a fan of Aloft Hotels. I stayed at this Aloft near the end of an 18-day roadtrip with my sweet dog. It was wonderful. The room was typical Aloft: upscale and comfortable. The front desk staff at both check-in and check-out were among the most charming people I met on the entire trip. They treated me like family, and I loved that feeling -- especially appreciated after a long day of driving. Parking is free and plentiful. On a future trip to Syracuse, Aloft would be my #1 choice. read more

This is the 2nd Aloft hotel we stayed in and we love Aloft! One of the best hotels we've stayed in by far! The breakfast is worth every penny, the rooms were so cozy and felt like home! My husband and I grabbed drinks at the bar and the bartender was so nice and made some killer drinks! Our kids enjoyed every second of it and the best part is their dog friendly with no pet fees The only downfall is no high chairs so when we did eat breakfast we had to hold our son the whole time but it wasn't that serious of an issue! read more

Enjoyed our stay at this modern hotel. Had to give it 3 stars for a couple of reasons: the cleanliness of our room and the hotel missed the mark a bit, especially during a pandemic. When we arrived, we found several wet towels with hair in a drawer in our room. There also didn't seem to be cleaning more frequently or have hand sanitizer placed strategically throughout the "common" area downstairs, which was odd considering COVID-19 concerns. Another reason I couldn't rate it higher was that there was a pool table, but we were told that guests couldn't play while the bar was open ("new rule"). The fitness room was also a bit hot...uncomfortable to workout in. Despite all this, the staff were very kind and I loved the outdoor area. I was staying at the aloft as a guest of the Syracuse Funnybone comedy club. I was the feature act for the New Year's weekend. Checking into the aloft was a bit more difficult than necessary. The woman at the front desk (older African American) seemed to be put off by me from the moment I entered. As she was checking me in business as usual I asked her how much the incidentals hold was and she responded "it depends". I've never heard of that before...usually $50/night...$150/night etc. So when she asked for my card I simply asked how much would be held (since the initial question didn't get answered) she shrugged her shoulders said "I don't know" and asked me to insert my card. I did....I asked how much was being held, she got the manager. He was very helpful and answered the SIMPLE question by letting me know it was a $50 hold. Easy. I went upstairs after a 14hr travel day, checked my bank account, she'd ran multiple holds. I went back downstairs asked her if she could cancel the transactions. Without word she walked away got the manager (who tried to help me but couldnt....said it was a "system issue") while speaking with him she threw her hands up and walked away. HUH??? The bartender Charlene saved the experience. Very nice. Solid gym. But if the funny bone is sending talent here weekly, you'd think they'd be a bit more conscious with being warm at check in and knowledgeable of prices and procedure. read more

I booked months ago to stay overnight as I planned to attend a concert. Due to dangerous air quality the concert was canceled. I attempted to cancel but unfortunately was denied a refund. I understand it's "policy" but I assumed the health and safety of the customer would take precedence. I'm crying because I'm now out $175 and there's literally nothing I can do. Unfortunately wild fires causing poor air quality is out of my control. read more

I called and reserved the room the day prior. I needed to put a credit card on file, I asked them if it would be charged because I wanted to pay cash. I was told they would not be charged until I checked out. At this time I also set up the shuttle time for the airport. I am here with CNY fertility, there is a special rate in which I received last time. I was not charged the same rate although I asked prior. The shuttle was not at the airport when I arrived, when I called they were just leaving because they also had a flight crew to pick up. I waited at the Airport for 40 minutes, If I knew I would wait, I would have grabbed food while waiting. I arrived at Aloft and went to check in. I again asked if I could pay cash, but they wanted a card on file. I gave them my debit, and asked if it would be charged, I let them know if it was going to be charged I would use another card. They told me it would not be charged. I got to my room, checked my account and the card was charged for the room. The front desk told me it was just held, yet the money came out of my bank account. I am talking to the general manager tomorrow. So far not happy this trip here. read more

A concrete college dorm trying to be "hip." Really nice staff, they treat you like family or friends not as a stranger. Good bar and drinks. Lots of breakfast and snack choices. Small pool, can't do laps. Gym is basic. Call it an exercise room. Beds uneven (not level) and they need to rotate and flip the mattresses, one of the worst sleeps of my life. This was an amazing hotel. Very modern and clean, bright and cheery! Rooms are perfect! The hotel had many things to offer gym, pool, sitting areas including a warm fireplace outside, huge shower, work desk, internet cable and a fridge. Being on the water there was such a nice walk way around the area and the mall was across the way. There was even free shuttle. We had certain specific needs being our stay would be long as a business trip and all our needs were met above and beyond... Their dog friendly accommodations are outstanding including their ARF bag Best of all we met so many staff being there all week and every one was so welcoming and friendly. We stay a lot of places & They were the best group ever:) They were so loving to our pups too. Breakfast available at the cafe was delish Rates excellent Very highly recommended! After a nightmarish check-in from another Motel nearby (Priceline/Motel, mislead me to think it was a three star express deal) which I'll definitely be writing about later. I re-booked another 3 star hotel and came here for savior! The front desk attendant must've saw my face and the time of check-in the night of and knew something was wrong. I only mentioned to her that we were coming from another place and it was horrible!! She basically said say no more, and checked us in in less than 2 mins. The room was very spacious and and I felt like a million bucks the next morning. The A/C was making a sighing noise that night every time it turned off but, that wasn't anything to complain about especially with what we had experienced the night before. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely book again if in the area. read more

This is a fantastic hotel in the Syracuse area. It's conveniently located to seemingly everything (Destiny, Syracuse airport, convenience stores and food, etc.). The harbor area next to which the hotel is located is gorgeous. Great for morning walks or just to get outside (in the warmer months; it's also quite a spectacular sight in the winter months. The hotel itself is equipped with everything a traveller (business or casual alike) could need. The wxyz bar has fantastic food and bites; the re:fuel area typically has a nice assortment of drinks and snacks (which are fairly priced). There's also a nice outdoor patio, a swimming pool, and a gym. The staff themselves are also particularly great. Very friendly and go out of their way to help you. The one time I did have an issue (which in hindsight, was almost entirely beyond the control of the hotel), it was resolved promptly, professionally, and fairly. This is my go-to hotel whenever work has me in the Central New York region (and sometimes even the Southern Tier), in large part because its a solid, reliable, well-located, and great value hotel. The price point is slightly lower than other hotels in the area, but I certainly dont think the service and amenities are; if anything. And the fun vibe to it is a major plus. read more

A nice cozy room and a good comfortable stay. The only negative part is the noise in the lobby, and the fact that there is no parking next to the hotel. You will have to walk across the road and find a spot in an a very full lot. Also people park by the main entrance and thus make it difficult to unload your bags and check in. The lobby staff also have "holier than thou" attitudes and are fairly condescending and rude. If it was not for the poor attitudes, this hotel would clearly receive a 4 star rating. read more

It was a good one night stay after the flight to Chicago. Enjoyed it, it was fun fresh energetic place, still new, about a year old. Free breakfast, coffee, and drink helped to set the mood, but in general this is cheerful place with friendly staff. Well, rooms were consistent with other Alofts, but the value was good too. Location is a bit weird, as it is set up in Inner Harbor, not in the heart of the city. It is too far to walk to the happening places in Syracuse, so I drove to the city center for dinner. Not much going on in the walking distance of hotel, so it is somewhat self contained place, at least that was my impression. Parking is across the street, which is not ideal, but not a big deal. All in all, pleasant one night stay, wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. read more
