We chose S&S based on reputation and recommendation. Our system was complex and PG&E even required us to install an additional power pole because the existing overhead was over 100 feet from our home. They also required us to move the new panel from the side of our home to that same 100 ft distance. We ran into an issue when the solar contractor began installation and S & S took care of it without issue. I was worried about additional costs as the panel, power pole, permits, etc. were already as much as a small solar system and that was separate from our system and installation costs. They did not charge us extra and I know the parts and labor were pricey as what was already paid was considerable. You can trust that they will do a great job and not take advantage. I also received a return call about 4 or 5 days later from another contractor, but I had already checked prices and moved on using All-Pro. They were able to schedule me the next week. Their appt. time was Thursday, and he said they would drop off the generator on Tuesday. Tuesday rolled around and I received a call letting me know they were on their way with the generator if it was convenient. Then on Thursday at 0800 they arrived, went over the installation and made note of parts, and said the would return. About 10 minutes later the plumbers arrived (arranged by All-Pro) to re-pipe the propane lines. After 40 minutes or so All-Pro returned and the installation was completed and tested by 3:00pm that day. All said, it was the way contractors should be -- but frequently are not any more. The tech who came to do the quote was supposed to be at my house between two and four. The company texted me at 3:30 to tell me he was running late; by the time he got to my house it was 4 PM. He was a very pleasant young man. Definitely respectful of the property, but in having him give me a quote, the methods at which they said they were gonna get power was just weird. They wanted to go through my fire extinguisher in my hallway instead of using the electrical receptacles that were already in my walk-in closet. It was quite odd to be honest. And then on top of that, the quote they gave me with asinine. Over $800 to put in one receptacle? This wasn't a complicated case. When he saw me balking at the price, he said well, we also do heating and cooling so if you want to sign up for $299 a year, we can give you 15% off the receptacle. I almost laughed. How ridiculous was that - trying to upsell me even more? Not only that, but according to this boy, they would probably have to cut through my drywall and have a patch job. I didn't realize it was a full company; otherwise, I would have not even contacted them. They were great at following up for the business, but not at the price at which they were quoting me. I found a contracted, licensed electrician who did it for me quickly and for less than half of what they were quoting me, and did impeccable work.
