From "Kinda upset" to "Will refer out to anyone" customer right here. Ok, so here's the story. My wife and I have a home warranty service for the house and casita, and I have an office in the casita part where we have a mini split (Samsung) installed that has been GREAT since day 1. After several years though, it developed a leak and would stop working and the original company wouldn't service it and really left a bad taste in my mouth. Fast forward to now and my wife and I got this Home Warranty program (NOT for this issue mind you, but our house was 5 years old now and that's about the time things start breaking...) and it wasn't cheap. We made sure to include everything too, from the pool to the casita and everything, and we had used the warranty program for some other smaller problems already this year when we got into summer and the AC needed freon again. What it really needed was this leak fixed though. Enter "All Star Refrigeration" and this is who the Warranty People sent out to take a look. Ninab was the tech's name and man.... I've got my own business now for 20+ years and I know all too well about installers, and the people you have working for you, and how important they are, but let me tell you, this guys the real deal. He came over and listened patiently to me as I tried to explain what all was wrong and checked the levels and agreed that it was out of Freon and needed a refill. I tried to explain that it had a leak too, oh and by this time, it was so bad that the whole unit began leaking water too, of which I had a cooler underneath it to catch all the dripping water, and of course I'd turn it off when it began doing that, but still, this issue was becoming much larger than just low on Freon. He told me that there's a process with the warranty company and that we had to report the leak after the initial visit and would need to schedule it at a later date. Makes sense I figured, and sort of the same thing doctors do when referring out a specialist. Still here? You've read all this so far? I'm proud of you, lol. Well, the freon injection really helped with the cooling off part but unfortunately what it seemed to do was make the leaking MUCH worse. This is my office btw, that houses my computer, files, etc. etc. and I NEED to work from this, so I called All Star Refrigeration again and spoke to Joe. I tried to express my problem, and he said that he'd try and get someone out there that day (Friday) or worst-case Monday. Ugh.. I knew what this meant and I've been in his shoes before. This meant Monday and I had to deal with a weekend of this crap... ugh. Monday rolled around and no call from Joe and so I figured I'd call around noon to make sure I wasn't forgotten. He answered (of which he ALWAYS did btw, which is an amazing trait - he knew it was me and could have easily sent me to VM), and I asked when someone was coming over. He explained that someone was there that morning and rang the doorbell and no one answered so they left. Well, you can imagine how upset this got me. It's 2026... I asked Joe if someone called or texted me or anything and he said they did and left a VM, of which my VM I did get was of someone walking on rocks or gravel for about 15 seconds. It was at 10am though, and I was in my office and couldn't hear the doorbell from there... maybe he's telling the truth, lol. Still, I need this thing fixed and I'm tired of being strung along or having issues with AC companies (remind me in my next life to run an HVAC business, I will KILL it ). I got a little heated, upset even, and Joe tried to calm me down and I just hung up hoping they'd send someone out again. Well, I was surprised when Ninab (this guys THE BEST) showed up again and went straight to work. He saw the cooler full of water and went up into the attic on a 110 degree day and saw that the line was clogged as well and began cleaning out all the drain-outs. He did all he could to fix it and reported the leak to the Home Warranty company so that if (or when?) in ~3+ months I'm out of Freon again he'll come back and fix that leak I have every bit of faith that they will. They were fast, competent, and left me feeling every bit happy about my experience with them and in an office that is 70-degrees and not 100!! That alone deserves my praise. I'd definitely call them to have your AC's looked and fixed and the experience was overall very good. Thanks Joe and Ninab! I hope I don't need your services again, but it's nice to know your a phone call away from saving my hot butt. Stay Cool out there! Now I just need to call a drywall company.... read more

Joe came late the same day after I contacted him in the late morning and his schedule was already full. He checked and diagnosed the problem with my 23 year old roof top unit within a few minutes. He talked to me about the parts he could install and what the prior repair company had done from many years ago. The next day they were back out late in the afternoon to make the repair after they picked up the parts. Even with a prior family function planned for the early evening, Joe took the time to make sure the parts were replaced on a hot summer afternoon for my family. It's rare to find courtesy, professionalism and economical service these days. All Star Refrigeration serves up all of these. Thank you All Star! read more

