I went to All Star Nails for this second time as my first appointment for a nail dip was wonderful with Misty three weeks ago. This second appointment was a nightmare. I met with Ken for this appointment on last Friday 3/20/26. While looking for nail color a woman replaced Ken. She did not chose to speak English. She took over on hour to change my nail color on the Dip Nail set. She must have kicked me under the table a dozen times which hurt since I am handicapped in my lower legs . When removing my polish large pieces of debris were flying in the air all over me ,hit me twice in my eyes , in my hair and on clothes.The pieces of debris were huge the size of a raisin. I was polite and kept asking her to stop kicking me and stop the debris flying. All she did was mumble and laugh with that man KEN since he was now sitting next to her doing nails. Obviously this woman and rude KEN were laughing about me as they ignoring my requests just mumbling and laughing . It was a horrible experience that took twice as long as a normal simple 3 week old nail fill. I went to pay and KEN was now at the register and the screen showed I owed $100.00 two times. I told KEN that wasn't the correct cost he sneered and laughed again with the nail lady under their breaths and said "Pay Cash" the Register is broken so I had to pay cash ( the Register was not broke because he used it for two other customers after I left , I stood outside and watched Sneaky KEN ring up two more customers. I will never ever go back to these rude lying employees at your All Star Nails . Tony always does a wonderful job on our nails. My daughter has seen a different female tech twice, and both times the nails were lumpy, crooked and came off wiring a day. As for pricing, I feel that they are automatically trying to add the tip in. For instance, I had an acrylic fill in with French tip. The website and posted sign both indicate $45 ($55 for full set). At the counter, after being forced to pull cash out of the ATM which they now charge for it's use, I was told the amount was $60 ( which incidentally is the exact amount I pulled out). I questioned and they said $55. I paid because I was in a hurry. I will likely go back because Tony does a great job, but I will probably stop tipping. I hope this does not impact him! read more

Went in on Sunday because it was one of the few places open. I asked for a full set of acrylic nails. I also asked for them to be short because of work. I also got a matte polish. The nails and polish were nowhere near my cuticle. Pictures are from the day after. It was also super rushed. I feel like I already need a fill-in. Total cost was $55 not including tip. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews, makes me wonder if they are bogus? Every time I have gone here, everyone has been super polite. I have gotten the best manicures and pedicures of anywhere in Kingsport, and I have been to three other highly rated salons, that were not as good as this one. I get a gel manicure and every time it has lasted two weeks, not a chip. So far it's the only place that I've found that's worth going back to. read more

I have been going to this place for 10 years and the person who did my nails today I had a photo to go by and I asked her before she was almost finished if she had another coat to put on she said yes I wanted a matted she didn't listen show me go wash my hands I wash them after she's going to Matt them and she said it was going to be another $10 I already paid $85 for my nails why would you make me spend more just to put a freaking Matte coat on. Used to go here all the time to get my nails done; I think they have gotten cheaper on their products as every time I go anymore my nails peel off whether it's acrylic or gel. I wish I could give this nail salon a zero rating! I have never been so embarrassed and humiliated in my entire life! My nine-year-old daughter and I went to this salon on 7/8/23 for a fun girls' day out together. We both got a classic pedicure with gel polish. I got a manicure with gel polish, and she got gel polish only without a manicure. I paid at the gentleman at the counter what he stated I owed for the services, 104.00, and added a 20.00 tip, totaling 124.00. I had a difficult time understanding the price quotes the lady was giving me while we were getting our services as the nail techs were conversing back and forth in their native language and always just pay at the counter what they tell me I owe as I did on that day. After paying, we left and proceeded to walk through the mall to shop. After approximately 20 to 30 minutes, we were shopping in Bath and Body Works with my hands full of merchandise; the older salon lady and the gentleman that checked me out came into the store and approached me and my daughter. The lady demanded I place my merchandise down and go with them back to the salon to pay them once again. They were speaking to each other in their native language while everyone was staring at us as if we had left the salon without paying. I explained to the lady and gentleman who had checked me out that I had already paid them what they stated I owed, but she demanded that I come with them. I placed my merchandise down at the counter, and we walked with them back to the salon as onlookers were gazing. I paid them once more, this time 79.00, and the younger salon manager insisted I add another tip as well, which was another 10.00 which made the second total paid 89.00, a total of 213.00 altogether. Remember this was just polish over our natural nails NO tips etc. I am going to my bank on Monday morning to print a statement of purchase and report this salon to the Mall manager, hopefully, I can find out who owns the salon chain and will proceed to move up the ladder until this matter is addressed appropriately. I used to like going here but have stopped going for personal reasons. They have almost always done a good job on my nails and have took their time. The only problems I ever had was one woman would always mess up my nails and would get mad when I said I did not like them! During the summer I went there for my first acrylics and they did a wonderful job. Then the next woman that did my nails did not do a good job. She would always paint them and wouldn't even dry them! She would blow on them instead! Later on when I went back during the fall she apparently had quit or was fired. The last few times I went they always did a wonderful job on my nails. Went and got my nails done a week ago. My nails- for the price- lasted a little over a week, I've had two pop off and two days after having them done one split and I had to use nail glue to glue it back on. I don't do anything more than I would normally do to have made that happen. I've had them done before that will last weeks before needing a fill. Stay away! I used to go here a lot but they have new employees and the service is awful.. I went in tonight for a pedicure and the guy doing the pedicure was clearly unhappy when we arrived. He came to my chair with a hateful look.. Didn't ask what kind of pedicure we wanted or polish color. He was very rough and when I said ouch he gave me hateful looks. I ended up with one toe bleeding and a nail fail off another one in the parking lot. The nails that are left are cut crooked and they all hurt. When I told him that he was hurting me, he got mad and started screaming in another language. Another employee had to restrain him and then send him to the back. I like that you don't have to have an appointment since my schedule is erratic. Most of the time I go early afternoon and don't have much of a wait - maybe 5 minutes, but last Thursday I went in the evening and the place was packed. I waited 30 minutes and left because the time it would have taken to do my nails from that point would have made me late for something else I needed to do. Prices are reasonable and they've always done a nice job with my acrylics as well as pedicures. From reading about the wait times in other reviews I wonder if they went in the evening or maybe Saturday? I'll try to avoid going during peak times, since I've had good luck in off hours. read more

I went in on a Sunday to get a Pedi. the salon was not busy at all, and had more help than customers. I was seated and given the price list to chose the services I wanted. I wanted the basic Pedi and add white tips, the young lady found it very humorous that a guy would chose this, and ask me 3 times "you sure?" She made the announcement for all the other employees in the shop in her native language that a guy wants white tips (?), then one at a time they would come by and look.
