We were…read moreunder contract on a house, and it felt like the sellers were trying to hide a problem -- one basement wall was literally blocked off with boxes stacked almost to the ceiling. He moved everything , checked carefully, and found structural cracking that could have easily been missed. He even looked behind the refrigerator -- who does that? What really blew me away was how detail-oriented he was. He wasn't rushing, and he wasn't doing the bare minimum. He was genuinely trying to protect us from making a very expensive mistake. And on top of that, he explained everything in plain English. He used simple examples to explain how the foundation and framing work -- the kind of explanation you could tell to a kid and they'd get it. That clarity made it easy for us to understand what we were dealing with and make a decision. I'm honestly so grateful. Buying a house is a huge commitment, and Joseph treated it like it mattered. If you're looking for a structural engineer who is careful, honest, and SUPER detail-oriented, I can't recommend Joseph enough.

I would strongly warn anyone considering Saul Masonary LLC to think twice before hiring them…read more It has only been approximately two years since the work was completed, and the pavers are already sinking and the stairs are falling apart. In my experience, this is unacceptable workmanship for something that should have lasted far longer than two years. What makes the situation even worse is that these problems are not just cosmetic. The sinking pavers and deteriorating stairs have created what I consider a serious safety hazard for me and my family. I hired a professional contractor expecting the job to be done correctly, safely, and built to last. Instead, I am now dealing with failing masonry, potential repair expenses, and the stress of trying to get the contractor to address the problems. I was also given a warranty, but in my experience Saul Masonary LLC has failed to stand behind it. I have attempted to get these issues addressed and have not received the response or resolution I expected. A warranty means very little if a contractor refuses to respond when the work begins failing. At this point, because the problems have not been resolved, I intend to pursue the matter in court and seek recovery for the damages and costs associated with repairing the work. Based on my personal experience, I would NEVER hire Saul Masonary LLC again. I would not recommend them to my friends, family, neighbors, or anyone looking for masonry work. I would seriously reconsider before allowing this company onto your property. If you hire a contractor, you should be able to expect quality workmanship, safe construction, communication when something goes wrong, and a warranty that is actually honored. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience with Saul Masonary LLC.

UPDATE: Management has reached out and taken 100% accountability for the clerical error. The owner…read morehas promised to replace the gate with the correct lattice style and extend our warranty. I am temporarily updating this review to show they are working to resolve the issue. Once the correct gate is fully installed, this review will be removed completely. Unprofessional Bait-and-Switch - Using Their Contract Typos to Shortchange Customers Beware of Continental Home Group if you value honesty. Back on April 30th, we negotiated a fence project and explicitly requested a price match based on a competitor's quote that included '1 lattice gate.' The sales representative, Joe, confirmed in writing via text that the owner approved adding the lattice upgrade for free to match the deal and secure our business at a final price of $5,595. We paid them 100% in full and in good faith. However, the company committed a clerical error on the final paperwork they drafted by omitting the word 'lattice' on the line item. They then installed a plain, standard gate. When we immediately pointed out the error upon completion, they tried to gaslight us. First, the sales rep tried to claim a lattice gate was 'never discussed' (completely contradicting his own text messages). We very clearly stated a competitor (Modern Fencing) offered a lower price with the lattice gate included. The very definition of price matching is giving a better price for the same exact offer, so how did we end up not getting it in the price matched offer by CHG? Then, they tried to blame us for not acting as their job-site construction supervisors to stop the crew mid-installation. I notified Joe immediately after the crew left that same day that the gate was incorrect. He blamed me for not speaking up after it was already installed, even though the labor and material costs to swap it out would be the same regardless. Finally, they demanded an extra extortion fee of $500, or told us we had to 'buy a whole new project' just to get the gate we already paid for. Highway robbery to charge that much just to replace a gate. Using your own corporate typographical error to hold a fully paid customer's gate hostage for more cash is a completely unethical, bad-faith business practice. I am currently filing a formal consumer fraud complaint with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and initiating a small claims lawsuit in the Middlesex County Special Civil Part to recover the cost of hiring a reputable company to fix their mistake. Check every single syllable of their paperwork, because they will aggressively exploit their own mistakes to avoid honoring their written text commitments. This is not how you treat a paying customer. I regret not staying with Modern Fencing. Not only were they cheaper, we would have gotten exactly what we asked for. Instead we got bait and switched by Continental Home Group.
