Bought Christmas gifts there on November 26th, they have a 30 day return policy and will not budge outside of that even for Christmas gifts. They take about 2 weeks to send an order and then you are stuck with gifts that don't fit. Their return policy and customer service is terrible it's a basic no that's our policy. Clothing is decent quality but is charged at higher-end prices. I bought a bought a romper with inner seams that are visible through the clothing. Another dress was good quality. A top was forever 21 quality. A jacket was itchy material. Customer service is sloppy and terrible. I returned items promptly as I bought them and didn't hear from them for weeks when I finally reached out. Ordered a sweater from them final sale, believing this to be a tall woman's specialty clothing store. The sweater was shown on the 5'10" model as being long-sleeved. Got it and it looks ridiculous on me; their 5'10" model must have midget arms, because it's 3/4 length at best. I wouldn't complain about a $7 sweater except shipping was highway robbery at $13.99 (for domestic shipping?? Please). I started shopping here 4 years ago and absolutely loved their clothes. I never cared for their jeans because there are other clothing stores that have that covered but I can never usually find joggers that are long or maxi dresses which I would buy from Alloy. They were definitely taken over by another company and if not there have been a LOT of changes. Not the same store from when I first started shopping here. I have also never seen a company hike up the shipping cost based on the cart amount. I only shop here for certain things. Material is lower quality now as well. read more

I had been a loyal customer for years. I purchased 3 items; two of which were the same brand. One item was too small while another (same brand) was too large. I called to make an exchange and was told that I would have to pay shipping for the new items because they "don't really have an exchange policy." Not only will they delete your review and only keep the 5 star reviews they receive (which are mostly fake) to keep themselves looking good but don't expect to get any refund on your purchases when you find out how cheap their clothes are made. I literally bought 2 different shipments of 2 different size dress pants and all 11 of them started running like a stocking at the butt of the seam. Literally each pair got a one time wear out of them. I literally blamed my thick ass on the first shipment, but after sizing up to a pair that were very loose on me, the pants still had the same issue. Originally my only complaint is that the clothes are poorly made and thin. I let that go because they are juniors clothes and they're cheap. Then I went out of the country on an extended vacation. I ordered a pair of jeans which cost like 34 dollars shipping and could take up to 15 days. That was fine but when I checked the order status a week after ordering it the status was "to be picked - translation my stuff is still sitting in their warehouse. So I write an annoyed email and finally get back a form email saying that they need me to call and verify some info before they can process my order. When were they going to tell me that? Now they send an email acting like they were waiting all along for me to call - good thing the sent dates are on emails. So then I call and after holding and verifying all of my information. I am told by a customer service rep that I have to call billing. She gives me the number but does not connect me so I assumed she couldn't. I called the number and couldn't get through. Had to call back customer service and another girl went through everything that happened to prove that I couldn't get through to billing. "Well ma'am what happened when you tried to call?" "Well what did the recording say". they ask you the order number before you have a chance to say what you're calling about so they know I am shipping internationally which means I'm CALLING INTERNATIONALLY. After I got frustrated with her she finally asked if I would like her to connect me. You mean to tell me you two could have connected me this entire time? I finally get billing who tells me I have to verify because I'm using an international credit card. I say no I'm not i- it's the same card I have always used- billing address is exactly the same. She said yeah but it's too a different address. WHAT? I'm shipping to a new address. Everything else is the same - Didn't cancel the order cause I really want these jeans but this is the last time I will be ordering from them. read more

