In such situations I'm lucky enough to have a know it all neighbor who actually does know it all. Over to Bill's Glass I went, broken window under my arm and a head calculating how long I'd have to eat instant noodles to pay for this repair (answer: 18.5 weeks). As it turns out, the process was shockingly simple and affordable. They looked at the window, told me a price (much lower than my fearful guess) and he said I should go get some lunch and come back in 45 minutes. Whaaaaaaaaaat? 45 minutes? Lunch? "Ok, I can do that" and do that I did. Tummy filled with food I came back to find my window repaired and I was on my way. The End.

An antique store across the street sent me to Bill's when I asked about replacement. The young man with whom I initially spoke was awesome - I told him what I was looking for and the approximate size and he gave me a very reasonable quote. I assured him that any old piece of mirror would do - the antique I had was relatively small and I was looking for a quick-and-dirty solution to my haphazard hanging job. About a week later I came in and picked up my mirror, which looked great. I paid in cash and they took $5 off so I paid exactly what I was quoted. Quick, affordable, reliable, cheerful service from a mom-and-pop business. I'd definitely go back.

After this was done the shower started leaking as the door was adjusted with a much bigger gap than previously. I was charged $262.50 for this service call. I then called and emailed several times, with pictures and videos, explaining how water was leaking all over my floor during showers and to please send an installer back to correct the gap width. It took several weeks for someone to respond but finally someone came back to correct the problem. Instead of readjusting the door, he installed a cheap piece of plastic to deflect the water. After the second visit I was sent another invoice for almost $200. When I called to ask why I was charged again to pay for a service I never received the first time the project manager, Nick Thalari, was extremely rude on the phone, hung up on me then proceeded to send me several additional rude text messages, laughed/mocking that "I had too much time on my hands" Dealing with Delta Glass was unpleasant, frustrating and a complete waste of time and money to say the least. I strongly discourage anyone from using this business. ***I rarely leave bad reviews but this experience warrants less than 1 star***

Woo, a technician from action glass came in and fixed the cracked bedroom window by replacing it with new window. He was knowledgeable about the kind of frame and fixed the twisted frame. He was honest to tell me that original weatherproofing is in good condition and does not need replacement. He filled the gaps in the door as well. He was nice, easy to communicate, honest and did a good job. Would recommend him!

I contacted Action Glass in Coquitlam and spoke with Mike. He listened to my concern, assessed the situation, made a couple of recommendations to address the busted rollers and possibly a worn out tract, provided me with a reasonable quote, and scheduled a technician to come and repair the sliding door. Less than a week later, Chris, Action Glass Technician, came to fix the problem. He explained to me the remedial process and even showed me the defective parts he would replace. It felt good because Chris was transparent and trustworthy. He only replaced the busted rollers and did not change the tract because it was still in good working condition. The final bill I paid was 1/3 less than the initial quote. The following day I phoned Action Glass and had a conversation with Arlene. I expressed my appreciation for the work that Chris provided, and for his friendliness and professionalism. A few hours later, I received an email from Leanne Roth, Business Development Manager, thanking me for the feedback I shared about Chris. A week later, a written thank you card and a Starbucks gift card arrived in the mail from Leanne. It was such a pleasant experience dealing with the Action Glass Team from the beginning to the end of the transaction. Their whole crew was excellent! You hardly see this kind of strategic customer engagement anymore from a lot of the companies out there. From hereon, every time I have a glass concern, Action Glass would be the first one I would call again.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY! This company did not provide the services I paid for, has kept my…read moremoney and has failed to respond to a court action to retrieve my money That's the short version. The long story is below. I read the reviews and thought I'd picked a winner here. I'm happy to hear that others have had a good experience. Unfortunately mine has been very different. Different enough to warn you about. I had Fadhil give me a quote for a truck rack back in March. I had to drive all the way out to his shop in PoCo to drop off my deposit because he's not set up for credit/debit and doesn't do e-transfers. I said I needed it asap, because my busy season was coming up. I tried to get in for the fitting but it was put off. After nearly 3 weeks of not hearing back, I called them to find out what was going on. I didn't get a response so I called again. Still nothing. Then I emailed. Finally I got a reply. I was told the materials were on order and they'd let me know when they'd be ready for installation. By this time I'm getting busy at work and need that rack. Weeks go by and I hear nothing. By the time late June rolls around, I've had it. It's too busy at work to bring the truck in now. I ask for my money back. Again I have to contact them multiple times by phone and email over several weeks to follow up on getting my money back. After numerous delays, I was told they were just cutting the cheque, then that the cheque was in the mail. Well the cheque was in the mail for three weeks. The receptionist swore up and down that they mailed it when they said they did and that it was just taking a really long time to get to me. She even told me that they'd sent cheques to other companies that same day and they didn't arrive for two weeks! When I finally got my cheque, Fadhil had deducted $124.70 for materials and there was a Post-it Note saying to call before cashing the cheque. I called and was told not to cash the cheque until the next day or later so they could have the proper funds in the account. (Something you think you'd do before sending the cheque!) I followed instructions only to find out that the cheque had bounced and my bank had charged me $5 for the NSF. As this matter escalated, I repeatedly asked to be called back about things. I first asked the receptionist to call me back. This happened several times and not once did she do so even after I brought it to her attention that she kept saying she would return my calls but never did. After this happened a few times, I asked speak directly with Fadhil. The receptionist would say he'd call me back and then I repeatedly didn't hear back. Finally I insisted on getting his number to speak with him directly. After a lot of excuses, Fadhil's receptionist told me that she wasn't allowed to give me his phone number! I explained that the cheque had bounced and that this was getting into legal territory and I needed him to call me back for real. She promised up and down he'd call me back in two minutes, which she'd promised before. I got off the phone and, as usual, he never called me back. This whole episode has been very disappointing. It's also alarming because Fadhil has nearly $900 of mine and I can't get anyone from his company to contact me about this. As it stands now, I've had little choice but to file a small claims action since I haven't heard back about my deposit. The owner has simply ignored the claim so I am escalating the legal action. Obviously it was a huge mistake and a waste of a lot of time and energy going with Fadhil. I trusted him to come through based on the reviews posted here, but good reviews obviously don't guarantee that things like this won't happen. Don't make the same mistake I did. There are other companies to go to if you're wanting metal fabrication. I can't vouch for them but I can certainly warn you about Urban Metals. Run!
