I was in town for the week and called Allure Nails shortly after they opened on a Tuesday. The gentleman said they had openings that morning so I arrived soon after we spoke. I was helped right away and the woman worked efficiently while I relaxed in the chair. My nails were already short so she kept the shape and cleaned them up which I appreciated (I'm not a fan of the squoval shape that many salons default to). Planned to go to another salon to get acrylics after. They pried the nail off with another nail...AND BROKE MY NAIL! I even said "i'm sorry but that hurts." and he ignored me and did it anyway...after my nail broke he went onto the next nail and tried removing the same way...I requested he soak them off after that...I still paid for the service and didn't make a big deal about it...but it just needs to be known that is not okay...chop shop. read more

I selected this salon based upon prior Yelp reviewers. It was a late June hot afternoon. My husband was booked for a massage and I could use a pedicure. The salon was about a mile and a half from our lodging and it was a pleasant if not warm walk to get there. The salon is in a strip center, lots of nail techs inside. Quite a few customers. I had an appointment Initial impression: Neutral. Not a walk out of the salon, "YUK!" Perspective. But not a "what a great spot" reaction, either. I decided to stay. There was the typical Asian salon greeting "pick a color." I perused the polish selections. Not impressed with either the colors, freshness of the polish, nor the brands. In fact, I had trouble finding a color that would do. I finally selected a very light pink for my beginning of summer pedicure. My opinion of the salon's cleanliness was also neutral. Certainly not spotless and pristine but not filthy either. I sat down in the pedicure chair. Peter was my nail tech. He asked what type of pedicure I would prefer by giving me the pedicure menu. I appreciated that, since when I booked, I really had no idea what the options were. I selected the "deluxe" pedicure for $50. What transpired next was truly amazing! What I received was a high end resort-style pedicure experience complete with hot towels, exfoliation, mask, foot and leg massage . It was literally like a facial for my feet and legs. I have paid $100 for that quality of pedicure at a Ritz Carleton or Four Seasons Resort. Peter, the nail tech/foot masseuse was quiet but work diligently and expertly. The application of the polish was also quite crisp and clean and professional. This was an amazing experience. My feet feel great. Went here to get a pedicure and gel manicure done before a wedding I was serving as Maid of Honor in along with the bride. I had made an appointment about two weeks ahead of time and we were promptly seated on time. We picked out colors on the wall that were normal polish, but we're told they could match the gel to it. Our pedicures turned out great! However the manicure quality was subpar. The shaping of my nails was uneven and I had to point out areas that needing correcting (I'm no expert usually only getting a manicure 2-3 times a year, but I could tell it was wrong!) My nails also have odd bubbles/particles in the gel in a few places and the polish was stuck to my skin in a few places that I had to point out to the manicurist at the end to have removed. Additionally, the brides manicure color did not match her pedicure color even though she had been assured it would. Terrible experience today! I first started with one operator then got bumped to another after he finished his client. He never cleaned his area before starting on me. Every time I tried to ask for anything he acted as if he didn't hear me speaking. By the end I asked for him to file them shorter and he asked why didn't I say earlier. First, I had discussed it with the first operator and second every time I tried to talk to him he wouldn't acknowledge. Unfortunately, terrible experience! I appreciate that, but maybe they need to get rid of the polish that has gone bad? Also I think I have an ingrown toenail starting because of the work the first technician did on my toes. I came here yesterday because I needed my nails done for my engagement photos and they completly screwed up my nails I am so devastated. First off one hand is barley even glued down i can see the top of all my nails under the fake nails and they stick straight up, then they are too long I told him 3 times i wanted shorter because I type at work daily and all he says is that's too short they will get shorter after I file them, and they are slanted from his uneven side filing so they are not straight and none of the tips look the same, then on top of all of that the ombre is not even ombre it's stupid looking and it's not even across all he nails and we had to pay over 100 for this shitty job. I would of tried to understand if they were super busy but there was only 3 people in there and we spent almost 300 on everything we had done so I thought I'd be a priority. I am so disappointed that these will be the nails in my engagement pictures for the rest of my life and I just want to cry. I may just get my nails redone and redo my pictures on a later date. If you are getting nails done for a special occasion do not go here. I regret it and want them off now but they are closed today. read more

