The executive chef deeply cares about putting together a fresh and delicious meal. We tried "Crab Cake" and "Bolognese Pasta". Both were delicious and it was one of the most delicious Bolognese Pasta I've ever had.

If it' happens to be full, there is a very large municipal parking lot less than a block away on Elizabeth Street. Paradiso is located in Village Square but faces the street the only place to the west of it that separates it from the Municipal Parking is the nice little boutique style LCBO on the corner of Elizabeth and Pine Streets. We have been going here for many years I'm going to say it's been 20 years or very close maybe more for the ever changing menu. The Chef changes it by the seasons so you are always in for a delicious surprise and selections. The only minus I'd say is their wine list by the bottle it is seriously overpriced. The least expensive bottle of Cab-is $55 ( $14.95 @ The LCBO). Although it hasn't kept us away. My husband ordered it regardless he enjoys a bottle of wine with his dinner. I don't drink so I'm a Perrier or similar gal. Our dinners were outstanding and well priced. They start you off with the most delicious yellow bread it reminded me of cornbread but no corn it's thick like cake cut in wide 1" strips and just as high. It's served with a balsamic vinaigrette for dipping. I could keep eating that . I must ask what type it is on our next visit My husband had the Seafood Pasta which Spaghettini Pescatore consisting of Spaghettini with a white wine cream sauce, shrimp (3 large) , calamari and Atlantic salmon. Not a lot of seafood however only $32 so I'm not complaining. I had the Pickled Beet Salad- basil whipped feta, mixed greens, pickled beets, spice toasted almond crumble with a balsamic vinaigrette $16 and I added a marinated chicken skewer $9 extra. Other choices were garlic shrimp, oven baked salmon ,, grilled sirloin and seared ahi tuna - all $9 to $16 (salmon). All very well priced . For dessert I had the Aftgiuto $9 - also delicious - a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream with a side of espresso to pour over it so yummy! My husband's was huge- Salted Pecan Caramel Tart $14 ( more like a pie than a tart,I had to take pictures. Topped with French Vanilla Ice Cream, warm caramel sauce. I tried it, absolutely amazing . We had a great table for two at the very back of the restaurant it was quiet and quaint. Also extremely close to the restrooms which is always handy. We highly recommend Paradiso for lunch or dinner but remember reservations are a must. Keep in mind that the kitchen closes at 9:00p.m.. They won't kick you out but reserve accordingly. We were there two weeks ago Saturday and were shocked that it was completely full right after Christmas in early January and in this economy but as I mentioned earlier it is really affordable. I was also shocked that we had 6:30 reservations and it was 9:00 when we were leaving after our lovely leisurely dinner. We will be back very soon. Below is my husband with his amazing salted caramel pecan tart topped with French vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce. The picture I took of it looking down on it you can see what I mean how it is more of a pie than a tart, it's huge. I had a bite of it and even just one bite is so satisfying and beyond delicious it convinces you it's worth every penny . I'd love to order it however it is far too large for me. I wish my husband would share but he loved it far too much to share. Who can blame him? When you go you must try it. We are really into salted caramel desserts but believe me when I say "this the very best salted caramel anything that we ever had, it dances on your tastebuds and I truly mean that". Don't think about it just make your reservations on YELP or call today. Remember Valentine's is just 4 weeks away if you want to take your Sweetheart there for Valentine's you had better make your reservations now.... If it's not too late already. You don't need to thank me just go and enjoy a wonderful affordable dinner. And if you haven't been there before I know that you will become a regular even after just one visit !

Also anyone pulling into the parking lot is sure to blind you with their headlights so maybe best to pick a seat away from the windows. We ordered the Adonis entrée, the Chicken Shawarma entrée, Lamb Souvlaki entrée, a Shish Kafta entrée and a few Lentil soups. All of the entrees came with the same Rice, Potatoes and Greek Salad. The Lamb was cooked well, and for $30+ it better be. Chicken Souvlaki was drenched in sauce so of course it tasted good. The Kafta was AWFUL. So dry and bland. Every bite was making my mouth dry. What a bummer. The Lentil soup was ok but I feel like it didn't taste as authentic as other places I have been. It could have used more spices. The potatoes that came with the meals were just ok. They didn't taste good or bad. However the rice that came with the meals was bland and tasteless. No saffron or anything. Literally around the corner from this place is a restaurant called Sidra and it serves waaaaaaay better Shawarma, Lentil Soup, Kafta (tikka), and their meals come with amazingly flavorful rice and garlic potatoes. With such a better place nearby I don't know why you would come here instead.

Adonis is by far my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in town; much better than Monfort and Agabi in my opinion. Usually I come here for one thing, and one thing only; the Adonis Schwarma on a pita. It is quite similar to the Monfort Chicken on a Pita served at Monfort, but with one brilliant addition - BACON. You get seasoned chicken breast, pineapple, garlic sauce, your choice of a wholewheat or white pita, and the option to have it prepared spicy, plus BACON. Delicious! Additionally, the portion size is larger than at Monfort's, and I prefer the taste of the garlic sauce at Adonis. The service at Adonis is super friendly. You can tell that it is family owned and operated as it is the same staff working whenever I visit. You also know it is good service if every time you leave walking away thinking that the waitress is flirting with you. Me and my friends all feel this way, which is a good way to leave a restaurant. If anything, it does take a while to prepare your order, so I usually call ahead and take it to go. Overall, I highly recommend Adonis. It loses one star for the wait times, but it is certainly one of Oakville's best hidden jewels!

I had the falafel pita with fries and it was amazing. I think if I was starving, it wouldn't have been enough, but for a lunch portion, it suited me just fine. And their garlic sauce is devine! We kept having to ask for refills of it because we were all heaping it on our food like it was going out of style. Everyone at our table enjoyed what they ordered, so considering we had a decent smattering of the menu, this leads me to believe that their food is all quite good. I will definitely go here again next time I'm in Burlington!

It came with a side salad as well as a side of white rice as well as 1 pita. The condiments are where the money shot is. Usually they're great. The onion & the Garlic sauce are/were usually fabulous but in this case they weren't! This is where the wheels fall off! The rice was just luke warm, the chicken was dry & flavourless but there was lots of it. The pita was only slightly warm & hardish. As for the service, our server (no name on cheque) was solid & had a great sense of humour. The ambiance was old school & the decor was in serious need of updating. The bathroom was super old & in very serious need of an update as well. This chain has been around for a while. Not a great reflection of my previous experiences with this small local chain. I would go again but definitely not to this location.
