Made 4 calls to the sales department to request a service call to upgrade our system. Was on hold for so long had to leave voicemails all 4 times I called. None of my calls were ever returned! The last straw was while out of town we received a text stating that our alarm had been tripped. The monitoring center for Vector never called the police! We ended up calling them directly ourselves! Thankfully, it was a false alarm. But what good is a security company that doesn't dispatch the police? Wanted to make a complaint to someone higher up in the company but no one ever picks up or returns a phone call. Attempting to transfer our service to ADT or Guardian. Can't happen soon enough!

A nice technician came up and installed 3 new pads that had wonderful pictures but still we had notices that the phone was not connected, which I assume means nothing was going to the police, fire etc, The system is usless except for the door dings. We did have a false alarm for fire today with no basis. We went with Vector for over 39 years but we are getting out of this because this company is a wreck and can't deliver basic services.

The woman who answered the call advised that I was not registered with them and they could not service my system. No offer to from her to rectify the situation. Judging from the reviews I decided to call another alarm company and they agreed to make the repair at a reasonable price.

Their response was to have a technician talk me through DIY fix. Really !? I am so disappointed! I am an ICU RN who had to leave work early due to sleep deprivation from false alarms all night. I contracted the Princeton, NJ (perhaps the original) Vector office 30 years ago to have my large house hardwired and began a tenure of ultimate satisfaction. Then Vector was acquired and its goodwill and quality reputation was raped for whatever could be extracted by managers skilled in finding low-cost substitutes for quality (they're website and phone management is a cruel joke with no punchline). The culmination for me came when Verizon, my hard-wireed "twisted pair" phone vendor went digital - relegating my security to a system that could "go down" globally (while copper wires do not). Vector offered me a cellular phone upgrade to preserve my expensive hard-wired investment. But - they wanted me to pay for the hardware (at a 200% markup) and raise my monthly rate. I offered them to put the cell in for free and I'd sign a 2-year contract to allow them to amortize the cell cost. "We'll call you back soon." was the answer. Several months later, I get a bill for the service they were no longer providing. When I called them to negotiate the$100+ bill and give me an answer to the proposition they were going to get back to me with, they said no such proposition was even considered. Well Vector Security, "VECTOR THIS." I would not engage this company to guard my dead dog's grave. And I really loved that dog.
