The service was friendly but a little distracted (possibly because the staff were rocking out to flamenco music), but we didn't mind (we enjoyed the music too). The prices were a bit on the high side, but then again, the portion we received was quite large. We both plan to sample some of El Olivo's other offerings soon. If you stop by you might notice a couple of people hovering around the place like vultures, hoping to score another table!

We could only get two stools at the bar which might likely have suited a more romantic and younger couple. Despite this setback due to a previous day in-person last minute reservation the food and ambiance was excellent. Must say despite the frantic activity the staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. Our shared dishes were Grilled Sardines, Black Sausage (the best we've ever tasted), Cod Croquettes (nothing exceptional), Pimentos de Padron & Salad. The wine by the glass was good bit I'd skip the local region French style overly expensive Sauvignon Blanc and stick to Verdejo or other Spanish wines on offer. This is not a restaurant for a relaxing or a laid back evening. I don't think the servers feet ever touch the ground and the kitchen must be volcanic! Great value and well worth a one-off experience. Our meal €64.35 for 2 and like many tourists was rounded up to $65.00. We might be tempted to return but definitely only to sit at a table.

We were able get on their website and make reservations for a party of four at 21:30 that same night. Definitely recommend making reservations. Recommendations: 1) On the "To Share" menu, try the goat cheese with tomato jam. So delicious! 2) For the main, my wife ordered the Huevos Rotos with organic farm eggs and candied potatoes. She loved it! 3) For my main, I ordered the Iberian Bacon glazed with orange and roasted carrot cream. By far my best meal in Valencia!