My a/c went out completely Friday morning 9/18/20 not even the fan worked. Within 90 minutes my home warranty company 2-10 assigned All Star Refrigeration. A few hours later I noticed a missed call from All Star. The voicemail from Cesar said he could come to the house now, he just needed a call back to confirm. I was not expecting such quick service and I missed my window. Now I should expect a long miserable weekend at my place right? Wrong, Joe from All Star showed up the very next morning on a Saturday, ready to fix the problem and sporting a face mask. Literally 15 minutes later Joe had located and repaired the problem. A few minutes after the 90 something temperature inside the house was quickly dropping. I've been in my home 26 years and this by was by far the quickest, most efficient, and courteous a/c service I've ever experienced. Thank you Joe and Cesar, you are true pro's . read more

After suffering with internal temps between 80-90 degrees our warranty company assigned All Star Refrigeration to get our AC repaired. Joe showed up and he actually had the necessary part on his truck to finish the repair in one visit!!! I don't think that has ever happened before as we usually get told the part must be ordered, approved by home warranty company, etc. Joe is the best and I would highly recommend him & All Star for any AC repair. Thanks a million!!! read more

I knew it was coming, a few days leading up to the hottest weekend yet this year in AZ. I was laying in bed, hot, uncomfortable, the AC went out earlier that evening and that's when I got a alert on my phone, a heat advisory, temperatures of 117 coming the next few days. I was not looking forward to any more nights like this until our unit was fixed. I had called the homeowners warranty at about 9pm when I returned home from work earlier that night, nervous about when I would get a response. I'm not gonna lie after reading a few of the reviews of others I was a little apprehensive when my Home warranty company hooked us up with them to fix our broken AC. Eddie at all star refrigeration showed up exactly when he said he'd be here and had my AC fixed in less then a hour, only 18 hours after my initial call. They had the parts our AC needed on hand even though it was a pretty old unit. Eddie was super nice and very knowledgeable, he gave us some extra tips on maintaining our AC as well! We are very pleased and nice and cool in less then 24 hours. Thank you all star refrigeration and Eddie! read more

Joe was the only one out of my warranty company that was able to come out as soon as he did. Our AC went out Friday night, Saturday morning we did a service call and he said he was able to come out same day after 6. He had to reschedule because of the rain on the east side (assuming he lives there?) and come out on Sunday. The one thing I'm disappointed about was that he didn't call me to notify me that he wasn't coming on Saturday which caused my husband to miss a sentimental event. However, he came within the promised time on Sunday and was in-and-out within 15 min with a fixed AC. And it's working great so far! Thank you Joe!!! read more

Worst customer service ever! The warranty company scheduled an appointment for them to come out to repair our air conditioning. We called them directly, spoke with Joe and confirmed the appointment. When no one arrived during the promised time frame we contacted Joe, only to be told he had us on the schedule for a different day. We reminded them we had called the day before our appointment to confirm. He requested a work order number we hadn't been provided. We called Joe back only to be told that now he couldn't find ANY order for us, when we asked him to search number the last name or address he became angry, told us to call the warranty company and dispatch someone else, that he wouldn't be coming to our house. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Update: Joe called right after I posted this and was upset about the review, but couldn't return the warranty company's call early in the day. Consumer beware! Complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau read more

Joe has always been fantastic. He's always made us a priority like I'm sure he does with each client he serves. He has always been polite, professional, thorough, and always fixes the issue on his 1st visit. read more

Timely and professional service. Will continue to use their service. Joe always gets it done right.

The poor tech came out several times to try to fix the problem and couldn't figure it out. He was really nice and I believe he did everything he could, but not once did I directly hear from the owner about what he thought may be wrong or that they wouldn't be returning to actually fix it. If you can't figure it out that's one thing and understandable to a point, but to just stop showing up and it not be fixed...extremely unprofessional and rude. A complete waste of time and we've been without AC for a month now. read more

Our warranty company set up a repair for our a/c unit with All Star Refrigeration after the initial company I was assigned had a 5 day response delay. All Star was great! They were able to come out days earlier than the other company. When I called All Star they found out I was located out of their service area, but they still came out to do the work since they had committed to my repair and they stand by their word. Joe and crew were professional, courteous, and had my a/c back up in running with 30 mins! They even had to work around the inconvenience of new pavers being installed right next to the a/c unit, and did so with no complaint. True professionals!!! read more

