Stopped by on my way through and figured I should grab something before the long drive. I like…read moretrying chili burgers because not only are they one of my favorites but I get to see how they make their chili and patty at the same time. Is it homemade chili? Homemade patty and seasoned? Soggy bun or toasted? There was a spot in the front to get a carhop so I parked. It didn't take long before a young girl came to ask for my order. Nothing else seemed that appetizing besides the chili burger anyway so I ordered that. "Mexican food" consisted of nachos. Only after the fact did I see onions rings but thought the burger was enough. No prices on the menu which made me suspicious but how much would a sort of fast food/diner cost me? Didn't expect to pay over $8 but yep. Quite a lot. The burger was only okay. Nothing unique. Nothing to write home about at all. The chili was only slightly different from a Sonic chili burger and honestly, Sonic has more flavor in theirs sadly. I wasn't offered any options for the chili burger and none listed on the menu. Chili burger is what the menu says and that's what you get. No option for onions or grilled onions or anything else. It's definitely not worth $8. Maaaaaybe $4-6 and $6 being generous. $8 should come with fries at least. Basic flavor. Basic presentation. Then you're most likely feeling the need to tip on top of that. The parking area was at least clean. People coming and going makes you think it's a popular spot but makes me wonder if there's better places to go even if I had to walk inside. Great place to pick up food for the kids, grandparents or a quick bite but don't expect much if you want flavor. You pay more than what you get.

We visited the Dairy Queen in Munday, Texas in August 2026. There were no problems with the food…read more The problem was the Customer Service. There was a special for Blizzards and the order had to be placed through the app. I downloaded the app, and there was no way to order at this address through the app. I asked the young lady about it and she said she had no idea how to do it, I was the first person to ask. Later, I went back to the counter, and a young man waited on me, never said hello, thank you, or anything else. I believe that Customer Service personnel should be taught to speak to customers appropriately. I hope this Dairy Queen improves in Customer Service.

The window attendant was enjoyable to do business with and very polite, but for some reason she forgot to put the nuts on our order. It was absolutely wonderful Even though it wasn't exactly what I wanted. This Dairy Queen is spotless on the outside and I can only imagine that it is in great shape on the inside too. If you're traveling up or down 287, the northernmost Mundy exit is the one you will want to take. I really love me some Dairy Queen burgers and ice cream.

Had lunch with a friend here, the initial impression of Rockies is how old it looks, and how small…read morethe building is, about the size of an average bedroom. There is only one parking space that provides covered parking right in front and we got lucky and got to park there.. I ordered the hand-breaded steak fingers and my lunch partner ordered the chicken tenders. The steak fingers were excellent, about as good as mom makes assuming your mom is a great cook! My friend couldn't quite finish hers and handed me a chicken tender, which was huge! The breading was perhaps a bit too heavy, and the chicken itself was probably cooked a little bit longer than ideal, and was resultantly dry - but it was still tasty. Before I ordered, I asked whether the fries were frozen or not, and she assured me that everything they make is from scratch and that the fries are hand-punched on-site from actual raw potatoes--and wow--the french fries here are really good-- a bit on the soggy or soft side, but I prefer this than for them to be overcooked and get too much moisture cooked out of them which can result in a tough and leathery texture. In any event, I really enjoyed the fries. We arrived a little bit after their 11 AM opening and halfway through our meal there, a line started to form at the walk up window as well as the drive-through, a testing to their food's quality. I can't wait to go back to try out the hamburgers and super dogs!

The mashed potatoes, gravy and fried okra were really tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. In case you're interested, I guess they have a buffet every day. I looked at it before we ordered. There was spaghetti, chicken-fried chicken, and fried catfish. They have two or three of the typical buffet vegetables along with a salad bar. All of the things on the salad bar looked fresh, but they had those little red BB's that are a substitute for bacon bits. That is classic West Texas, small town salad bar right there. Made me smile (though I did not eat any of them). :-) We would certainly come back here and try some of the other fare.
