The plaza is just getting under way with and leading the spear hear has been Catania with its wonderful Coastal Italian Cuisine, followed by Elixir with it delectable crepes and smooth coffees. Recently opened, the Beaming Super Food Cafe provides convenient pure organic foods. Coming soon is Le Petit Bistrot with Parisian home style cuisine this coming winter 2016. The plaza has a few shops already with more to come. The shops available now are Kenneth Barlis Boutique, Azzurra Capri, La Scarpa, and opening very soon, YOGASMOGA for all you yoga lovers! The plaza is three levels with stairs and elevators, has a quaint comfortable outside seating area, large potted Dracaenas, and with a Spanish and Moroccan architecture. There are still a variety of spaces available, so there should be nice new shops and perhaps some new eateries as well. Oh yes, the Jeff Mitchum Art Gallery has just opened too.

There are a few restaurants here that I personally like, especially Din Tai Fung and Haidilao. There's also Starbucks and plenty of other spots depending on what you're in the mood for. The whole area just has a comfortable vibe to it compared to a lot of other malls. Parking has honestly never been too difficult for me either. Even when it gets busy, I can usually still find a spot without too much trouble.

Upon entering, you're handed a cheerful little ticket promising a free first hour--how generous! What they don't tell you is that you'll spend roughly two-thirds of that hour trapped in a slow-moving purgatory just trying to escape. You've got about 20 blissful minutes to enjoy yourself before trying to join the line of cars that moves slower than a sloth on melatonin. I genuinely cannot tell if the exit gates are malfunctioning, cursed, or if the drivers ahead of me were participating in some sort of cognitive endurance experiment. Multiple cars took a baffling 4-5 minutes each at the gate--an interaction that should take about 10 seconds unless you're attempting to solve a Rubik's cube while blindfolded. By the time I escaped, I had aged another decade. I will absolutely never return to this parking lot. Bring a helicopter. Hope this helps.

What is there, and open, is the Nordstrom's Rack, BJ's, a new sandwich place (sorry, I don't recall the name right now). BJ's and the sandwich place are located in the corner where Friday's used to be. And they've opened a Verizon store there, also. Over in the main area, a juice bar is opening soon; the signs are up but nobody's home yet. Oh, and the parking lot has been totally redone and, in my opinion, is much better than it was.

Why I waited so long, I don't know. It's definitely a steep trek down, and the stairs can be a bit slippery, so hold on. Once you get down, you will see an amazing view of La Jolla Cove. So many great dresses, shoes, accessories and summery items. The prices were reasonable and the staff was helpful and friendly despite being very busy. Looking them up on Yelp, I see they have a few locations. I used to live at wind n sea and I wish this store was there when I did. I'll definitely come back when I need an outfit for an event or just to peruse.

That was a nice touch, extra service. The prices are not the cheapest but they have some really nice items, and as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for, quality is not cheap. There is some street parking on the road right in front of the store, there are also some paid parking garages nearby. It is also a short walk over to the ocean from here. They had a really great mix of higher-end children's clothing, brand name play clothes, and Montessori-style toys. I was running out of luggage space at this point of my trip but I just had to bring this beautiful Rachel Riley coat that made my daughter look like Little Red Riding home. The person at the front desk was really friendly and I commented when I saw she was reading a manga my husband reads. She said that she was actually pre-reading it for her grandson and that totally warmed my heart. I love a consignment store where they truly care about children.

I asked him if he could discount it he told me if I wanted it bad enough take it home and clean it up myself and pay full price. Then started laughing at me when I asked him if he felt that was a reasonable response. I really wanted to walk out and leave it! Should have but my daughter was bawling it was last one and wed been looking for a squeaky seal. I paid for it and He was stumbling and dropped the change on the ground and was stumbling to pick it up. Then he jumped on the phone to tell someone the ignorant customer he had to deal with before we were even gone. I hope the rest of La Jolla isn't like this :( I hope the owner is able to speak to the employees because it's otherwise a super cute shop :(
