What's the one item that you always look for at gluten-free bakeries? For me, I try to get a cinnamon roll as my main way of comparing gluten-free bakeries. As a celiac, every time I go to a different US state, I try to go to at least 1 gluten-free bakery. While visiting Colorado over the weekend, I stopped in at Allergy Free Baking Company, a walk-in bakery in Morrison, Colorado that specializes is gluten-free, dairy-free, treenut-free and peanut-free baked goods. I purchased a cinnamon roll for $6 and an oatmeal cream pie / whoopie pie for $5.50. Sales tax is an additional 8.25% ~~ Whoopie Pie ~~ The whoopie pie was gigantic and took me 2 days to finish eating. For $5.25, it was larger and better priced than other gluten-free bakeries I've been to. Cookie ingredients: coconut oil, palm oil shortening, brown sugar, sugar, eggs, gluten-free oats, brown rice flour, tapioca starch, potato starch, applesauce, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, xanthan gum, vanilla. Filling: powdered sugar (contains cornstarch,) palm oil shortening, coconut milk, salt, vanilla bean paste. ~~ Cinnamon Roll ~~ The cinnamon roll was a great price at $6. The icing comes on the side so you can put as much or as little as you want on. Do not eat this cold. You'll miss out on the fluffy, yeasted texture. It was perfect at 1 minute in the microwave. Ingredients: sorghum flour, tapioca flour, brown rice flour, sweet rice flour, white rice flour, potato starch, tapioca starch, modified tapioca starch, millet flour, sugar, canola oil, flax, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, yeast, cream of tartar, baking soda, arrowroot, xanthan gum, salt, ginger, sunflower lecithin. Filling: palm oil shortening, brown sugar, cinnamon Frosting: powdered sugar (contains cornstarch), palm oil shortening, coconut milk This is a place where you can only order your items to go. Everything is GF (gluten free) and NF (nut free) - they have DF (dairy free), EF (egg free) options. Gluten free, Vegan fellow here. Have been to many GF bakeries. This is one of my faves. If you're vegan, there are only so many options available daily, but they are all pretty good. I've not yet had their bready items, but... Cupcakes - moist, delicious, various sizes, quantities Cookies - quite good, consistent, a little dry (chocolate chip, oatmeal, and snickerdoodles are awesome) Scones - a little dry, but just fine with coffee (blueberry for me anytime) Donuts - not my faves, but not bad at all Cinnamon Rolls - pretty freakin' awesome For anything somewhat dry, a little time under a wet paper towel in the microwave does wonders - especially the cinnamon rolls. We picked up the gluten free, vegan cinnamon rolls for my daughter for Christmas as we are navigating through some of her stomach issues. We normally just get Annie's canned cinnamon rolls which are superior (to our family). The cinnamon rolls came frozen in a pack of 4 for $24. I was really hoping to just get one, but I think this was how they were sold for Christmas (maybe?). My daughter didn't love it because she is used to eating regular cinnamon rolls, but I think it's good for what it is - allergy friendly. I love that this bakery offers many options that are allergy friendly. Don't love the price though. We might come back depending on the outcome of my daughter's diet restrictions. read more

We used to adore this place. My husband grew up in NYC and was used to real bagels and even he loved the bagels here. A year or more ago, it switched ownership and the food is not the same. It's now dry and crumbly like the usual gluten free foods. My husband spit out the bagel! They use canola oil. I'm really bummed as this place was so good that I had no idea what we would ever do if we moved. Now, meh. I wish they would go back to the old recipes. read more

Cute little shop with super fast and friendly service! Ran in quickly after work and left with a pumpkin scone, 2 cinnamon rolls, and a thing of everything bagels. I don't have any allergies, but visited based on the recommendations from the employees at Tommy's Subs (a couple of doors down). They didn't steer me wrong. All of the items are gluten and nut free, and a smaller number are milk and egg free. If you need to know which has what, the employees will be happy to tell you. I thought the baked goods were excellent. The pumpkin/chocolate mini bundt cake was moist and very tasty. I would not have guessed it was gluten free. Allergy free baking company is a life saver over here in Morrison... I moved over here from Wash Park, the land of tasty treats that could be found without gluten or dairy. I love everything I have had from here. Cinnamon rolls, cookies , mini bundt cakes (my fav), oh and the chocolate doughnuts.. don't even get me started.. the only bummer is both owners are kind of rude. Sigh.. I have been there over a half dozen times and every time the owner asks if I have an allergy and every time I say "no I just enjoy eating grain free." At this point she dismisses me and is done being nice. I have had my husband, mother and a friend notice ... I thought I was just being sensitive but NOPE just slightly rude! I've been to a lot of GF bakeries and this is bar none the finest quality baked goods ANYWHERE in Colorado!! I've never minded cooking GF but don't enjoy baking and it never fails to surprise me how allergy friendly bakeries think it's acceptable to sell dry as dust, sugar laden crap and call it gluten friendly...no, those over-priced specialty places are the reason we GF'ers hate our allergies. This place is a total 180 from any other allergy free bakery...the baked goods actually taste like baked goods, as opposed to eating a giant sugar cube with icing.... I love the concept of this bakery and appreciate all they have to offer. I do find that it's a hit and miss when it comes to finding items that are "soft to eat." Often my muffin or cookie is not soft and a bit dry, but I still keep coming back hoping for a better experience in that respect. read more

Went there today for my first visit, got there at 0902, I got liter6one of everything and we enjoyed tasting them all on the way home. My fav6was the brownie, banana bread, lemon pound cake, lemon blueberry bundt cake, snickerdoodle cookie, you can tell I like sweets. Just a very nice small home town bakery that we really enjoyed. The vegan chocolate chip cookies, gf/nut free chocolate chip cookies and banana chocolate mini muffins were a hit! A treat paradise for anyone who is gluten free and dairy free! Everything I have tried is delicious and so fresh tasting. So far one of my favorites is the strawberry scone which is so yummy with fresh strawberries throughout it. You can tell that they use high quality ingredients. Saturday is the best day to go as they offer the most fresh items then. My gluten eating husband says you can't tell that there is no gluten or dairy in the pastries.
