We had a very bad experience with one of their instructors, Peter Knudsen. He referred to my daughter as "Tinker Bell," and made other sexist and inappropriate comments. I have heard from other families that nicknames for girls are common with this instructor. When I provided the information below to the Manager, Don Vinson, he chose to not respond to our complaint. Concerned about a company that would support this type of employee being around young people.
When i first got in the car, I started it and put it in reverse, he got mad at me because i didn't realize there was a park break and he yelled "aren't you in school can't you read? Read me what that says right there!" and I did. Then he said "what if you and your daddy were driving and you didn't notice it and you were just laughing about it and the car caught on fire? You think it's funny?" I wasn't laughing, he mistook my tears for laughing.
Then he says "are you ready ma'am" (super sarcastic) and I said yes and he said "really are you sure? Do you have gas?" Obviously we did or they wouldn't use that car, I said yes. Then he started yelling about how I need to pay attention even though I knew that we had gas.
As we were driving he kept calling me "Tinkerbell" and "Babe" in a snarky way.
I had no idea where to drive because he didn't tell me where to go. I asked him where I should go and he says "didn't you hear what I said, go wherever you want I don't care!" I've never been in that part of town so I had no idea what I was doing. Every time I made a mistake he yelled at me, and when he asked me why I stayed on the same street I said I didn't want to get lost, He got mad at me and yelled "that's the stupidest excuse ever! You shouldn't be scared of getting lost if you get lost then I'll tell you your lost but you can't use the excuse that you're going to get lost because how are you going to drive in the real world?" I didn't know what to say, and he was very scary.
The instructor was talking about being drunk while the other boy was driving, and while he was driving, the instructor asked me "you awake back there Tinkerbell? thought we left you by that gas station where you could have bought a six pack!" When I thought he was asking me he said "was I talking to you there Tinkerbell?" read more
