They send out misleading junk mail letters masquerading as official government documents. Do not do business with shady companies like this.

I married into the 5th Third Bank family and as far as banking goes I have not had a satisfying day…read moresince. Their customer service phone menu is ridiculous. Twice I entered correctly my account number and last 4 of my social and the computer told me it didn't match their records but instead of transferring me to a live attendant it put me back in the queue both times to start over. There was no way for me to actually speak to a person if somehow this information was incorrect. I verified the information was correct so something else was wrong but their system told me if I didn't enter the correct information it would just disconnect me and in fact, did it twice. I hung up and called back the third time and just kept pressing zero repeatedly until finally I got to speak to a live person. She was not concerned at all with the problems I had with their customer service menu queue and how ridiculous it was to try to talk to someone. There is no reason it should take me over 45 minutes to get through to my bank and to be given attitude when I finally get through. With a bank on every corner why do they treat you like they are your only option and you don't have choices. I would never recommend Fifth Third Bank to anyone.

Friendly, capable and knowledgeable staff are but a few of the ways to describe Fifth Third and the Oswego branch has a great team!

Fifth Third Bank used to be excellent, and very customer oriented. I've been with them a while--at…read moreleast a decade. Last week, I asked if I needed an appt to get vacation cash. No, they said, it's no problem to just come in for that amount, and they can fulfill it on the spot. Today, I went in and the way the lady counted my cash was to keep her back to me, while she used the machine, standing completely in front of the cash counting machine, and then, hand me a wad of cash, all different denominations in the stack together, and offer me an envelope. When I said, "I was hoping you would separate it out for me, into denominations," (and count it, as they normally do), she handed me an envelope to put it in and looked annoyed. I'm old enough to know you're supposed to allow the customer to view you placing it into the machine that counts the cash, offer to count it out in front of them by hand, and then, separate it into the denominations--not just hand them a wad of cash. I took my cash home. Of course, she made a mistake, and gave me $50.00's instead of the 20's that I requested. At least the total amount was accurate. I had no idea what I had, until I placed it out on my kitchen table. Also, they no longer take coins, unless you have them rolled. Okay, 5th 3rd--what is the service that you're providing?
