I was very disappointed with this "company" and the owner. I booked new flooring for my condo and…read morebooked the installation day. I told the owner that the installation day needed to be guarantied as I was booking the week off and hired a replacement for my business. I also needed to have my son available to move all the furniture out of the rooms. When I called a few days before the installation to confirm, the owner Patrick said the installers were not available for the Monday but may be able to come on the Thursday. I made a fuss but no one showed up until the Thursday. I had to pay my replacement an additional 3 days and my son needed to leave town so I had to move everything on my own. when the installers came they said they had only been hired that Monday, not before. They were also not the original installers and I was never provided with their worksafe numbers etc. required by my strata. 3 installers showed up but only one did any work, they never showed up with the materials needed so they would leave for 1- 3hrs per day. My newly painted walls needed to be repainted because of all their hand prints on everything. I was charged an additional $1000 for leveling cement and the hallway was not properly leveled and now the boards are separating. After 4 days the installers wanted a day off even though the baseboards had not been installed. When they finally "finished" the installation, 2 closets wouldn't open and one couldn't close, trim and caulking not finished. So, someone else had to come to do the caulking that was missed. For weeks after the installers would call and say that the company was refusing to pay them. Patrick promised to complete the floor in my laundry and to pay for the baseboard heater installation but never came back. He refused to answer my calls and emails. I made a complaint to the BBB but Patrick never responded. He took down his website and disconnected the phone. Worst person I have ever dealt with.

Having done a lot of our own research as to the different types of flooring available to us, our next step was whether retailers would have what we liked. We found many did not have the selection to give us more choice. We needed to find a good retailer who has good customer service and has staff who do excellent installation because we were not going to do it ourselves. At one big box retailer we were not too impressed by their impersonal sales staff, because they provided us with limited information on what would be involved to have the existing carpet removed and have the underlay and the new floor installed. A good friend had used Metrotown Floors and Interiors before and had referred us to contact them with our flooring project. So we made some time to contact them and to go visit their showroom. The showroom had a very good selection of all types of good to high quality flooring. The customer service representative Al Eris welcomed us as we came through the door. He asked us what was our plan and what needed to be done. Then, he made a home visit to measure the work space and bring up any concerns that needed to be addressed. For example, what baseboards could be used that would go best with the current door frames, trimming of the doors, and to consider that we may need to level the underground floor before installing the underlay and the new flooring. We were impressed by Al's professionalism and his attention to detail. So impressed that we chose to go with Metrotown Floors. Once we chose the underlay and flooring we wanted Al was quick to give us samples of the product, and he advised us of the cost estimate within a reasonable amount of time. He put the time and effort into understanding our needs and he was there for us before, during, and even after our job was completed. Reaching out to us to see if we had any concerns with the installation and if we are satisfied with his customer service and the hard working staff who did the installation. Al at Metrotown Floors worked closely with the restoration company that was coordinating the clean up. Metrotown supplied and installed all new flooring and cabinetry to our home that looked great and were in consultation with us constantly. Their pricing was very competitive with other suppliers and their installers were top notch. I would highly recommend Metrotown to anyone looking for new flooring and cabinetry.

I was put in touch with Melissa through a restoration company that I am using. We were supposed to…read morehave a meeting for selection and flooring measurements back in early May 2018 but had to reschedule twice - once cause of transit for me and second time cause she was ill.. Last I heard from her (asking me via email when she could come) was on May 28, 2018 which was approx the week after she recovered. Replied her via email the same day to let her know that my schedule was open and I can match her schedule. I sent her repeated text messages, emails and voicemails (never picked up her phone) every now and then for the next few weeks saying that was following up on my previous emails as I haven't heard back from her and would like to know when I could get the reschedule date. No response what-so-ever up till date (June 20, 2018). On the evening of June 20, 2018 I called the office to check if she had been away from the office during this period of time and they say she wasn't and will get her to give me a call. Got a call from her half an hour later basically telling me "she is not interested in doing the job and had emailed me (which I had never received) to let me know and she doesn't know why I keep contacting her". 1st of all, this is my first time hearing that a company representative accepting a job to a point of scheduling for selection and measurement to suddenly cancelling without due notice and reason. 2nd: Why she would think I would bother trying to reach her to see her availability (via text/call and emails) had I gotten that email she allegedly sent to say she isn't interested in doing the extra job is beyond me. 3rd would be nice of her to have at least the decency to reply text messages or give me a call if she saw my emails/messages instead of ignoring them. Last but not least her very rude phone call was uncalled for! Delayed my restoration work for almost 2 months. This review is solely based on the customer service I've received from one of the employees in this company and by no means necessarily extend to the other employees or company as a whole.
