Since I have a gluten intolerance, I was worried I wouldn't be able to have any of our wedding cake. Fortunately Cindy was flexible and was able to make a beautiful gluten-free cutting cake to go along with a tower of regular cupcakes for our guests. She was very helpful at our tasting, and even provided gluten free samples for me to try. For our day she was able to bring our cake design to life with a beautifully decorated and delicious (gluten free funfetti with cherry and lime filling) cutting cake and a fun tower of cupcakes (cherry chip, chocolate orange, cherry lime, and strawberry lemon) that everyone enjoyed and raved about. There were none left by the end of the night, so that tells you something! We wish she had a storefront so we could occasionally stop in to pick out a goodie or two, but if we have any custom orders in the future we will definitely work with Sweet Discoveries again!

Ordered a cinnamon pastry, dry. Then we tried another flaky pastry, even more dry. Taste of all though were good so if they weren't dry it had the potential to be good. Full cake was better but their whipped buttercream is super duper sweet. The cake was yummy (ever so slightly dry) but the extremely sweet buttercream was crazy sweet and our guests were removing it. Has potential if their items weren't a bit dry!

The most awesome part about ordering this cake was that I received a complimentary top tier to my cake on my first wedding anniversary. We just celebrated this and the cake tasted exactly the same. And, the fact that they sell Holcomb Hollow goodies was awesome. But just about everything else was lacking. I found the staff behind the counter to be gruff and unpleasant. Everything moved at a snails pace; I couldn't believe that a simple cold brew coffee (black) took 10 minutes. The shop is very artistic and has a lot to take in (in terms of decor, things for sale, etc.). It was overwhelming. There is a lot of seating area and separate rooms to congregate in, but even in poking my head in to look around, I received looks that felt territorial and unwelcoming. My coffee was fine, but really nothing to write home about. Not at all interested in trying this place again.

What can be improved upon: Mark ice cream as dairy free, GF, soy, etc. to help with dietary restrictions and offer more sundae toppings. I'm hoping this comes in time, since they're still fairly new, they are off to a great start. I look forward to reviewing the Ice Box again when they are more established.
