I have been a client of Alleviate for almost a year...I am on a payment plan with the IRS, and they have asusured me that they will be able to stop the IRS from collecting the $275 per month that I pay....a year later, they have submitted my case to the IRS but their attorney says because I actually make my payments to the IRS, that they will likely be unsuccessful. They say I should stop making my payments. Are they on crack??? I will NOT default a payment plan to the IRS...lol I am on a plan with ALleviate. They charge me $3,000 and I pay them $100 per month. They use predatory tactics to lure my mother into utilizing the service. Took a 300$ fee promising they could greatly rduce amounts owed and would help her through a government program. Then a week or two later demanded 3000$ ontop of what she owed thus increasing what she would have to pay by atleast 3300$. The original fee is non refundable as they have you agree to a 'contract' of service that binds you in legal ways and if you refuse to move forward with the larger payment they begin to call back and harass you agressively. I recommend this course of action by anyone else who falls afowl of them as it is the course of action i will be taking as well as reporting them on any and every service i can find. There are tons of other complaints i'm finding filed against them and i only wish i had known about it before she paid the initial fee. To report a fraudulent preparer: Use Form 14157, Return Preparer Complaint, if a preparer engaged in fraud or misconduct. For more serious cases where a preparer filed or altered a return without your consent, you must also submit Form 14157-A, Tax Return Preparer Fraud or Misconduct Affidavit, and file a police report. read more

They claim to be tax experts and professionals, and claim if you try to negotiate with the IRS without their representation you're fighting a losing battle. They claim they can help you save thousands, and will use scare tactics such as the IRS freezing your accounts, sending officers after you, etc. After almost an entire year and $11k in fees, they did what my CPA could've done for $500. Do yourself a huge favor and avoid them like the plague. Update: Alleviate Tax wanted an additional $8000 to "help" me with my 2024 taxes. Please, do not give them a single penny. What they do for you is something you can easily do with any cpa for a fraction of the cost. I wish I could give them less than a 1 start review. They deserve to be out of business. I hired them for a penalty abatement, meaning I would get back a portion if not all of the penalties that I paid to the IRS. The guy that sold me this extremely expensive service said I qualified, so based on the amount I paid in penalties, I figured it would be worth it. This company is a scam. i Spent two years being handed from one representative to the next (about 10 total). my case was constantly delayed and at the end they did not save me one penny, as a matter of fact, I spent an extra $17,000 out of pocket for Alleviate's shitty services ($15k) and a couple more thousand for penalties and fees that accrued while Alleviate took its sweet time to do nothing. First time contacting them Olivia Berdyna the representative assured me that it would be around the same price ($5000) as another quote I had received from another company but would not give me a confirmed price. and that with my tax situation they could most likely get my back taxes lowered by a lot. Then had to pay $265 to proceed with going with this company assuring me it would be close to that price. Then into the next stage talking with Jason Haber guaranteed me that if I committed to signing the contract, they would be able to stop the IRS from garnishing my paycheck within a month. Signed the contract and Jason come back with a charge for their services at $7200. I asked why Olivia had said it would be close to $5000, and he had no response. This did not happen and after several attempts to contact them, had to call customer service to get a call back. Once Omid Salimpour called me back, he stated that they cannot stop the garnishments until we reached a deal to submit to the IRS. A month later Omid called me to give me a deal they had put together and it they did nothing to reduce my taxes for interest or my bill. He stated $800 a month plus $367 for their service. So, they did absolutely nothing to reduce my taxes or have certain programs so promised I would qualify for. And since they dragged the progress on for 2 months, they want me to pat the full amount for doing nothing. I talked with Jim Ortiz today and he also said the other representatives should not have guaranteed me what they told me but this is where we are in the situation. I told him if i would have known all of this i would not have signed a contract with this company. After all that was promised that would happen i do not trust this company to continue with anything they say that they can get done. Please if they can refund my money and cancel the contract. I did receive a call back, and was told that yes, they were in the wrong for telling me false information and promising me what would happen if i purchased their services. They still tried to get me to continue with their company and i told them no i do not trust whatever they say they can do from this point on. They admitted they were wrong for guaranteeing It would be the around the same price as a different company and that they would get the garnishment to stop by the first on the next month. They asked me to stop with the better business bureau complaint yesterday and they would figure a way to resolve this matter later. I told them no, I don't trust your company to follow through with anything. I told them they have done nothing but submit a power of attorney to the IRS and they sent me spread sheets that was already produces by the IRS. They agreed with me but still said i should continue with paying them for their services. Also stated that after doing my own research, the IRS cannot garnish my Veterans disability pay, and if the IRS took the 25%-50% of my current source of income it would still be cheaper than paying for their services that now cannot guarantee results. They said i would have to contact Monterey Financial Services since I had to finance the money for their services, I told them that your problem since I am terminating your services. I also told them since they have all the phone recordings, they would need to provide them if I were to takes this to court for false information to sign a contract with their company. Theres no service they have actually provided and would like my money back since they have not provided any truthful services that they said they could provide.
