I got 5 custom shirts for everyone at my company that had worked more than 20 years. Our logo on the back, front, and the persons name. One of the logos was very complex and involved intricate pinstriping like on a hot rod. Susan was awesome to work with. We had to make several changes due to the complexity. What we finally ended up with looks amazing. All the stitching is very well done. I am very very happy. Did it take a long time? Yes. Rome was not built in a day. I would rather have it done right than done quickly. Given the complexity and number of revisions I am completely satisfied with how long it took, even though it was longer than the initial estimate. read more

She got us the three shirts we ordered in record time, and they were all such nice quality shirts that we decide to keep the lot of them! I don't understand the poor ratings..I ordered 2 shirts one for my husband, men's large and one for my grandson, youth medium. I needed them right away as it was my grandsons 9th birthday. The shirts arrived very quickly as I emailed my dilemma, my grandson's shirt was embroidered on the back with a great design & both shirts had their names embroidered on them. IF YOU PICK ANOTHER COMPANY AND DON'T USE SUSAN - YOU'RE WRONG. Spoke with Susan on a Tuesday with just an idea of what I wanted. Explained how it was a gift for a special person and I would need it in his hands by Friday. She said 'it can be done, I have time Thursday morning to do it and can send it Next Day Shipping'. We went back and forth bouncing off ideas all day and Wednesday. Thursday morning I got to her early with a size change. She didn't have a problem. She completed the shirt herself, giving me updates the whole way. Once it shipped, I was notified and sent a picture of the final product. Friday rolls around, I am PUMPED for the shirt to get here and to see the smile on his face. At 2:00 pm, I was STRESSING. Reached out to Susan a few times that day to get the status. She was traveling but answering my emails on her phone and assured me it would get here. 30 min later... THE SHIRT ARRIVED AND HE IMMEDIATELY PUT IT ON - LOOKS AMAZING. Even BETTER than I had imagined. Susan did a tremendous job and I will always recommend Bowling Concepts. I discovered Bowling Concepts while searching for a customized bowling shirt for a friend's birthday bowling party. I had very short notice so I ordered the shirt with expedited shipping. I wanted personalized lettering and an embroidered design on the back. I noticed, upon check out, that the embroidery would delay the shipping by a few days so I cancelled (so I thought) the order and re-did it without the design on the back. I called the next day to make sure I would receive the shirt in time for the party and was told that I had two orders in, so I cancelled one. the next day, I received my shirt and to my surprise and delight, the shirt was not only personalized, but the embroidered design was on the back! I can tell you that the shirt was a giant hit at the party. The birthday girl took off the shirt she was wearing and proudly put on on her new personalized bowling shirt! I am very disappointed with the customer service from this location. I started the process of ordering five team shirts from Susan. Initially I thought, great Christmas presents! or not. Here we are one and a half months later, I get them. But the journey was a nightmare. They kept promising me delivery by a certain date, TWO FRICKIN' WEEKS via ground UPS is their idea. Then when I finally get the shirts ... they are only done half way!!!!! Did they do any quality checks before shipping out the shirts????? So I send them back, they tell me they were sent out over the weekend - but the tracking number they sent shows a different story. Well, they got my money up front - what else matters? What matters is that the concept of 'word of mouth' should mean that I should be bragging to the other teams about this place. or not - which is exactly what I have done - don't order from them unless you don't care about customer service. Just wanted to drop a short note about Customer Service and the help I received from Susan. My wife bought a shirt in April for my birthday in June. I had only worn it two or three times when I noticed a slight fraying of material on a seam on the front of the shirt. I contacted Customer Service in July to see if the shirt could be fixed or replaced even though it had been four months since the shirt was purchased. I spoke to Susan on the phone and sent her a picture of the frayed area while we spoke (Gotta love today's technology!). Much to my delight Susan offered to send me a replacement shirt at no cost even though the original shirt was purchased four months ago! After browsing I ordered a shirt as it said it was " Availability: In Stock". No custom work needed as I wanted to order one and see what the quality was and how it looked before putting in a bigger order for my group. A few days after the order I was sent an email saying the shirt was on backorder - 2 weeks out. Asked them to cancel the order and they did. No issues. Since I didn't get a shirt I'm just commenting on the cancellation policy and no hassles on refund, which I appreciated. Not going to ping them on not having the shirt since we are in a tough period with COVID, but wish they updated their site to show when something is on backorder or not available because when I ordered it, it said it was available and still does to this day. read more