Because of other reviews, I had high hopes for this place but was sadly disappointed. Although my I made an appointment, I waited 45 minutes for a powder manicure that took less than 10. The powder is very uneven, and the person doing my nails did not shape them at all. I was honestly shocked when the manicure ended (assuming that she would shape them), but when I got back from washing my hands, the manicurist had already moved on to someone else and I was told by another person that I was all done and it was time to pay. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt since it's the holidays and they were likely slammed, but I definitely left disappointed and won't be coming back. read more

Great staff! My cousin and I went to this nail salon at 6:00pm but they stayed open to finish our nails until 8. The staff was super nice and offered us a drink. My nails turned out great, and the color was excellent. They had great choices, but my cousin's didn't turn out the way she wanted them to. I recommend this nail salon if you want plain color, but it you want french tips or designs i would recommend somewhere else. Overall a great place and would come back when I'm in town. I had a very nice nail lady who's name, correct me if i misspelled, Anna/Ana. She was very nice and make sure the drill didn't hurt my cuticles. The six people there were all very nice and friendly. I got a pedicure with Ana. she asked me if I wanted to trim or cut my nails. I said trim. she did nothing so I was a bit confused thinking maybe she trimmed them and I didn't see. so I asked if I could maybe cut them cuz they were still too long. so she said yes but your feet stink(which she later tried to deny saying) so I have to do at end. but then proceeded to cut one side and left the other untrimmed WITH dirt under the nail still! Getting flabbergasted with me because I asked to trim after seeing nothing done saying you just told me you wanted file, what do you want trim or file!? Make up your mind! Which I'm sorry I don't know why I can't say trim and if it's still too long say you know what I'll just go ahead and clip! I couldnt communicate anything without her irritated! then she put on the color but it came out silver when it looked blue in the bottle so I asked to do a different color and put the silver shimmer on top. so I pointed to the blue and said 671. she said which color you want?! yelling at me. just say the number. I said I did. I said 671. and I want to do the silver on top. she was frustrated with me just for saying this demanding to know what I wanted even tho I made it clear that I wanted it as a base. she was frustrated saying just tell me what you want after I had several times very nicely when asked over and over rudely as I clearly made it obvious what I wanted . then to get my attention she would rudely wave at me like I was stupid shouting hello!?!!! I was pretty shocked by the way she spoke to me. then at the end she did NOT fix my nails as she said she would trimming OR cutting them. I told her don't worry about it I'll just do it at home. luckily the lady doing my finger nails was very normal and kind and filed them for me no problem. no issue with communication or talking to me like I'm some dumb child. I would never in my life go there again just because of her. everyone else was very nice. the quality she gave me was spiteful and I was even avoiding conflict and arguing with such a being as it's petty . in no way however did I appreciate the way she spoke to me from the very start to the very end. she left dirt under my nails! she didn't clean up the nail polish on my skin. nothing was filed as promised. she insulted me and said my feet stink as she laughed. then lied about saying so as if I couldn't understand everything she said even tho she couldn't seem to understand a thing I said! she waved rudely at me shouting helloooo!? completely out of line. when I asked for a base colot and top coat she was rude and asking me just to clarify what I wanted even tho I did Very simply and courteously . even with the filing she said just tell me what you want so impatient with me even tho she did neither. I am rough on my nails. Lots of dishwashing, etc. and I never know how truly good a manicure is until I've had it for at least a few days. I am now on day 6 with my gel manicure from Allure Nails and Spa and they look as good as the day I had them done! The place itself was nice. Super clean and the staff (and the clientele, for that matter) were very friendly and welcoming. They had HGTV on which makes me SO happy! My nail tech was really nice and did a phenomenal job. We got to talking and I found out she was new to town- having only been here a month. She gave me some great suggestions of things to do and see. Every year my husband and I come to Fredericksburg for an annual fly in and formation clinic at the airport. This year, the wives and I decided to pamper ourselves, rather than staying at the airport all day. I checked reviews, as I'm a Yelp junkie, and the reviews for Allure were glowing. And for good reason! Best pedicure I've ever had - nearly a full hour of massaging my feet and legs, salt scrub, hot stones, and paraffin wax. And for a great price!
