This gas station gave small Buc ees vibes. I went in to use the restroom and came out twenty minutes later with snacks, random things, and a drink I could not pronounce. First off, the bathrooms are legendary for a reason--hands down the cleanest, most private, and most abundant stalls and urinals you will ever find on the highway. Outside, the sheer number of gas pumps means you never have to wait, and they even have a great car wash on-site. Inside, it feels like walking into a massive, one-stop-shop mall. If you need it--or if you forgot to pack it--they have it. They're selling everything from outdoor gear, deer stands, and lawn chairs to high-end Ray-Ban sunglasses and beautiful home decor. Then there's the food. You can smell the roasted pecans and smoked meats the second you walk in. The chopped brisket sandwiches are amazing, and the snack selection is endless--wall-to-wall jerky, fudge, and every road trip snack you could ever long for. Despite how busy it gets, the staff is always incredibly friendly, helpful, and fast. Everything is a fantastic value for the quality you get. Walking around this store just to see what they have is half the fun. Buc-ee's is hands down the best!

From the outside it looks like a rough truck stop surrounded by farm trucks and big rigs. And on the inside it's no-frills but the smell of good food lingers everywhere and sounds of hustling people coming and going. Ordering is done at the counter, the staff were amazingly friendly and the quality of food could stand alone as purely Awesome...home-cooking at its Very Beat!! It's filling and fair priced most items under $10. At certain times of the day finding an open table is impossible!! Yesterday I had a hamburger steak covered with brown gravy and grilled onions with fries. Today it was fried catfish and a salad. Honestly the food was so good from the day before, I had to come try something different. They were fantastic!!! We arrived mid-afternoon, and they were out of lemon and chocolate, but there were plenty of other choices. The nice lady at the register even went to check in back to see if there were any more flavors that weren't in the case. The crust on these pies is light and flaky, and there's plenty of filling appropriate to the amount of crust. Note to self...next time, don't try to eat the cherry pie in the car! It was delicious, but a bit messy. If you're visiting Glen Rose, which is definitely worth a visit, be sure to grab a pie, or three, from this place!
