The place is ok/mediocre. A bit expensive for what you get - so you're mainly paying for the convenience of eating near shops in the shopping centre area. Important Tip: I highly recommend sharing plates here. I ordered the "Lumberjack" (I think that's the name) breakfast and it definitely feeds at least 2 adults. That explains the $15-16 price tag. This would have been enough for me, my 11yo, and my 2yo. But since I got kids meals for both of them, I paid over 40 bucks for the meal w tax and tip... pretty expensive for a "commodity breakfast"! In sum, I won't revisit. I'd prefer going to a GREAT breakfast place and pay 10-25% more for me and my family. If I'm forced to come back, I'll better account for the huge serving sizes and order shared stuff with my kids/family.

I heard that Allô Mon Coco had good potatoes so that got my attention. We walked in on a Friday morning at 9:45 and were able to get seats right away. Normally, on weekends there are lineups. By the time we were done, at around 10:30, there were about a dozen people waiting in line to get a table! We ordered the Good Morning and the Coco Waffle De Luxe. They were right! The potatoes were real gooood. Something like refried potatoes cause it comes in a pile of semi mash which doesn't look appealing but taste great cause it has that fried potato taste. Apart from that, my scrambled eggs were kind of weird, stringy and greasy so it wasn't very impressed with that. The waffle was decent, a little "bready". I tasted my neighbour's cinnamon roll and it was also bready but decent as well Overall, I'd say it's not a bad choice of breakfast place if you've nowhere hipstery to go to :) However, it is a chain resto though so it operates like a " Chez Cora".

This is very good spot near my home. I think it's the best place to get breakfast in La Salle. The portions are very generous so make sure you are hungry when you go there. Staff is friendly and environment is spacious and clean. The food is satisfying.

It gets 4 stars from me because as a breakfast diner it matches up to my egg-spectations (egg-scuse the puns!). The place is bright and cheery and pretty spacious. Considering there's no other breakfast place nearby this one could stand to do well being literally next door to all the high-rise apartments. Sure, it's not the trendy, hipster place for breakfast but the convenient location makes up for it. The food is made quick and the portions are large enough to eat half and take the rest to go. A coffee or tea is included with every meal. Bring parents and kids to this place and it's fine. I personally find the red booth seats quite invigorating to look at and it just wakes you up after sitting a while. Breakfast wait staff tend to be quite pleasant I find, nothing to complain about on my first visit.

We went on the Thanksgiving Day so there's a line up but the turn over was pretty fast so we had our table within 15 minutes. We ordered the weekend special and the waitress was super friendly and attentive. She urges us to share one portion when we asked if that's enough since we always order too much for brunch and it ended up that the portion was just good and we didn't feel overeating. Overall, it was an excellent experience and we will definitely come back.

This Chocolate Banana Waffle (CBW) was one awesome , but big servings. If you are a big eater it's perfect other than that, if two people wants to share it's good. I couldn't finish. The staff is great at least our waitress was. Very clean.

One thing: they are not as big nor dense as New York City bagels. These are enough for a decent Breakfast with coffee, and juice, and not feeling weighed down. We're on vacation. So, what is a Montreal bagel and how is it different from any other bagel? Well, they are smaller, thinner, denser, and sweeter, with a larger hole in the middle than most other bagels. Back in the day, they were always baked in a wood-burning oven. Today, those types of ovens are illegal, so they engaged a team of bagel production experts to reconfigure a cooking process and replicate the test and texture of their old-school wood fire baked ancestors. And their bagels can be enjoyed in eighteen different varieties, and that is a pretty awesome selection. We decided on an Everything Bagel with jalapeno cream cheese (C$5.25) and a Plain bagel with salmon cream cheese (C$5.25). Our drinks were a Small Americano (C$3.50) and a small drip coffee (C$2.75). My Everything bagel was wonderful. Chewy on the outside, soft on the inside, with a subtle "hint of sweetness" taste. It was everything you'd ever want in a bagel. And the jalapeno cream cheese was great. I order this a lot and sometimes I end up with a dissapointingly bland cream cheese with the lightest green tint to it, as though someone used an eye dropper to administer a few milligrams of pickle juice. But not here, there were actual hunks of raw jalapeno in the cream cheese that left no doubt in your mind what you were eating. They sure delivered the old zip I expect in anything with the word "jalapeno" in its description. You order on their assembly line (the servers were great), then grab a table out in the common area outside the store. PRO TIP The store can be tricky to find. It's inside an office building on a lower level which resembles a shopping mall. What a great thing for the office workers to grab some food without confronting the harsh Montreal winter weather.

Well, the adventure was worth it... enough that I returned a 2nd time on my trip! Bagel Fréna is a relaxed neighborhood spot specializing in these Israeli and Moroccan delights, resulting from its extremely friendly owner's cultural background. A corner location, its front windows were fully open allowing a light breeze to complement the warm, late summer air. The music fit the chill vibe. Jerusalem Bagels (a.k.a. Ka'ak or Simit) are flat, oval bagels coated in sesame. Mine had also green olives, perfect with Za'atar Hummus. To drink, I enjoyed their sweet Moroccan Tea made with fresh mint leaves, which reminded me of my time years back in Marrakech and Fez. On my next visit to Bagel Fréna in addition to another cup of that fantastic Moroccan Tea, I decided to try their Jerusalem Pita, also coated with sesame. This time, I filled the warm bread with Olive Cream Cheese and Moroccan Roasted Red Peppers. All flavorful and sensational! Can imagine Bagel Fréna would be a nice place to hang out with a friend or two, while you're eating or going for their Turkish Coffee. You'll find also shelves of games to play to pass the time. Definitely recommend checking it out!!!

But given that the inhabitants of ethnically diverse Montréal bring together so many beautiful cutures, it ain't a bad thing.. and during my trip Bagels on Greene made me want to try out an eclectic assortment at this cafeteria-style, totally friendly eatery! What initially perked my interest was from their vegan Indian selection. Found myself eager to test out their Vegan Chicken Vindaloo, which they heated up for me from the prepared food fridge. (The range in Bagel on Greene's prepared food set warrants a further investigation if you live nearby.) Since it was something I've enjoyed all my life, I order their round, baked traditional Potato Knish... somewhat in size between the frozen Mini Knishes my mom always made as a side and the larger New York Lower East Side's Yonah Schimmel version. Of course, the Karnautzel long sausages caught my attention. I was expecting to get brown Deli mustard, but only Yellow and Dijon were available. Finally, two new for me Zero Sugar sodas to drink: 7up and Dr Pepper. Note - Other options available beyond a bagel/deli selection include: a small buffet tablet with other heated items, Spring Rolls, Spicy Potato & Vegetable Rolls, Cheese Rolls, non-traditional Knishes, Pakoras, cookies like Gingerbread Men. They also have meat dishes, if that's your thing. Opted to eat inside Bagels on Greene, although the covered outdoor tables looked great. My Vindaloo tasted great... the vegan chicken substitute did not make me miss the chicken!!! The Knish, topped with poppy seeds, was pretty good. The Karnautzel, less my thing, wasn't that bad too! Those Zero Sugar sodas... didn't miss the sugar either! All good! Bagels on Greene isn't a fancy place, but the reasonably priced, wide offering of tasty items should provide something of interest for a meal. While I can't speak about their bagels, it's a place I'd recommend checking out yourself, if that's your thing.
