Initially Alex Minaboo, the owner, came to look the job over and in that visit recommended replacing all the heating ducts in the house. He tried to sell me a heat pump system which I did not want to do since the existing furnace is only three years old. There was nothing in the home energy assessment report indicating I needed to replace the furnace or the ducts. A few weeks later, the foreman (I think that is his role) came by to assess the job, and said he did not think the ducts needed to be replaced as they were still quite new. I opted to not replace the ducts but to proceed with the air sealing of the heating system that was recommended in the home energy assessment. Alex later said the air sealing could cause a problem for the furnace, which he said was too large for this size house. He suggested that adding an additional heat register might mitigate a potential problem with rapid cycling, and I opted to do this. In the course of All Things Good sealing the heating ducts and adding the new register, the blower on the furnace stopped working. Alex deflected and denied responsibility for his company causing the problem, disparaged another company that had installed the furnace, and argued that his company could not be held responsible for damages when something breaks in an old house while they are working on it, referring me to a clause in their contract. To fix the furnace, All Things Good charged $1200.00 in labor costs (for a job that took no more than 2 hours on site) and the blower was about $700 more). I have always thought "if you break it, you fix it" and I was floored by how this was being handled, but since I do not know HVAC systems and could not in good conscience argue that I was certain the breakdown was caused by their work, I proposed we split the bill for fixing the furnace. My offer was refused. Alex then had the gall to argue he was already giving me a discount on labor costs, and threatened that if I did not pay he would put a lien on my house. I paid the bill because it was not worth my time to fight with All Things Good. I see a number of positive reviews here and at least one that is like mine. My experience was very unsatisfactory and I will certainly never use this company again.

And then it turned out that they were much busier than they said they were and they encouraged me to just do the project in January and commit tax fraud and say I had done it in December. When I finally got them to agree to an end of December date, it then turned out that they didn't have the permit in time. So then they encouraged me to break the law and let them start to work without a permit. When I said I didn't want to do anything illegal and I didn't want to proceed if it was then going to cost thousands of extra dollars because they couldn't get it done when they said they would, they then terminated the contract and said they were going to send me a bill for $800 and sue me if I didn't pay I did not have a great experience with this company

We paid for a Manual J calculation and a Blower Door test to determine the correct heat pump size for our home. Two technicians came on December 16, 2024, and the inspection lasted about 30 minutes. During the visit, they were courteous and professional and promised to provide: * A list of heat pump vendors * The proper heat pump size * Recommended installers On January 4, 2025, they sent us a BayREN Home Energy Audit report, but it wasn't even for our house. The report falsely stated that we had solar panels, which we do not. We immediately reached out to correct the discrepancies and request the Manual J calculation and heat pump recommendations we paid for. Since then, they have given us nothing but the runaround. It is now March 28, 2025, and we still have not received the services we paid for. Despite multiple follow-up emails (at least six or seven over the past few months), they continue to delay and have not provided our Manual J calculation, heat pump size, or vendor recommendations. I'm giving two stars because the technicians who came out were friendly and professional. However, the company's follow-through has been terrible. I agree with the other reviewer who warned not to pay them upfront--as soon as they cashed our check, they disappeared. Avoid this company unless you want to waste your time and money.

We were impressed with Bryan's outstanding professionalism and excellent skills. We immediately noticed his sincere interest, dedication and integrity with regards to resolving any concerns that we had. He was also punctual and very neat and clean. So, it is with sincere pleasure that we would like to acknowledge and commend Bryan for providing us with the very best service. His work is impeccable and exemplary. Katie, at the office, also kept us informed every step of the way. She has impeccable business etiquette, listening skills and professional decorum. We continue to be very grateful to both Bryan and Katie for their time and assistance. You can rest assured that they are a refreshing asset to their industry.

Katie immediately answered my first phone call, explained HERS and the entire process to me, with a super reasonable quote; 2. From the moment I decided to work with them, Katie sent me texts and emails with appointment schedule, and straight forward guidance of CalCERTS registration and reports; 3. The certified validator Bryan arrived on time, with needed equipments and tools, and was VERY POLITE and RESPECTFUL of our property. Just as much as Katie does, he cares about his customers. The HERS testing went so smoothly and professionally. Bryan explained the policy limit of inflow/outflow efficiency ratio must be less than 5%, and we passed. Bryan left passed 12pm, by 4pm the same day we received CalCERTS official report and certificate in our email from Katie. From my first confirmation with Katie, this HERS testing project was done in less than 3 business days! It could be done in 24 hours but I would not be home that time so Katie coordinated per my schedule! After 1.5 years working on a (still ongoing) house addition&renovation project and experiencing so many headaches caused from unprofessional (and/or greedy) contractors, Katie and Bryan are definitely THE BEST. If you ever need HERS testing in Bay Area, please, support honest and great people like Katie and Bryan!
