The first time I invited them out for an estimate, they were an hour late with no call. They gave…read moreme a soft estimate which included three glass panels for the shower and were there with the constructor to make sure the plan was solid. The contractor and I decided not to go with three panels and reduced it to two to save costs on custom glass and decided it was more sturdy with a wall. They gave me a rough estimate for $1600. The work was nearly complete so I had them back out to officially measure for the two glass pieces. I had to chase them down for an estimate, two weeks later the bid was $3800. I called to talk to them about what happened. They said the $1600 bid was for one panel and not two which wouldn't make sense in the shower or design so if that is the case, why send that bid over at all. The initial 3 panel bid was $2600 so I was asking why it jumped up to $3800. He said the price of glass went up in the last four months. They were unapologetic and told me any glass company is going to charge you this much. So I called 8 places for bids and the cost ranged from $2200 to $2600. I made the decision to go with a company that has 30 years experience and definitely knew what they were talking about. Gatsby continually lost my confidence they even knew what they were doing.

I get there around 1:30 with a company truck there but the door is still locked. This isn't a short drive for me. In total, having gone to and from the store twice that day, I've spent an hour driving today with nothing to show for it. I called the store but I was just so annoyed at this point and have so much else to do that I didn't even let it go through. Cody did call me back from a separate phone number (?) and left a message saying he had a few missed calls from me and to call him back. I'm sure he's a nice guy but this was a real let down.