This company was called out by our landlord to repair our 4 non-working AC units on our store. We were told by 4 large reputable companies that the units needed to be replaced due to them being 25 years old they are no longer repairable. This company told our landlord they could repair for $900 so they would not have to replace them. What a scam on poor renters! Absolutely disgraceful!!! read more

All Star was assigned to me today 9-4-20 by my home warranty company as the previous company that was originally scheduled to come out never showed for 2 days...this is after waiting for 3 days prior ( due to busy season for A/C & mine had tanked). I had to move out of my house last Friday because it was unbearable & after 2 days of no shows by the other company I was at my wits end... & thankfully All Star came to my rescue! They fit me in as the last appointment and actually just left my house at 8:45 pm on a Friday night! Joe & Caesar were courteous and professional. Highly recommend them for solid work ethic and keeping their promises while the other company blew me off. read more

Shouldn't even get a star! Warranty company sent this joke of a company out, Joe "seemed" really nice and ended up being too much to deal with. Air conditioner needed to be completely replaced, it took him 3 days to kind of complete the work. I saw him fall through my ceiling, thank goodness I witnessed what had happened and he wasn't hurt. He didn't connect the condensation line causing water damage to another area of my ceiling, which he did come back and connect the next day. He told me the unit needed a part that he didn't have and would come back out to fix it. When my son called him to come out to place the part and fix the damage, he got extremely confrontational and aggressive. He never came back, not that I wanted him in my home again. With all of that being said, I had to fix the ceiling myself and the part that was missing was allowing carbon monoxide to flow freely while my heater was being used! He is no longer contracted with my warranty company...I wonder why. I would save myself the headache and go with a reputable company even if the price is a little higher because it will end up costing you a lot more in the long run here! I'm not sure how to respond to his comments so here it is: The water damage was caused by not connecting the condensation line. It is not working for free when the job wasn't done correctly in the first place, it's making good on your mistakes! He makes it seem as if I did the damage somehow. Please BEWARE!! read more

Yelp does help when evaluating a business or contractor. I have posted critiques when deserved, but I want to be as quick to post a compliment when earned as well. All Star Refrigeration was assigned to me by First American Home Warranty. This was after another vendor failed to commit. My AC was out, and since this is summer in Arizona, we needed help FAST. Joe was attentive on the phone, came out the SAME day, was quick, honest, fair and fast. He was a great person to work with. I felt like he was a family friend that cared about us. Wish there was a 6th star! read more

Joe & his staff save the day again. Thank you Joe! Same day service when our AC went out this time last year and again this year for different issue- Joe fixed it all. Very fast and reliable. read more

Worst AC company ever!! Incompetent from the start when they couldn't even find the order after they texted me the order number. Came out and said unit was completely fine and looked good even though my air in the house has been in the 80s for a month. I insisted they add Freon and it took a whole day to come down 4 degrees. Tech Joe said he didn't know what the problem was and would come back. Two days later still nothing. Blew me off on a Friday night and then said he'd be there by 3 on Saturday. Finally showed up at 5:30 and added more Freon after he said he couldn't put any more in. AC still not working, many texts, most unanswered for him to tell me he doesn't know what the problem is. No kidding!! Then after landlord got involved he was rude to her, blamed me and hung up on her. So unprofessional. Still no air and no answers! Would never recommend. read more

All Star serviced our AC that went out on our second story. They were referred to use by our home warranty company. At first I was skeptical, based on the reviews I read online, but after meeting Joe and seeing the results of his work, I'm now a big fan! He had our AC working within a couple days and was very courteous and straight forward about what was needed to make the repair. Overall our experience with Joe, and his team, was positive and would recommend All Star to anybody needing AC/Heating service. Thanks again Joe! read more

This is the second time we have had them out to repair our air conditioner. We go through Homeserve and they sent us Joe from Allstar. He is extremely reliable and honest which we really value and appreciate. I was shocked and saddened to see the bad reviews posted because he's a great guy and provided great customer service. Each time he is out he has diagnosed the problem and was great at communicating how long it would take from start to finish. He has become our best friend in the summer :) Our family appreciates his hard work! read more

Honest reliable service, highly recommend. Fixed our built in microwave after two other companies couldn't

