My husband and I got married in 2024 and I still think about how much I regret hiring her. Writing this review so that someone else doesn't make the same mistake. We should have fired her when she CCd my mother in law on an email to our DJ saying my husband and I would not be signing paperwork at the wedding because we were already married. Still not sure why the DJ needed to know we weren't married. But because of her lack of attention to detail my in laws found out via email that my husband and I were already married before our wedding... She said she couldn't show up to our rehearsal dinner because she had a prior commitment so we had to make accommodations for her to come to our venue and do a walkthrough the day before our rehearsal dinner. So my husband and I had to do the walkthrough with our bridal party without any direction from her which was one of the main reasons we hired her. On the day of the wedding she was never around to help answer questions when I needed her. Every time I turned around she was on her phone or eating. She caused more stress than help and didn't follow direction well at all. Luckily we had a wonderful photographer and videographer who kept us on schedule and who were doing her job even though they shouldn't have had to. I had asked her to fluff my veil once it was time for me to walk down the aisle. She agreed but once I got to the aisle she just stood there and smiled at me and didn't help at all. So the photos I got walking down the aisle were with a jumbled up veil. My last straw was when my husband and I came back from taking photos and I saw her standing there eating a plate of food meanwhile none of our guests had been released to get food so people had started to form a long line and our bridal party and our parents were at the very end of it. She didn't release anyone to get food but made sure she got her plate first. Mind you she also required we bring her a lunch so it's not like she wasn't being fed. We fired her after that. She refunded us half of the bill but I wish I would have trusted my gut and not hired her from the beginning.

If you want 5-star entertainment, you have to pay for it. 3) My wife and I never felt bored or awkward and there was never a moment where we noticed a lack of flow. The DJ's were on point at the ENTIRE night (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception) with music, announcements, and fill-in entertainment that kept our guests on their toes. 4) We had 275 rowdy guests and Event Team handled it like champs. 5) If you need extras: up-lighting, TV's, projectors, etc.- they have it. 6) Our head DJ, Shawn, never hesitated to take our requests for additions or subtractions to playlists, slideshows, etc.- and we made a LOT of them. Craig on the other hand, did a great job of walking the line between giving us all the things we wanted (and nothing that we specifically banned), and still reading the room as the night went on. We ended up paying to extend the dance portion of the reception because everyone was having such a great time (a request Craig was happy to accommodate), and even with the extra expense, it was quite reasonably priced. But if you have a photographer like Brian, it can be FAR less painful. I still hated having my picture that much, but at least I had someone fun and super talented on the other end of the lense. I met Brian at the Bravo Wedding show. If you are getting married, I recommend going to this show. He was friendly and chatty and gave us a coupon for a free engagement session if we used him. I was sold, but the hubby wanted to talk to a couple other photographers. So a few weeks later we made the rounds to the 4 or 5 we had narrowed our choices down to. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the other photographers, but I just knew that Brian was going to be the right fit for us. And can I add that the price was right? You will spend a WHOLE lot more with some of the comprable wedding photographers in Portland. Brian did our engagement photos for us in Cannon Beach, where we got engaged. We ran all over the city taking pictures and finished with some pictures on the beach. Not only was the session free, but he only charged us $150 to travel all the way out to the beach. A steal if you ask me. The day of the wedding was just as good. Everyone was smiling and really enjoying the whole experience... which if you knew my husband and some of his freinds, the amount of smiling they did was a miracle. I give Brian all the credit for that. :) He even managed to pull of a last minute save as my mother tripped over her pants and went tumbling forward. Not a bruise on her or his camera. How many people could pull THAT off? The website he posts the pictures on is simple to use, which is a bonus for those not-so-computer-literate family members. And he will sell you all of the negatives. We got our wedding, wedding rehearsal, and engagement photos all for one price. And when one of our books didn't come back the way he wanted it, he turned around and ordered a new one. A several hundred dollar loss to him, but some two very happy clients. Seriously, I have no idea how he made any money off of us... My only warning is that it can take a couple weeks to get your photos. We got our about a week after our honeymoon, which was fine with us. But if you are going to want your wedding photos the next day, Brian isn't for you. But the quality of his work makes it worth the wait. So, if you need a wedding photographer, give him a call. You'll love how friendly he is and how relaxed you will be. I checked out his website to learn more about him, saw that he had experience doing corporate and private events so I decided to initiate contact. Despite being out of the country on vacation and on basically different time schedules initially, Short Change was quick to respond to get the conversation started and the basic questions answered. He indicated he was available for our event and immediately made us feel comfortable, assuring us that he had everything under control. Boy, did he deliver. Having given him such a short runway for planning and with everything else going on, there was bound to be some sort of hiccup that came up yet DJ Short Change navigated the evening professionally and everything was executed perfectly - if there was a hiccup, we couldn't tell. Short Change nailed the all of the "must have" songs, played great music overall and read the crowd well. He kept the party moving... so much so that I asked him to stay an additional hour as there was no way we'd be able to keep up the same vibe. Change served as party MC, keeping the energy up and directing folks to the food, Photo Booth and (of course) to the dance floor. While this cat can throw down any musical genre like a pro (you gotta check out his reggae shows), I needed 80s music running the gamut from heavy metal and punk to R&B and New Wave. Change happily took requests from my classmates leading up to the event and during the party and brought his own flavor to the party. So the one worry I didn't have on the night of the event was that the music would be totally Off. The. Hook. Change is more than a DJ. He's a one person Party Machine. Well today is the seventh day and *surprise surprise* no response or payment in my Venmo. If anyone is considering booking him please know that he did not pay me and it looks like he never will. Monday I am going to file a claim in small claims court to try to recover my money. It's sad that Neil would scam someone like this but when I look at his previous reviews and the lawsuit filed against the company I am not entirely shocked. Karma is real, and Neil, you deserve nothing but shame for how you conduct yourself. He also won't answer me about a mobile bar and a bunch of supplies that are stuck in my garage that I am trying to return to him. I guess he made enough money off my back to buy new ones so he never has to confront me.
