I hired All Star Water Heaters to install my electric heat pump water heater in early 2020. This was a a replacement of a 12-year-old gas water heater, so I needed some upgrades to meet code requirements. The crew arrived on time, was very professional, and did a great job. They hauled away the old water heater and left the garage clean. The installation passed code inspection with no issues. A few years later, I noticed a very slow leak (a few drips per hour) on one of the connections. Pat came out and fixed it. From the second they called they were nothing but kind. They were ready to come out same-day but worked with me and my hectic schedule and when I had to reschedule, they did so with no hostility. They are very communicative and give you a reasonable time frame that they'll be at your home. When Chris arrived he greeted me with a smile and again, pure kindness. Our water heater went out Saturday morning. Couldn't find anyone who would come out on short notice until I contacted All Star Water heaters. They send a technician out the next day although they normally don't work on Sunday. Greatly appreciated! Tech did a great job - certainly better than the original installation. Pat and Patrick did a phenomenal job! Pat came and looked over our water heater situation and gave us a very fair price. It wasn't an easy job because we wanted the new one in a different place. Because he cares so much about the quality of his work he also added extra pipe protection so if the top valve or water ever leaked in the water pan it would go directly to our sump pump! Of course our water heater had to break down on a Friday night! Our garage flooded, a total mess. Called our home warranty and with the help of an advocate we were able to get All Star Water Heaters (Menifee) that put us first on their list Monday morning. Our old water heater and poorly installed water pipe needed repair. We called All Star Water Heaters and they came out after we spoke on the phone. They were awesome! Very professional and showed up at our agreed time. We ended up replacing our water heater, and they fixed our pipe issue. What I like was that they were straight forward and explained the issues. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER I needed a water heater installed in my house. I had been getting a few quotes. I decided to go with Lowes thinking "How could I go wrong if Lowes is behind it." I paid for everything and I had them come to my house to replace my broken water heater. The installer was kind and respectful. He told me he needed to do a few things to my water heater install to bring it up to code. He quoted me about $400 on top of everything I had already paid at Lowe's. I told him that I already had a quote from another reputable company and they came in $350 less than the quote he just gave me. At this point, things were still good. He then called his supervisor JOHN and explained the situation. His supervisor told him that he could go down to $350. I told him we were too far apart and thanked him for his time. He said his supervisor wanted to talk to me. This is when things turned bad. His supervisor John started talking bad about other companies and how they wouldn't do as good of a job as they would. I personally don't care for that kind of stuff. I told him that I just didn't think we could work it out since we were far apart in price. This is when John's tone changed and he sounded angry. He started to tell me that he had already lowered the price by giving me a military discount and that he didn't even have to do that but he did. That was rude and to make matters worse, his own installer is a prior service veteran "Army". I thanked him for trying but the numbers were WAY OFF. In an angry voice he started telling me, "What did you expect, to pay $20 or something!?" and he started laughing at me. I didn't appreciate him laughing at me and I told him that he didn't need to insult me by laughing. I also told him he was being very disrespectful and rude and that the numbers just didn't add up. I once again thanked him for his time and I told him I was done talking to him and that I would hand the phone over to his installer. He then told me that they would be charging me a trip fee for wasting his time. I handed over the phone to his installer. The installer apologized for his supervisor's behavior since he was able to hear everything because the phone was on speaker. I told him it wasn't his fault and thanked him for his time. I contacted Lowe's and I got a full refund. A Lowe's manager even contacted John that day and all he could do was tell me that John was sorry. If John felt so bad he could have called me himself, he had my number. I wish I could have done this install using Lowe's, but I guess when people know you are in an they try to take advantage of you. I had another company take care of my water heater install up to code and they didn't have to do a few of the things they said they needed to do to bring me up to code. My advise is get a few quotes from others before you have them come over to your house and try to take advantage of you. John please feel free to reply to this review. (Update 1-10-2019) John the supervisor for All Star water heaters called me personally and he apologize for his actions. I accept his apology and we both moved on. I'm sure we both learned something from this experience. I do want to point out that my review was solely based on my interaction with John and not the quality of work that All Star waters heaters provides. "Consider it Done." We've used Lowe's products and installers numerous times, one specific installation was our home water heater some 5 years ago. When we decided to start fresh with a new water heater in a rental condo we recently purchased, we again enlisted Lowe's to do the job. This install was complicated by it being a second story condo in a 33 year old condo development that had not designed in the water line to the outside, necessary for the water pan underneath, which is required for a city permit. The team that came on site to inspect the install at first said the install could not go forward due to this limitation. They contacted Jeff at the All Star Water Heater home office who guided them through the process of determining that the existing pressure release valve and external pipe could be modified to meet city requirements. We later learned that Jeff was able to gain agreement with the Vista City engineer that tapping into this line would allow the install to be permitted (thus dodging a bullet for us). On the day of the install I was pleased to recognize Dave Smith, as the installer on our home unit. Dave is a no nonsense guy who tends to skip the chat about family and weather and puts his full attention into the project at hand. Fine with me. Dave had no preparation for the complication this installation presented. I described the issue best I could, wondering what our result would be. Dave listened intently to my rough explanation and simply replied with what is now my favorite 3-word reply from a service representative: "Consider it Done". Per his style, Dave went straight to work on the necessary re-plumbing for the installation like he'd done this one or two times already (this week). Time for installation seemed no longer than a standard install. Dave cleaned up the job site and was out the door in record time despite the complication. I can highly recommend Lowe's system of sale and installation once again, thanks to All Star Water Heaters, Jeff at their home office, and, of course, Dave Smith. I'm pretty sure Dave gave their company the best customer slogan ever - even if off-handidly - "Consider it done". Well done All Star Water Heaters. Well done. read more

First rate outfit. They sell excellent products, install them very well, and provide good advice. Recently, our water heater started making "popcorn popping" noises. When I flushed it, there was a good deal of what appeared to be sand and grit with a faint red tint in the water. Our regular plumber advised us that the heater was failing and we should just go ahead and replace it before it failed. I called All Star who stopped by the house to give me a free estimate. He pointed out that our heater is glass lined and that rusting out (my fear) was unlikely. Encouraged me to install a 3/4 inch flush valve (don't try this if you're not mechanically inclined) and, presto, our 5 year old heater is almost as good as new. In short, quality products, quality work from honorable people. Highly recommend using All Star for your water heater. read more

These people are rude and unprofessional. They installed a new water in my home three years ago and now it's not working. When I called I spoke with a person who rudely stated they no longer provide service for my water heater. When I asked him to clarify he said they no longer do business with that company and I was out of luck. He said the water heater was not their product and I had to deal with the company. He was very rude and snarky on the phone. He eventually agreed to send someone out but I could tell by the tone of his voice it was going to be nothing but issues with this company. They have gone downhill in their customer service over the years. This was our second time using them to replace a water heater in my home and I guarantee I will NEVER use them again! read more
