When your foot hits the front stone step, it rests in a groove worn over the course of 80 years. That is a detail so interesting but no one would care about except me... So many of these original places are long gone, replaced by mega-chain stores. What they can't replace is the attention to detail and quality that a place like Jones Boys does very well. Apple brats. Never had a better bratwurst, and i've had dozens of different ones over the years. Grilled over indirect heat, they are perfect. English bangers are also very good as a mild breakfast sausage. They have a modest variety of grocery options, dry goods and necessities. Also of note are the dozen or so BBQ sauce varieties. Service is so helpful and friendly. I loved talking with the guy at the meat counter, who explained the history of the place, and it's growing popularity with foodie travelers abroad. It was showing a much higher price . We took the 50.00 bike to return desk to see if they could sell it to me for price showing where the bike was in the rack .I was told that they did not have the authority to do so, that manager would make that determination. I asked if I could speak with him. The desk called for him to talk with me. About 15 minutes later a person walked up . His personal appearance lead me to believe he was a customer not the manager. I asked him if I could buy the bike for the price that was listed . In no certain terms was he willing try to work with me . I went home and contacted Godfrey Walmart and was able to get a bike shipped to me that slightly cheaper for $50.00.Very bad experience !!!

The customer service was top notch. The shelves were always well stocked. My local Walmart now is referred to as "the out of stock store." If you have a list you are guaranteed to leave with only 2/3 of the things on that list as my current Walmart WILL be out of stock. My local Walmart must have a beacon atop of it that calls out to all those crazy "people of Walmart" to go there. We have more than our share of these people. We may have 2-3 lanes open. All the serve yourself checkouts are open. Those checkouts are backed up because no one wants to wait in the couple other services lanes actually open. Many of the staff are rude or cranky. Who could blame them? Working in those conditions. Enjoy your good Walmart because they're not all that way. We quit going except when we feel we have no choice....maybe once every couple months.
