The half price apps from 4-6 are where it's at. They're super affordable. Been here 3 times and it's just great every time. Plus they have NA Asahi. The Sweet & Sour Calamari. Damn. It's probably the best calamari AND sweet & sour sauce I've ever had. I'm picky about that sauce too. Like really it's that good. I hope this place actually sticks around because it's so good. Everyone who works here is super good at what they do too. Super nice people. Oh, and ocean views.

I had my family in town and really hyped up their sushi as it was so fresh previously, I was so embarrassed when they brought out the dining equivalent to chicken nuggets. The prices are absolutely asinine, my family is already skeptical of CA prices and I was hoping to show them that sometimes they're worth it but instead this just reinforced the stereotype of paying $20 for prepackaged food. 2 stars because our waitress was super nice and gave us a free dessert. She was really apologetic as well. I hope they can turn it around, it's such a beautiful location, I'd hate to see it go to waste on such poor food.

One of my favorite things about this place is how easy it is. You order on the kiosk, grab a seat, and your food usually comes out within like 10-15 minutes. The inside has a lot of seating and even games like Jenga which makes it feel like a fun spot to hang out for lunch. I didn't interact much with service since I used the kiosk, but the worker upfront was really friendly and even brought my takeout to my table. This time I tried the Dynamite Crawfish Bowl and the Dynamite Fries. The bowl comes with crawfish, rice, dynamite sauce, eel sauce, seaweed, sesame seeds, and pickled radish on top. The fries normally come with sweet potato fries but I swapped mine for regular fries because I just wasn't feeling sweet potato that day. The fries were honestly kind of underwhelming. It was basically fries with dynamite sauce and only a few pieces of garlic confit, which was the part I was most excited for. They weren't bad, just really underwhelming. I honestly think the sweet potato fries probably would've worked better with the flavors. The crawfish bowl though was really good. The crawfish had this slight smoky flavor to it like it was lightly torched and they give you a lot in each bite. The rice was fluffy and cooked perfectly and the pickled radish on top helped cut through all the richness from the sauces. Everything worked really well together flavor wise. My only complaint is that halfway through the bowl the flavors started blending together a little too much and it gets boring, but overall it was still super satisfying and filling. Definitely still one of my favorite quick lunch spots in Carmel Mountain and somewhere I'd bring friends because the menu has so many good options. Their dessert menu also sounds insane so I already know I'll be back.

My favorites are the chicken adobo and loco moco bowls. My husband usually gets their dynamite crawfish bowl. The food is tastefully crafted together. For an introvert like me, I don't mind ordering ahead of time or using their kiosk to order and wait in the dining room. They still greeted me and was super friendly when giving me my order. Their walls are decorated with pictures of their food and a wall of art. So cute. The tables looked new and clean.

Even though it was a dim sum style service, they still served the food in sequence (cold, hot, mains, dessert last) which was great. They also have cocktails available to order. Everything that came out tasted great, we particularly loved the Sinuglaw Oysters, Ensaladang Bulaklak, Chicken Arroz Caldo, Taiwanese Chicken, and Banana Coffee Cake. Pork Tocino was great too, although I wish it came with steamed rice (personal preference, lol) and the sawsawan it came with was delicious! Duck Confit Bao was greasy, but it tasted fresh and duck was cooked nicely too. We thought the Wagyu Wonton tasted okay, the portions were differently sized which was odd. Everything else tasted good. Parking is available across the street, about 2-3 mins walk. Valet is also available for $20. We were going to bring and infant and stroller but decided not to, which was great since the ambiance is more "adults only" which is not a bad thing. There were families who brought kids and strollers and it seemed to have worked out great, as Animae accommodated the strollers too. Our server Shanice did a fantastic job and took care of our needs very well. Overall the experience was great, Chef Tara is amazing. They even handed out roses for the moms which was very thoughtful. We will definitely come back here when we are in San Diego.

Food in order of favorites Wagyu Fried rice: I know random, but hubby really liked it 5 out of 5 would get again Hunan Lamb chop: savory spicy, super tender, would get again. I liked this with the fried rice Kare Kare: hubby liked it. Would get again but hubby wants to try tocino first then would chose which to get again. Meat fall off the bone tender. Got the white rice with it and it's better with white rice than fried rice. Fried rice needs to be eaten alone Carpaccio: super buttery tender, liked the citrus and sweet and crunch would get again Espresso turon martini: super fun would get again. But maybe I would try to melon milk tea next time to change it up Mango sorbet: fun and tasty, I like having fruit chunks in my sorbet but the mango was frozen which made the sorbet more icy then creamy Charged carrots: not good, not for me If you are in San Diego and want fancy Filipino food then you have to go here Also if you want a really nice date place this is a great choice All my food allergy issues were also well take care of.
