Beyond Great. Once again, these yelp reviews steered me to the right business. I have had experience with various roofers over the years personally and in my profession. What a relief to finally have a reliable roofer to go to for any future needs. We had a leak that apparently has been ongoing since our home was built 12 years ago. Fortunately it doesn't rain enough in San Diego to have caught it sooner. Or would that be unfortunately? ;-) Jerry discovered that it wasn't just the underlayment that had deteriorated but the actual plywood beneath was badly damaged. He and his team went to work and less than 3 days later they completed the job before the next heavy round of rain and even hail. We got to see his workmanship in progress as the leaks were gone. Please do not hire this roofer! He is a "nice" man until you find out his job was NOT done properly and you want him to fix it right. My roof has been leaking since he "fixed" it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He has had to come to my home for several years now after it rains to tell me it's not the roof that is leaking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am at my wits end now. I have two roofers and a stucco guy telling me he should have installed a Z bar. Jerry keeps telling me I don't need a Z Bar and that he will just screw in the flashing and that will fix the problem. I have paid out thousands of dollars in new drywall and water remediation and I even tore out my shower because Jerry said the leak was coming from my shower and not the roof. I paid him thousands and thousands of dollars to reroof my house! It should NOT have leaked AT ALL-no matter what! Again, he is a nice man but please go elsewhere - there are many excellent roofers out there that stand by their workmanship (RC Roofing, Inc. is one). I hired a general contractor to replace my siding and paint my house and they ended up breaking over 40 tiles all over my roof so I started looking for a roofer to come fix the roof. I found Jerry here on Yelp and reached out to him and several others for a quote. The general contractor that did the damage thought it would cost $3k to fix the roof and even though Jerry knew this, he still only quoted me $900! When he looked at the tiles he also inspected my whole roof, took pictures, and showed me the pictures and explained everything he thought I should do to avoid potential issues in the future which I decided to go ahead and do as the total price was very reasonable and he seemed like an honest guy. It took him a little while to make it out to do the work because he's so busy but I wasn't in a huge rush so was no problem for me to wait. He did the roof and far better than I expected as we did have some mismatched tiles all over the roof and he actually replaced all those so the whole roof matches now! I noticed several old water stains above the baseboards of my master bedroom including a wall and called 4 roofers for bids. One estimator who used to work as a roofer in the Bay Area with Jerry highly recommended him. He said that he would trust Jerry to do the forensic work to figure out where the leak was coming from which is especially difficult here in San Diego where it hardly rains. A rare gem - an excellent technician, artisan / craftsman, and nice guy! Jerry is what all roofers should try to be like in knowledge and professionalism. He fixed roof leak, fixed ongoing gutter problems (due to gutter installer who is mentioned in another of my reviews), and tuned up the entire roof, and provided a warranty. Also, a nice guy to work with. Amazing work! We got several other roofer estimates, but they were either ridiculous costs, ridiculous work (removing roof and starting over), slick salesmanship attempts, or just unprofessional. Jerry shone above them all. One minor improvement is email communications and followup were slow and Jerry was very busy, so it took about 5 months to get a booking. A few weeks ago I had Jerry from All-Tech install a QuietCool whole house fan and a Natural light 13" tubular skylight. Jerry initially came to assess my house for installation a couple days after my call. I was given a honest and better quote than that of other installers. Jerry is professional and strives for perfection. He arrived on time and was able to finish on time. I have had no issues with his installations even after the rain we just received. I am very satisfied with the quality of his work and plan to have Jerry do more work on my house. I've had the whole house fan run the past couple of weeks and truly can say that it was a great investment. We have been going thru a heatwave the past couple of weeks and this gives me the ability to turn my air conditioner off at night. The tubular skylight adds much needed light to my dark kitchen. Jerry from the beginning was the most detailed and professional of all the roofers we got quotes from. First, he goes up on the roof with his iPad and comes down to show me photos of our current roof condition. He was also the only one that showed up with the shingle sample books from the manufacturer. Then when we can't decide which color, he offers to put a large piece of the two colors on two different spots on the roof for a week so we can seem them in different lights and make a final decision! He also gave me the address of another customer near by so I could drive by and check out his work. His price was comparable to the two other quotes, but he offers so much more that in the end, he was a way better deal. He was able to do our attic insulation without us having to call a third party. He also retrofitted a cylinder skylight we have that quadrupled the amount of light! I liked it so much, I immediately asked him to add one to the kitchen. He also suggested moving the ventilation up higher on the roof to increase efficiency. He also talked us out of putting on more expensive longer rated shingles because of the way the companies prorate them and because we were paying for tear off and weren't putting layer on layer. I think that saved at least $1000. Not only does the roof look fantastic, without asking, Jerry hand primed and painted any metal apparatus on the roof to black to match the roof so it would blend in. I've driven around and looked at other black-roofed homes and no one else has this detail. He also retrofitted a gutter in the front of the garage that he didn't like how it looked because it was accommodating an old electrical connection that was no longer in use. Jerry Velasco's All-Tech Roofing is THE BEST! His work is top-quality and he knows a lot about the roofing industry! But more than that, he really cared for us as customers. Our roof had to be replaced due to leaks. We have T**** solar panels (which didn't cause the leaks) that were installed on a damaged roof, without our knowledge. Jerry was able to see that the damages were older than the solar. T**** never said a word, claimed it was fine, and installed solar - two systems 5-yrs apart! They wanted a lot of money to remove/replace the solar, so we could get a new roof. Jerry advised us to file a complaint with Calif State Lic Board, and T**** backed down to a minimal cost. T**** removed the panels & Jerry did a beautiful job installing the new roof. During solar reinstallation, T**** broke over 30 tiles. They didn't know how to work on a roof properly to prevent damaging the tiles, made several mistakes, including not replacing the tiles correctly. When a different T**** team came back to complete the job, Jerry was on-hand, showing them pictures and video of their prior team's shoddy work. My 20-year-old tiled roof had a few broken pieces and some leaks, After I pointed him to leaks above me on the ceiling, he went onto the roof and identified something called dormers which were the source of the problem. When he eventually found tiles to match the old tiles, he installed those and he repaired the dormers. This may seem odd, but I chose Jerry because he did not have a website and I believed he did not need one because he is in great demand. I was correct because when he repaired the roof he told me that he had roof installations and repairs through four more months!