I ordered matching league shirts for me and the girlfriend. The shirts are indeed high quality and the stitching is well done. The girlfriend's shirt was close enough to the correct size, a little big but she's happy enough. My "medium" was way closer to an extra large so be careful when choosing your size. I contacted them about the size issue and after sending them pictures and measurements they sent me the correct size. Very friendly during the support step. read more

Whatever you do - do NOT order a customized shirt. Order shirts from them, then take them someplace local for embroidery or customization. Better yet, just get your shirt locally, or at least elsewhere. Sizing is TERRIBLE. I am a large in button down shirts, but if they run small, I go for an XL, so I sent email to customer service asking if they run small and was told simply by Susan "I'd go for the XL". Great. Appreciated. Ordered my shirt, with my team name embroidered on the back (my teammates all ordered shirts from them as well). I get notified that it shipped that day. GREAT. Loving life. Ordered on a Friday, it shows up on Monday. FANTASTIC. I open it up, this shirt was cut for someone weighing 80 lbs more than me. And pregnant. With quadruplets. I'm a guy. I bowl. I get that there is an expectation that I should have a beer belly, but this was insane. I get back to customer service and explain that this shirt was cut WAY big. I attach this on Susan's original email telling me to go for the XL. I am asked to measure the chest on the shirt, which measures out to 52", which is stated as the size of the XL. Problem is that the shirt tapered out for the belly and hung on me like a clown shirt. Also, the measurement of 52" means that the shirt is true to size, at least at the chest. I asked if they run small, I was told to go a size up. Problem now is that the shirt is customized, so there are no returns. Susan's offer to me was if I order another shirt, they would embroider it for free. WHY WOULD I MAKE THIS MISTAKE AGAIN????? Of my 2 teammates that ordered at the same time, one got an XL that I tried on and it actually fit pretty well. Different shirt, but seemed sized correctly. The other one got his shirt and was sent a Medium when he ordered an XL. He still has no shirt - I don't know if he got hassled about a refund, I don't even want to talk about it with him anymore. Bottom line, if you order a shirt from them, make ABSOLUTELY SURE you can return it. read more

I placed an order for a bowling shirt to give to my boyfriend. I was planning a surprise bowling party for him on Fri, Jan 6th. I placed the order for the shirt on Dec 19th. In the comments section, I let Bowling Concepts know that I would need to have the shirt by Fri, Jan 6th as it was for a surprise party. I requested a small monogram with just his initials and last name for the front of the shirt. By that Tues, Jan 3rd, Bowling Concepts still had not made or shipped my shirt (which I confirmed that morning on Jan 3rd). The woman on the phone told me they would be making it that day but it would not get there in time for the Friday party unless I upgraded the shipping. Because I was so desperate to receive the shirt in for my boyfriend's surprise party, I upgraded the shipping which cost me an additional $29.95. It took them approximately 15 minutes to make a shirt that I had placed an order for three weeks before I needed it. They waited till the last possible second and caused me to upgrade my shipping and pay an extra $30 dollars. Nor were they the least bit apologetic about it. I will never use this company again. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

Beware. Shirt arrived on time and exactly as I ordered it..or so I thought. The customization was right but.......I ordered a Womans XXL and what I received was nowhere close. It barely fits my younger daughter who regularly takes a Misses Large. This shirt is undersized by at LEAST 2-3 sizes. This websites size index chart is very misleading. I placed an order for my 3 year old daughter because I was throwing her a bowling party for her birthday and the size index indicates that their "Child Small" is equivalent to a 2T/3T. When I recieved my ordered 3 weeks after ordering the shirt it was extremely large on my daughter. After paying $60 for the shirt they didn't seem like they wanted to help me much with the shirt. But after complaining enough they said to send it back to take it in. Well, after receiving it a second time it was still to large. I even sent them pictures of how big it was on my daughter as well as putting one of her shirts on top of the bowling shirt. That shirt is sized for 5 year old child. So please save your money and make sure you call them BEFORE YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER!!!!! I wasted my money on this company Sincerely, Not a satisfied customer read more

