I recently visited LUX Boutique in Westminster while looking for a good pair of jeans, and I have…read moreto say--the quality didn't disappoint. The denim felt sturdy and well-made, and the associate who helped me was genuinely kind and attentive, which I really appreciated. That said, I was a little hesitant about the price--$140 for two pairs felt high for a small-town boutique. Out of curiosity, I looked up the return policy after my purchase and was surprised to see that they offer store credit only, even if the items are unused and still in the bag. While I completely understand that small businesses need to protect themselves, I do think a slightly more flexible return option--like even a short refund window--could help ease concerns for new customers. I wouldn't have minded if it had been clearly mentioned at checkout, but it caught me off guard after the fact. The store has a unique selection, though the style leans more toward bold, statement pieces like puffer tops and chunky jewelry, which may not be for everyone. I didn't see much else I wanted, so store credit wasn't the most helpful solution in my case. I love supporting women-owned businesses and truly want to see LUX succeed. With a few small updates--especially in how policies are shared--I think the boutique could be even better and attract even more loyal customers.

I popped in because it looked cute from the outside and I definitely got suckered in with the jewelry and Knick knack stuff. I've been going to Fishbone for years and they've always been nice. Same people have been there for EVER so they know what they're doing. It's a fun place to go because they have a bit of everything. Lots of shoes, especially. Like, skate brands, urban brands but also ones that your mom would want, like Vionic or Dansko. Plus all the trendy ones the teenagers love like Vans, Converse, Adidas. In the winter they got some killer boots and I got a fantastic pair of Hoka One One running shoes there before. They also have sportswear and outdoor brands like Patagonia and Mountain Hardwear (which they just started carrying in women's sizes, whoo-hoo!!). Some Marmot too, I think? And disc golf discs! But also they got trinkets and fun stuff. Like Funko Pops, hemp necklaces, Manic Panic hair dye, tie-dye everything, posters, concert tees. Also THE BEST place for hats in the mall. Hands down. Hanover Mall doesn't got a Lids, so this place kinda nails that vacancy. They change their inventory a lot. I remember seeing yo-yos and juggling equipment back in the day. Give them a try, it's always changing.

Don't know how the same people could have worked there for years when I only saw teenage employees on both occasions I went in the store. They were nice but didn't do their job correctly and the price of a board was wasted. Staff sold a regular sized skateboard to parent for a 12 year old saying it was the right size. Clearly too big for the kid and was never used, not mounted, and they would not take it back though their policy clearly states exchange for store credit accepted with receipt. Error by the staff means customer problem. They even have sizing charts on some of their complete boards and ignorant employee failed to utilize it!! I won't take my business there again.
