In hindsight I think I unintentionally played it smart by avoiding the early rush. There are six med/large washing machines ($3.75 base price) and ten jumbo ($6.75); one of each was out of service. Extra rinse and heavy soil are another $0.25-50 I think. Jumbo was big enough for two kids' sleeping bags. The wash took 40 minutes. For the dryers: ten standard ones (but pretty large-capacity -- I got both the sleeping bags in there) ($2.75) and four really big ones ($3.75). It was 35 min to dry, so there's no backup of wet clothes from the wash waiting to get to the next step like at my old apartment... A handful of trolleys are available to move your clothes around, and also a few tables for folding. Place was clean. No music, no TV. Lots of outlets to charge up. Target WiFi available tho not very strong. Big lot so parking is no problem. The machines take quarters only. I DID NOT see a way to pay with a card, so bring cash to make change.

Those places often defined "disrepair", "uncredited for" and "filthy." Sometimes those SoCali laundromats were straight up gross! This place in Aloha, Oregon which is Beaverton-west, was very clean, albeit during the pre-closing hours between 9pm-10:15pm when I visited. Four workers doing cleanup when I was there. Clean bathrooms even though it was fairly crowded considering the time. My only complaint? The main cleaning dude was in my washer detregent area spraying stuff BEFORE I could take my clothes out. What is that all about? Anyway, good place if my wife and I need to forego our home washer for some reason. Oh, and I dried my clothes at home.

A couple of months back, I also had a small load of dark clothes to wash, so I used a smaller machine for them. I selected the 'Cold' cycle as I always do, yet the wash and rinse cycle were both 'Hot', not even warm. Needless to say, my T-shirts shrunk...I now was a 75 year old man on a budget, walking around wearing short halter tops! A couple of weeks after that, their 60# machines were out of order, so I had to use several smaller ones. I again selected the 'Cold' cycle yet those wash and rinse cycles were also hot. Two weeks ago I used the 60# again and when adding the bleach, I noticed hot air coming from the opening. As mentioned earlier, I love this place because its ALWAYS 'squeaky clean', but because the machines offer the choice of which water temperature one requires, but the owners don't, so factoring in the price of gas and replacing some clothes, I'm sorry to say I now have to go elsewhere, I only gave it a 2* rating for the machine issues only, for everything else, I definitely give it a 5* rating.

Okay, first of all, whoever called this place "modern" has clearly never done laundry in downtown Sacramento. Because, no. I couldn't find any electric outlets anywhere, and I searched really, really hard for one. They seemed to be intentionally hidden and obscured so as to prevent customers from using them. The washers and dryers were clean enough, but the soap compartments on the washers were nasty. For people with allergies and skin sensitivity issues, this can be a really big deal. You'd either have to come prepared to clean the machine yourself, or end up with all kinds of random soaps and detergents on your things. The price was a little bit higher than I'm used to paying at $6.50 total to wash and dry the equivalent of 3 small loads. The parking lot seemed to be very popular with people who came to loiter and blast music. I saw at least one guy come through looking like he was looking for idle clothes to steal, but he didn't find any. My clothes did get clean and the time the machines needed was reasonable, even though the machines looked ancient and you could literally hear air leaking from the dryer.
