If I could give zero stars, I would. I had used Allstate Auto Insurance for a while in Colorado, so when I moved to Texas, it was natural for me to use them here. I called this agency and set up 2 policies. Everything was fine until I logged in to make sure I was correct on the due date while budgeting, and I realized that I owed $187 for some reason, so I called the 800# because the local office was closed, and they informed me that I was being back charged because they found out I don't own my home. First of all, I never said I owned my home, so it must be agent error. I "thought" not a big deal; I will call my agent in the morning. Well it turned into a big deal. This office admitted it was agent error, but they said they "couldn't" do anything about it, except offer me $74.99 in gift cards. To put the icing on the cake, my monthly bill went from $120 to $187 monthly on my auto policy because I do not own my home, which this office understood from the beginning. After I cancel my policies and find outstanding insurance elsewhere with better prices, I receive a bill from this office for $187. I called to question them, and it's for the month that I didn't pay, so after all the frustration I went through, they aren't back charging me. Oh and they sent me one notice stating I owed and the notice said it was the third, so now I have been sent to collections because I didn't have the money to pay right then. Plus, they sent the collections notice to my parents in Colorado, when they know I live in Texas. In good hands, huh! Don't think so. I will never use Allstate Insurance again. read more