Horrible customer service experience. I ordered a large size shirt and it was almost to my knees in length and I am almost 6 feet tall. I called to complain and hoping for a proper exchange and the lady on the phone said that I should return and I have to pay for return shipping in order to get it exchanged. she said some of these shirts are designed to be long and some are just regular size without noting the difference on the website ... I used to be a loyal customer and I referred a lot of people to this place and I very much regret it , even the people that I know who ordered from the website complained about the same problem as the shirt being too long. Really well laid out site with clear and accurate photos of their inventory. Fast and courteous service. The retro style shirts ordered were even nicer than anticipated (I'm not a bowler, but like the Jazzy 1940's/50's style shirt lines offered). I'm also very pleased that they offer mail in payment as I do not like to use credit cards online/over the phone, and I've been robbed once too often by Paypal. I love these shirts. Great looking, great fitting, and they iron up very nice. The nice thing is that most of the ones Ive ordered are USA MADE! That's great, nowadays. I had a similar experience to that described by EG. I placed an order and specifically delineated the "deliver by date" as requested in the comments section. In fact, I paid for additional shipping at the outset. I checked the postmark once the package arrived (after the "deliver by date" - they mailed it the day before the "deliver by date". I contacted customer service via email to coordinate a return. Susan responded, "We are sorry that it did not arrive on time. We are unable to accept it for return since it was personalized and we did ship it promptly." In turn, I contacted customer service again via email to ask why request a "deliver by date" if they do not intend to honor it - I have yet to receive a response to that question (it has been almost a month now). I retained all documentation and intend to pursue resolution via my credit card provider. Two people now have reported strikingly similar experiences - I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! read more

after reading some of the Yelp reviews, I was concerned about a time sensitive order. I called and talked to someone about the deadline I was under, and the gentleman assured me they would meet it. I put the order in on 4/14 for 9 custom shirts and needed them by 4/29... well they arrived yesterday, 4/23, nearly a full week ahead of schedule!! The product was exactly how I wanted it. Shirts run true to size, which was a concern because I assumed bowling shirts might normally be loose/baggy. They look great. I don't know what happened with those other 1-star ratings. I nearly didn't order from bowlingconcepts.com because of them. I'm glad I gave them a try. I am very pleased with the results. read more

I placed an order for 7 shirts intending to send a few back as I wasn't sure of the sizing. I saw on the website "No Hassle Returns, Plus Exchanges", so read no further. This was a BIG MiSTAKE! I had to send 4 shirts back, and found that they have a 20% restocking fee! So on top of the $9 to ship them back I had to pay an additional $32! I then found most of the same shirts much cheaper on amazon! I contacted them but they wouldn't budge on the fee. They have some cool shirts and frankly I was planning on ordering another 3X shirt for my son, as he's hard to shop for, but not now. They've lost a potential return customer I'm afraid. read more

The shirt I ordered is not only monogrammed in the wrong spot, it is also the WRONG COLOR. Bowling Concepts refused to do anything about it. Bowling Concepts claims to have a "No hassle returns, plus exchanges" policy. That however only applies to merchandise that is not personalized. They also are apparently color blind. Blue Curacao (which is stated as being "Bright and bold") is actually silvery gray and black. read more

I've bought two shirts from bowling concepts. Both shirts were not available in my XL size, so in both cases the nice people at BC agreed to take larger shirts they did have in stock and tailor them. This added a day to delivery, but the shipping was free anyway. Both arrived as promised. Both shirts were expertly cut and sewn. I received frequent email alerting me to the progress, and prompt replies to my questions. If you want a cool, retro bowling shirt, and incredible customer service almost impossible to find these days, then trade with this company. You will be happy you did. read more