I have to say. I wanted my relationship with Alloy to be great - I really, REALLY did - but I am deeply disheartened to say that they just don't hold up their end of the deal. I think the prices are reasonable and I was initially *thrilled* to find jeans with 37 inch inseams (I'm a leggy 6'2", and with pants it is next to impossible to avoid dressing in the likeness of Steve Urkel) but after some number of months it all went downhill. Firstly, because their selection is already very bare-bones, secondly, because they are often out of stock with the things that they do have listed, and thirdly, because their customer service can be dismal. Just, ridiculous. I ordered a few pairs of bottoms and ended up returning two (on my dime, which itself wouldn't have me complaining) but then they never got back to me or refunded me for my purchases, even though I sent them back well within the required time window of thirty days. It's been over a year and no word from them. There are presently two pairs of pants somewhere in the world, one which I didn't like and the other which was sent to me in a size too small. (I reviewed both my receipt and the confirmation email, and no, I did not mis-order). Even if I missed the time window for returns - and I'm EXTREMELY skeptical that I did - I should at least have been able to correct their own error of sending me the wrong size. I was glad to find long inseam pants, but after sending a pair of jeans to be exchanged for another size I never got a pair of jeans or a refund!! First I was told that the jeans were on backorder. Finally I requested a refund, but was told because of a change to their computer system they couldn't track my original payment. Multiple calls and emails got me nowhere. read more

I ordered a Christmas gift card on 12/11 for an event on the 19th. I specified 2-day shipping to insure I had it before I left town. After not being received on the 15th, I sent an email to then inquiring on delivery. I received a response 24hrs later that it was shipped on the 14th and would be received 7-10 business days. WTF? No explanation, no sorry we screwed up, nothing. These guys will be out of business shortly. I hope the person who I receiving this uses it quickly. If I could give a negative star, I would. Alloy used to be my favorite retailer, I bought over 50 pairs of tall jeans and pants. These lasted me 3-4 years, so I recently decided to buy more. Unfortunately, the quality and customer service has gone downhill. The sizing does not match what the website claims, the fabric information is often incomplete and misleading. If you want to return an item because it was mis-advertised, you have to pay return shipping. Alloy does not even supply a pre-printed label, which means that you have to take the item to a shipping agent rather than leave it in your mailbox. If you want to exchange for the correct size, be prepared to pay shipping again. This online company is no longer competitive with other online vendors. You are better off with Long Tall Sally, Amazon or Ebay. read more

I have shopped Alloy for years. Their clothing has always been wonderful because finding pants for my long legs were almost impossible. In my latest order the pants came and had a funky oder (mildew like) I decided to wash them. After pulling them out of the washer they appeared to look as if the material wasn't dyed properly and they now appear to have had bleach spilled on them. When I contacted the company they said I was beyond the return time frame, they have no warranties, and they would offer a 30% discount. How ridiculous? I merely wanted them to replace the pants. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! I recently purchased a pair of skinny corduroys from Alloy. I washed them per label recommendation and they shrank so small that they are now 4 " too short and so tight around that they cannot be worn. I contacted the company and this is the response I received: "Thank you for contacting Alloy. Unfortunately, once an item has been washed we are unable to accept the item for return or store credit. We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with the quality of the item and will forward this inquiry to our merchandise planning team. Highly disappointed. I have been a loyal customer for years regardless of the fact that they always get things wrong. Also, their jeans most of the time arrive in jegging form. Every single jean seems to run differently for instance I own a black pair of jeans in one size and when I ordered the white pair they fit completely different. Don't even bother doing a return or exchange because the customer is not valued and they will only give some of your money back after you pay for your own return. I have loved shopping through alloy because they offer extra length jeans for us long legged gals HOWEVER they really messed up this time and DIDNT CARE! I work in customer service myself so I understand when things happen. I have been so patient with them and they keep messing up. I ordered two pair of pants in SEPTEMBER (it is now mid November) they sent me the wrong sizes, I returned those (at my expense) and exchanged them for the correct sizes. In October they sent me damaged pants. Which at my expense I returned again. I received an email saying the new items had been shipped. I reviewed the order and noticed they were sending me the wrong item AGAIN! After a lengthy and unsympathetic phone call to their customer service I was told they shipped a different item because they didn't have in stock the item I paid for AND CHARGED ME THE DIFFERENCE! $30! I asked why I wasn't contacted to notify me and I was simply told sorry. What?! They offered no solutions (I'm aghast at this point as I would be written up and having a stern talking to as a customer service agent at my employment) I had to ask the what they could do to help me and after being on hold was told I could receive a 15% discount and free 3-5 day business shipping.
