We changed the work to just do the reinstallation and new installation work and was told he would charge labor and material but did not give an estimate. The bill came to $497, almost as much as the original proposal which required two visits and more work - who would have thought that would be the case? - $281 (included travel time at the same rate as labor) for labor and $216 for parts. It appears from online searches that the parts are up to two times what the price is in a plumbing supply store. We have never used a plumber before as I always did my own work and this bill was sticker shock! Guess we should have insisted on a new estimate, definitely will if we need a different plumber in the future. No issues with the quality, Roy did the work and he did a great job.

Or, just don't hire them at all! MiselBerger Inc. recommended, sold, and installed a central AC system that is fundamentally incapable of cooling the 2nd & 3rd floor of our home, as agreed upon in the contract for their services. From the outset, the system has failed to perform its most basic function: maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures. Even while running continuously at maximum output, it struggles to bring the 2nd floor below the high 70s during late spring and summer weather conditions. MiselBerger Inc returned to our home more than five times to inspect the system and attempt modifications or fixes in the weeks after initial installation. None of their interventions resulted in a reasonable indoor temperature. After the repeated visits, they eventually gave up, blaming our "leaky house," rather than taking responsibility for their own errors. At no point did they acknowledge the improper sizing or offer a meaningful solution, refund, or corrective action. We eventually sought an independent evaluation from another HVAC contractor. That assessment confirmed what MiselBerger Inc. refused to acknowledge: the system they installed is significantly undersized. They installed a 2-ton unit (24,000 BTUs) for a space that requires approximately 33,000 BTUs (2.7 tons). This is not a minor discrepancy. It is a clear failure to perform basic load calculations and recommend appropriate equipment. We relied on MiselBerger Inc's expertise to guide this decision. Instead, we were sold a system that was never capable of meeting our home's cooling demands on the 2nd and 3rd floors. MiselBerger Inc failed to perform due diligence and left us with a costly, ineffective system that cannot do the job it was sold to do.

When I mentioned that their website suggests otherwise and asked if she could verify with someone, she placed me on hold and returned asking for my name, company, and whether I was a third party. I explained that before providing all of my information, I just wanted confirmation that Ranck actually performs the service. Instead of answering the question, she insisted the answer was contingent on those details. I asked whether those questions had any bearing on whether the company offers the service at all, and she again stated that the answer depended on who I was. As someone calling about what could have been a significant commercial project, I found the interaction frustrating and unwelcoming. A simple, "Let me check and confirm whether we offer that service," would have gone a long way.