My home warranty co. Had me call All Star refrigeration so cut to the chase this company is absolutely horrible. I took a day off from work had to call them 3 times they said they would show up and never did!! I called my home warranty people and complained so they sent parker and Sons which fixed my ac that very same day. I reported all star to the BBB Avoid this company!!! read more

Went through First American Warranty Company to have repair done. Joe came in and replaced the capacitor and then we walked outside to where he told me the motor fan should be replaced. Told me that he needed to order the part and would be back to replace. I called weeks later and he told Warranty company that everything was working fine. My wife and I were both there to hear him say that he would be back so this was not a figment of my imagination. He even went tapping on his phone saying he was making notes to order. LAZY SCAM artist. I will let First American know to remove him and would recommend everyone else do the same. I will also be contacting the BBB to file a complaint. I would recommend doing the same for others. He must prey on the warranty company customers for his business. Request another AC guy to if you get assigned to him. . read more

Joe fixed our AC fast. Good guy too boot. Two thumbs up!!

Time for a name change guys - zero star refrigeration is available and waiting. Do not use this company - they squeeze by as a business by working under home warranty companies where they are your only choice. Poor service, did not fix the problem, refused to come back and fix the problem stating that they could only come back out two days later. It's AZ and it's 100+ degrees. Chose to pay out of pocket rather than use this co. read more

This past weekend while resting at home, the temp in my house began to raise and became quite noticeable. I checked the vent and unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed...the AC unit had turned into a fan blowing room temp air. I still had All Star refrigeration's business card on my fridge since the last time they had repaired my AC unit (same unit - fan problems, it was oversized..wrong size fan). The previous job was done so quickly and efficiently, I did not hesitate to call them again. I spoke with Joe who immediately showed up (on Sunday) realizing how urgent the situation was (it was 103 that day. He diagnosed the issue, but due to the age of the unit, it was unfortunately beyond repair. He immediately started making phone calls to secure a replacement unit., and secure he did. He showed up the following day with 3 units, and I joked about needing only one..he indicated that they were for other jobs. The install went very smoothly, and at the conclusion of the install, he did a thorough check of all the work they had completed, and double and triple checked everything...old school way....Joe has become my go to guy for AC..he is professional, honest, easy going man with great work ethic and a wonderful attitude. Thanks Joe. read more

I was assigned to All Star Refrigeration through my home warranty. I had the worst experience with them. They came to look at our A/C unit and said they had to get a part to order it. They ordered the part and that didn't work. Needed to schedule another time to come back to fill it up with freon. That didn't work. They said they had to order another part. When they came out the second time, they messed up my backyard gate and didn't shut it properly and knocked off the mesh that keeps the rattlesnakes out. I have dogs and I was lucky they didn't get out. Bottom line they said they would be here at certain times and didn't show up. Bottom line is I had terrible service and still left with an A/C unit that does not work after a week and half dealing with them coming out several times. Apparently they don't know what they are doing. Find a different vendor. ANYONE is better than All Star Refrigeration. read more

Last year, end of May, my A/C died. American Home Shield sent ASR to check it out. he said it was the compressor ... AHS approved the new compressor, he supposedly installed it, charged me $600 for Freon, took another $$$ from AHS for it too ... this year, I start the A/C ... NOTHING!!!! I call AHS, a tech from another company comes out and says: old compressor, needs replacement!?!?!?!? Showed me photos, and sure enough, it's never been replaced. Joe A. David, took the compressor from the insurance company, used it elsewhere and charged for it, took my and AHS money for Freon ... Can you spell THEFT?!?!?! FRAUD?!?!?!? So, now I have another battle with AHS on my hands. Will report to registrar of contractors and will take to court to get my money back. Have statements from TWO companies, photos, all proof! He mickey-moused something to make it work for a couple of weeks (I am away most of the summer and he knew that) and made it appear that he did the job, and that's that! Both contractors that AHS sent this year said the exact same thing and took the exact same photos! THIEF AND LIAR!!!! Do NOT EVER do any business with All Star Refrigeration!!!! read more

I couldn't agree more with the above review. This company is absolutely horrible, unprofessional and have no sense of customer service whatsoever. They are rude and disrespectful. I saw the poor reviews and I was shocked. I was also assigned All Star by my home warranty company and I had an excellent experience with Joe!
